We have stayed at this hotel many times and found it to be great. Not so much this time!! This time the room had a strange odor and when we got into bed we determined why. My husband's side of the mattress had a raucous stench- SO bad that he chose to sleep in the chair. I will have a hard time convincing him to chose this hotel again. I am not a particularly harsh judge, but I was not impressed by this Double Tree. The customer service at the front desk was not consistent. There was one young man that was incredibly helpful and kind, whereas two of the women were exceptionally unhelpful and bordering disrespectful. Additionally, there was some sort of electrical issue going on, and […] a fan that I had no control over started going so loudly at 7:45am that I was afraid to go into the bathroom b/c everything was vibrating. I called downstairs for assistance, and no one ever came. I recorded it on my phone, and once presented to the gentlemen downstairs, he moved my room...though he checked the logs, and the person I called in the morning failed to log the call, or that there was a problem. There was also some sort of leak in the hallway, and a very loud fan was going the entire time in attempt to dry it out. Overall, I was definitely not impressed by this hotel's service. The cleanliness and appearance were fine, but the customer service was pretty bad. 더 보기

This hotel is very nice -comfortable bedding, Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries, great chocolate chip warm cookies in the lobby at night. We enjoyed our stay there. The only thing they could add would be a complimentary breakfast, even if simple. Coffee was available in the lobby in a.m.

The food in the hotel restaurant was delicious and the wait staff was extremely friendly and efficient. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Great place to stay in Wilmington,DE. Several Malls and sites of interest nearby. Only 4 miles from the Riverfront. Hotel is very clean and attractively decorated. Room was comfortable and quiet. Personnel was very pleasant and accommodating. Restaurant is great!

Stayed over for a wedding. Convenient to everything...

This hotel had some of the oldest elevators I have ever been in. Other than that, it was pretty nice and modern. However, the class of people staying there was less than stellar. There were people in the halls talking and yelling all night. Fortunately, the staff took care of it once we called them to inform them of the problem.

I did not like having the hotel charge appear on my credit card bill weeks before I even stayed at the hotel. I am used to paying after I have stayed. I did not like that I could not make any outgoing calls from the phone in my room because I did not know that I had to request this option as an amenity when I made my reservation. Other motels do not […] have that requirement/restriction. Most other motels have refrigerators in their rooms and, provide disposable cups in the bathrooms. I can't be sure of the cleanliness of the glasses. I walked around the foot of the bed and the bed frame was protruding about four inches. I raked the top of my foot on the sharp corner edge of the frame. The manager came right up and offered medical attention and free breakfast. He had maintenance come right away to fix the situation but when they pushed the mattress back, they knocked the plug out of the wall to the clock. The staff was courteous and the room clean and comfortable, but the hotel was surprisingly run down. It wasn't a problem - just noticeable. More problematic was that the back entrance to the hotel was not locked late at night as posted on the sign. Finally, don't assume that the hotel restaurant is actually a restaurant. The DoubleTree on Concord Pike has a fresh new look and promised a great value for the money. Unfortunately, their computer system was down; so Housekeeping never cleaned the room, and there was no bill provided before check-out. In spite of these shortcomings, I'm willing to give the hotel another try.

When I called to get reservations, I requested a late check-out of at least 4:30 due to a 6:00 wedding down the street. Was told it would not be a problem since it was a Sunday and there would not be a charge. This was on 2 rooms. When we arrived we were told we must be out by noon. On Sunday morning we were told we could stay till 3:00 only. Any later […] and we would be charged another 1/2 rental for both rooms. The desk staff was not at all accomodating. Stayed for three nights and ev erything was perfect! All Staff was very friendly and very helpful. Would stay no where else when in the Wilmington Deleware Area

Lovely room, really comfortable beds, nice restaurant & bar, helpful friendly staff. Overall-very nice--except for one thing: ten bucks a day for wifi!!

The wedding guests next door to our rom kept us awake until the morning hours. The front desk helped, but the acoustics did not. It must have been a very busy night, because the next day it was a challenge to get some clean towels. We've stayed here before, and it's usually better than it was this trip.

