I read enough reviews about this place before going to the hotel, so I was disappointed to find out that all higher floor rooms were booked already. A hotel staff offered a full-size bed on the top floor, but I booked a king bed so we ended up staying on the second floor. Perhaps because we did not face the freeway, but it was loud at all. Yes, the […] location is a bit dangerous with homeless people around the hotel because it's in downtown but it's right next to the freeway so it's convenient. Bed was very comfortable and the tub was big enough. I felt a bit uncomfortable in the pool because there are men walking past it all the time but it's what it is. It's pretty small too. The factor that ruined what could have been an overall satisfying experience was the staff. I had a problem so I called the hotel after the stay, and the hotel staff who answered my call was extremely rude and acted as if I was a five-year-old. If you want to stay at the hotel, which I recommend for its convenient location and comfortable room, I'd recommend as little interactions with the hotel staff as possible. 더 보기

Although this is an older building the rooms have been recently renovated with modern, quality touches that you would expect in a more expensive hotel (granite topped desks and counters, contemporary decor, makeup mirror, free WiFi). We walked the few blocks down to the trolley and spent $5 on a transit day pass and toured San Diego all day long. Staff […] were great and we especially appreciated the free shuttle to the airport and other attractions. The hotel is right next to the highway so it is somewhat noisy but not enough to bug us. My advice would be to do your research ahead of time and know what you want to see before you get here. Our only complaint was the heating/cooling system in the room. There was no visible thermostat so we used the wall mounted airconditioner to try and cool the room at night but the system kept turning itself off even though it never really stayed cool enough for us. We could have reported it but we were only staying two nights so it wasn't worth it. IThis hotel may not be in the heart of the downtown area but a few blocks of walking to transit or the bay is good exercise. Although there are a lot of homeless people in the overall downtown area it is surprisingly clean and we never felt threatened. HBO HD channels never worked.

Noisy Maintenance sounds kept us awake Hotels.com did not make it clear there is an add'l parking charge of $17 PER NIGHT !!! No Jacuzzi Great remodel of rooms... comfortable NO TV Guide menu or brochure... had to go to internet . No in room movies either Cafe was expensive

Room was clean and linens were refreshed often enough. In-room "high speed" Internet was VERY slow and required me to re-enter the password constantly. Parking at the hotel was nearly 20 dollars a night and awkwardly configured. Room service menu is very limited. Hotel entrance is difficult to spot from road. The gym was quite small as well and located in the parking garage, which was awkward. Hotel is located adjacent to a busy freeway. Parking fee was excessive! Parking spaces very small. Location was downtown, but not the greatest location. Hotel has seen better days. Pool was not clean. Pool area was isolated and noisy from freeway. No spa.

This is a good hotel to stay at in San Diego. The room was clean and comfortable, the location was pretty good, within walking distance to Little Italy and the Gaslamp District. Next time I might stay closer to the Gaslamp, but that is personal preference, plus I will probably pay much more for that location too. Overall, would recommend the hotel.

The room was clean but small. housekeeping staff was good. The parking lot appears to be secure because it is gated, however I parked at the upper level and discovered there was no security gate on the pedestrian entrance, so anyone could walk up the stairs and have access to the entire parking lot. There is no complimentry breakfast at all like others Holiday Inn that I had been staying.

This is a great Holiday Inn. Convenient location, good price and the cleanliness of the room and entire hotel are good. Def stay at again. Service is great as well.

So glad we decided to stay here on our weekend trip to San diego. In the past we've stayed at the sheraton which was much more expensive and not nearly as fantastic as this place. It's location was convenient, just a short walk to wherever you wanted to go in downtown so we save a ton on parking. Their parking is a big high at $17 a night but when you […] realize how much you'd be spending if you drove everywhere and decided to look for parking in town, $17 is a bargain. The room will super clean and well stocked with. Towels and what not. The beds we're clean and very comfortable. The airport is really close to the hotel but you can't really hear the planes or anything. Now the staff was wonderful! They have a shuttle that will take you where you need to go which was awesome because it's a pain walking in heels at 10 o'clock at night in mid February trying to get to the club. Woot woot. I thought I had left my phone in there and the people were so helpful in helping me find it. Stayed here for one night during February. Was on the 10th floor directly facing the freeway. The room was small, but very clean. The bathroom was a nice surprise and everything suited our needs. Minutes from the Gaslamp Quarter and Old Town San Diego. Also close to the harbor area. If you're a light sleeper, you might have an issue with the sound of traffic since you are surrounded by the freeway (the hotel is in a cylindrical shape in the middle of intersecting freeways). Parking was kind of tricky though. Since the building is cylindrical, the spots are in a weird angle, but always managed to find a spot to park. Also liked that the parking was only accessible to hotel guests with a key card. Overall, the location and cleanliness of the room where the major pluses. I would book again. 더 보기

My only criticism is the speed of the internet provided. Whether I connected with Wi-Fi or ethernet, my speeds were so slow that my browsers timed-out. I had to go to Starbucks to use my computer.

The only good thing about this hotel was the little restaurant in the lobby. My husband and I got breakfast there one morning and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meal. Two stars only for the smell. This is a great hotel on the surface. good service, nice room, great location. BUT, and this is a major BUT, they have a restaurant in the front that has an open kitchen....AND an open Fryer. So, the entire first through third floors smell like McDonalds. Parking sucks! Knowone mentioned that I needed to pay $17 a day for parking.

Very expensive for what you get. Paying for parking on top of room and all the misc taxes, Never Again. Food was not that great, limited in what was offered, expensive. I travel and stay in Hotels in Calif., Nevada, Arizona, I have to say, this was the most unexceptible stay ever. Sorry Holiday .... You Failed!!!

nice rooms very clean and we had a view of the bay. very convenient to freeways to zoo, safari park and sea world. rooms were as advertised but you pay extra for secured parking, which is very secure. we paid $17.00 a night extra for parking. Overall very nice stay and moderately priced.

Better if you're traveling alone, or if you're not too modest regarding use of toilet. Sliding door doesn't quite offer the sort of privacy you might want.

Do not trust the "Breakfast Included"! we got $10 coupon per person, but this is barely enough for coffee and orange juice. Parking is $17 dollars per night

Our family enjoyed staying at the Holiday Inn San Diego. Being that it was right down, we had access to great restaurants, shopping, and tourist attractions. The only downfall to the hotel was the size of the room, but for the short span of time that we stayed in and the other benefits the hotel offered, it was fine!

The location was great we walked everywhere. The Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy and even the Convention Center. The Shuttle is available if needed. The only downside was that our flight arrived at 11 pm and departed at 6am and the shuttle was not available during that time.

Spacious room and bathroom, clean. Cool TV. Quiet room. Good air/heat. Helpful staff.

Like the area it was in. It was very close to the Qualcomm Stadium as well as downtown San Diego. Didn't like the fact that we had to pay for parking when we were already booked to stay there anyways. The hotel was very clean, the room, the beds were very comfortable and quiet. The prices are very reasonable for a last minute weekend get-a-way. I would stay again and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Whilst this isn't the most expensive hotel in San Diego it is well situated for downtown with the gas lamp district only 10 mins walk away. Also the MTS (Trolly and Bus) services that run through the city are very nearby and make getting to places like Old town and Pacific Beach a breeze. We found this hotel to be very convenient to get to most of the attractions. We like to walk and this fit our requirements perfectly.
