I was staying at The Westin Calgary for a convention at the hotel and didn't expect the welcoming, kind staff working there. They were wonderful when talking to us, great help with directions, very knowledgeable of Calgary. My room was clean, comfy and very modern looking. The package we booked online included free breakfast. When the bell man delivered our food he said I had to have a coupon??? I didn't have one so we ended up paying 64.00 for breakfast! I won't do that again.

The only issue was that the bathroom was a little small in the "newly renovated" room I had. The room itself big. They should have used some of that space to increase the bathroom size..

The room was very comfortable .. but was missing a fridge, which I was expecting to find. The shower was not at all practical .. the shower head is on the ceiling and there is no door on the shower so the water splashes all over the floor. The bed was very comfortable and clean.

nice hotel. perfect for business travelers especially who are in Petroleum/Gas industry. would be nice to have a small frige in the room.

I received an "upgrade" from a room in the Main building to the Business building. I've stayed at Westin before, and the rooms in the Business building are not as great as the rooms in the Main building. So much for an upgrade. Service/location/food is great, but I must complain about the soundproofing at this hotel. This hotel is not cheap, but why […] is the soundproofing between rooms so bad? This week I went was one of the worst sleeps I ever had. Upstairs guests were walking around very noisily and kept interrupting my sleep. I had to move rooms, which is really inconvenient because I was already settled in. Bottom line: Everything about this hotel is great, except the sound-proofing is no better than a cheap apartment building. 더 보기

Clean and comfortable rooms. I called ahead to specify special requests to make sure it was taken care of when I check in. When I got there, none of it was taken care of and I was very disappointed. I had to ask again and some changes were made to my booking. Good thing the front desk is very accommodating and they were able to get me what I asked for […] right away. 더 보기

Service - excellent. Staff are very friendly and will do their best to accommodate your needs. Restaurant - great service, food is delicious. The buffet is way overpriced though. Rooms - very clean and modern. However, they need to improve soundproofing. Exactly what the business traveler wants.

All in all a good stay, clean and well kept. Only complaints were the lack of hot water in the bathroom sink and sometimes the shower and some of the lights were burnt out.

The Westin is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are both spotless and stylish. Quite enjoyable.

The room was fine, but the design of the shower in the bathroom was stupid. Water all over the floor. What a drag for the maids... There's a reason for shower curtains and/or doors on showers.

Great location in downtown. Close to many good restaurants and shopping. Beautiful hotel. Comfortable room. Clean. Access to +15 walkway system. Check-in was efficient. I was told wi-fi was free to me as a thank you for staying during the holiday season. When I logged on, I was asked to pay for access, which I didn't mind paying for, but it was annoying […] to be given false information. I went for the green option (I can't remember the name of the program), which means housekeeping doesn't clean your room every day in exchange for a voucher to use at the restaurant/bar/coffee shop. I thought this was an excellent idea as I don't like knowing people have access to my room/belongings and it is wasteful to use fresh towels every day. There were 2 bottled waters in my room, which were complimentary. I thought that was a nice touch. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint is that the bed was too comfortable.. I didn't want to get out of it in the morning! The concierge made excellent dinner suggestions, and found a sporting goods store I needed to go to one evening. He even called the store to make sure they were open late enough so I would make it there in a cab by the time they closed. My luggage was delayed, so I didn't have any toiletries with me. I called housekeeping and they brought up a toothbrush and toothpaste for me. When my luggage was delivered by the airline, it was an obscene hour of the night. The staff did not notify me, presumably because they did not want to wake me. That is understandable, but nobody left me a message or note to tell me the hotel had my luggage in their custody. I had to call the airline to find out where my bag was, and I was shocked to learn that they had already delivered it. My situation was unique because there was a lapse in communication on the part of the airline AND on the part of the hotel. The Westin didn't clean our room each night....we still had urine on the toilet bowl that our 5 year old left the night before.....disgusting. The 'dream' bed is a joke. All the various levels of sheets and comforter just kept sliding off one another leaving me with out bedding. Staff was very nice though. Bad mark on Westin.

Our room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. I don't like the new 'Green' program, I don't need my sheets washed every day, but I would like the maid to come in to replenish coffee, shampoo, etc.

Like this hotel tons. Great location and service. The bedding isn't as good as it was in the old days but still fine. I would have preferred a tub and shower and fluffier towels. I think free wi fi should be something included but we still enjoyed our stay.