A good value, nice breakfast for additional $6, very comfortable king size bed and most importantly---the room was clean, clean sheets, towels, etc. ....some minor nicks in the furniture, and the location, while very convenient, is not the most scenic, were the only real drawbacks. We were not told that there is a late check out fee and we were charged an excessive amount. We were extremely dissatisfied with the way our check out was handled. We booked our stay from Sunday night to Monday night and when we checked out at 4 oclock monday afternoon we were charged a late fee.

When they say non-refundable, that's what they mean - you get NO money back, even for corporate accounts. At least I didn't cancel the reservation because then they could have gotten twice the money for the same room. I don't think so. Pretty low-life for a high-end hotel chain, in my opinion. So I won't stay at this chain again. Hope it's worth it […] to them - a lifetime of frequent stays versus a few nights refund due to work travel changes. If your travel is at all variable, even 1% probability, I'd book another chain through hotels.com. (The Inn at Wilmington refunded 100% and you don't have to pay for breakfast there. Rooms were clean and very comfortable, front desk was pleasant and efficient.

This motel is one of our favorites. I find the staff very friendly, the motel is clean and well kept. It is very close to lots of food and shopping centers. A nice getaway. We go there frequently!

I would love to see fridge/ microwave in this hotel, even the less expensive ones we stayed in had these. WiFI is not available unless you go down to the "Business" center. Requested towels to swimming pool 3 times , over 1 1/2 hr, before they were delivered.

Room smelled from body odor when we walked in. We should have requested another room as others in our party were fine. Lobby needs more furniture and ambience. Could use better maps of immediate area and brochures of places of interest. Bar closed too early when there were wedding parties ready to drink and eat.....last call came way too early. Our stay was excellent, the hotel was very peaceful, we felt as if we were they only guess. It's a very nice getaway for the weekend hotel.

Have stayed before, said the same last time. Need inside the tub mats, very slippery. Front desk reception, half are trained and helpful, other half of staff is NOT.

Great location (next to the Concord Mall; 30 mintues from downtown Philly); clean and well appointed.

We were given a room that wasn't ready. After having that room changed to another one (directly across from the elevator), we came back to our room late that night to find our keys didn't work. We went up and down the stairs twice to have the keys fixed. Finally, our air conditioning didn't work in the room. A frustrated stay!

The bed matress was mediocre. Every time my spouse turned over I was jostled. Independent springs would solve this problem. Otherwise the room was fine.

The DoubleTree Hotel is outside of downtown Wilmington, on a typical large parkway dotted with malls and all the chain restaurants you can think of. So neighborhood : so so. The hotel itself is very nicely appointed. Our room was a bit small but nice and clean. We slept until 9.30 am the next morning, which almost never happens, so that says something […] about the quality of the bed. TV had good stations, including HBO and HBO family. On the minus side: We had taken out bathing suit to enjoy the indoor pool, but unfortunately it was closed. Only one elevator worked, and when we asked to take the stairs instead of waiting, the front desk staff gave us vague directions (go by the gym...) which didn't lead us to stairs. The gym was open, and had very good equipment. The restaurant was too pricey for us, so we decided to only have the breakfast buffet there. Unfortunately, the buffet is only available until 10 am (we got there at 10.15), which is not mentioned anywhere. The room card just says: breakfast 6 am to 11 am. So we were disappointed. Just bad luck I hope, because I would like to stay at this hotel again, but some obnoxious kids running around the halls til 2 am!! They were at it for hours. Can't believe hotel didn't address this, although I know it's a challenge to talk to parents about their kids. very pleased with my stay. very nice location. close to mall and shopping centers.first time staying here and had no problems finding anything.just 15 min away from where i was going. would definitley stay here again if ever in the area.

This hotel was in the suburbs of Wilmington and that's why I chose to stay here. I came late and the front desk was nice enough to hold my room for me. They welcomed me with a nice warm chocolate chip cookie. The room was spacious and comfortable. The desk, the nightstands, the bathroom sinks were all made of granite. The wallpaper in the room seemed […] to come apart, but was no indication of lack of cleanliness. I stayed in the hotel over a weekend in March 2011. This hotel is GREAT! I can't wait to come back. I attended a dance weekend t the hotel where the participants stayed at the hotel, and danced at the hotel. Myself and several other participants remarked to the hotel staff and to the organizers of the weekend that this hotel has everything the dancers […] need & want.