The bathroom shower leaked and the bathroom was tiny,tiny . ia ma Starwood member and every time I make a reservation I ask for a room high up and ,quiet . This time i got on the 10th floor . Originaly I went to the 14th floor and the bathroom was so small for 2 people . The staff were very nice but why must I go through this stress after a three hour […] drive to Calgary?? Reservations ask questions and then do not listen ???? Would I come back yes. I want a BIG bathroom and high up .Not 14 to 12 . The time before this stay someone had used the room -bed messy and the bathroom had been used .Had to change rooms again . Not exactly quality for a westin. The Hotel was excellent and quiet. There is no bar or gift shop which was surprising but OK. Enjoyed the stay, the quiet and the high quality room.

We just came from Banff Springs hotel and I must say the service and room quality were similar. Obviously the gradure of the hotels are different but I would recommend the stay. A little confusing to get to the hotels entrance because of the one-way streets but we got there.

Great hotel and location. Excellent check in - check out service. Has a high end Keg and a Starbucks on site.

It was just great.

Everything was excellent..only prob was not informing me about the 700 dollar deposit f or my room..i don't like surprises

From check-in to check-out I was treated like a VIP. Handling of luggage, valet, check-in, room-service, food quality, ambiance and maid service were all 5 star. Amenities with the restaurant and in-room spa services, Starbucks in the hotel were added values for this hotel. Shower, bed, Internet service all great. Only 1 thing that lacked, flushing […] of toilets...very slow ;-) Great for business travel and equally great for vacation stay. I highly recommend! 더 보기

This is in the heart of the city and very well connected. Its convenient.

Great place to have a Christmas Party. Beautifully decorated, staff gave excellent service. Would definietly recommend and I expect we will be back.

I got a great price on a room at the Westin. The location is great, it is a very nice hotel, and it met my needs. Internet access at the hotel (in a "non-preferred" room) cost approx. $15/day during my stay in November 2010. I know this is common practice for business hotels, but it is time to stop viewing an amenity that is as necessary as sheets […] and a shower to business travelers as an add-on option. This is not what upset me, though. It is annoying to pay for internet access in an age where even Starbucks has abandoned it as a revenue source, but it is also somewhat expected. However, I was sharing a room with a business associate. I reserved a room for 2 people, with 2 double beds. We both received a key. They put an extra bathrobe in the room. But when I paid ~$50 for 4 days of internet access and we both tried to fire up our computers to get some work done, we discovered that only one of us could use the connection at a time. I assumed there was some mistake or I was doing something wrong and dialed '0' to talk to the service desk. They very politely explained that, yes, the $15 dollars per day only covered one connection at a time, even though it was already limited to 5GB of total bandwidth and so the number of computers and/or smartphones using it shouldn't matter. If I wanted to have my computer, my smartphone (I am from the States and so had 3G data turned off to prevent data roaming charges), and my traveling companion's computer all connected to the internet at the same time, we would need to pay for three separate access accounts, or $45 per day! I did not make a big issue of this. I probably could have gotten a break on the pricing if I had complained or gotten mad, but I think that is beside the point. The service at the Westin is good, but that does not excuse bad policy in the first place. 더 보기

Great hotel, very comfortable. Had a Starbuck's in the lobby and offered a $5 Starbuck's credit for every day of declined room cleaning. Very innovative! I used the meeting facilities and the staff were very accomodating. Heard the fitness facility was very small, which is surprising for a business hotel.

Consider this a good Westin - good location, clean, good restaurant/bar, Starbucks in lobby, etc... Everything you want from a good mid-range business hotel. Had a standard room and the bathroom was exceedingly small - so much so that your knees hit the wall in front of you when you sat down at the toilet - and I am a hair under 6 feet. We have stayed at this Westin often over the past 12 years and have always enjoyed it and the downtown Calgary area. I will note that some changes saddened me: small amenities have been discontinued such as providing mini-bar, some bathroom sundries. The choice to go "green" and not have housekeeping is good. The place has recently been renovated but it is a bit of a shoddy job that has been done and you can clearly see that this is an old hotel. They have put new furniture in the room and replaced the carpets but left the ancient light switches for some reason - things like that are common. The good things are the location and the bed was very comfy. However, […] the bathroom is pretty poor, the hotel is insanely busy and there are a lack of services. I don't appreciate having to pay for internet access for a quick email check either - stuff like making you pay to use the computer in the business center are a bit penny pinching (actually $6 for 20 mins) and should be free. 더 보기
