They forgot to leave me towels one day and didn't even clean the room or make the bed the next day.

It seems like it used to be a nicer place, but the current management has allowed it to run down. The room was dated and needed repair, especially in the bath and vanity area. The pool looked awful and the dining/breakfast room was dimly lit at 9 am. It worked for an overnight stay but didnt seem like the safest place.

All I needed was a place to sleep. This hotel met my needs. If your looking for a warm friendly staff that was not my experience. If your looking for a quick snack for breakfast, its available. Stayed one night, just driving through Birmingham. Nice and clean standard motel. Slept well. The wifi was not really working in the room, but worked ok at the reception room where there are couches and tables. The room was not completely clean. It was not stocked with coffee, soap, etc. The room was in need of maintenance or upkeep. Breakfast was ok. The price was low so I guess you get what you pay for.

The bed was firm which I love, but the bedsheets were all askew like the maid didn't know how to properly make the bed. At first I thought the sheets were the wrong size, but I think it was just that the bottom sheet was placed crooked on the bed. I wanted to take a bath, but the tub wouldn't fill and when I showered it wouldn't drain. I like this hotel […] for the location and the price. Will stay again. 더 보기

The hotel was clean, but our non-smoking room smelled strongly of old smoke and the bed spread and blanket had ciggerett burns in them.

Halfway between one home and another and near 65 and 78. Walking distance to good looking BBQ place and a Waffle House. Close to Walmart grocery store, and gas stations. Makes for an acceptable, convenient stop for us, so we'll stay here many times between FL and Ark. First time we stayed had room near pool which was nicer than second time with room […] in back. However, hubby was approached by pan handler. Dusty behind the dressers. Blow dryer didn't work. Not all lights worked (missing bulb). Not real welcoming when you walk into office, and overwhelming perfumy smell (air freshener). The room were not highly scented however (YAY!). Breakfast is strictly carbohydrate fare which we don't eat, but for the price, convenience and nonsmoking K bed, we will stay again. 더 보기

This hotel needs some major overhauling. The carpet in my room was filthy. Thorough cleaning needed in that department. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall. But, you can't beat price. You should really expect to get what you pay for. The price reflected all of the issues mentioned above.

My only complaint is when we turned on the air I had to leave the room for 15 min to get fresh air because I couldn't breathe. I suppose the air conditioner's filter must had been dirty and I breathe in dirty particles. Was about what you'd expect for an Econolodge, honestly was great for the price. Only real complaint is the ac is startlingly loud when you are trying to sleep and it kicks on. My girlfriend and I were just visiting Birmingham for a day to check out places to live. It was perfect for a single overnight

Very very loud. Housekeeping cart sounds like a garbage truck rolling around, slammed doors continuously, and ac unit in room also sounds like 1973 vw engine cycling on and off all night. Needless to say, did not sleep well at any point. As for cheap hotels, I have seen worse. It was otherwise exactly like the rest

hotel staff were wonderful. they were very polite and took care of any needs promptly. The hotel has a few minor maintenance issues. Our room needed a light replaced and wallpaper was starting to come loose in a corner. They need to find actual fitted sheets for the beds also. However, for the money it was worth it. Stayed for 3 nights in Jan'12. Rooms are spacious, clean, everything in place as it should be with some extras thrown in like a refrigerator and a microwave. Though the hotel can use a bit of updating. The non-smoking room reeked a little of smoke and that was a minor irritant. The front desk staff went out of the way to help check-out, print boarding […] passes, etc for the return flight. Small touches like these make for a happy stay. Waffle maker elevates the breakfast fair up from ordinary. Though, you have to make do with jam/jelly on your toast. No butter/margarine! Overall a good value for what you pay. As advertised. Older hotel, but clean with good wifi service and plenty of options on the continental breakfast. All I needed for a one night business trip.

The room was very clean. The receptionists were very friendly and the breakfast was good. I have no complaints about my stay there. I would stay again.

VERY CLEAN. That was a nice change. Did not have iron or coffee pot in room or very soft towels. However, it was very nice to stay somewhere that I didn't feel like was going to give me some disease. Even the lobby smelled clean upon entering - not a heavy cleaning product clean, but actually clean. I have to travel to this area often and have tried […] several motels within sight of this one, however, for the value it is by far my choice. Not clean at all, spooky, feels like crime area with all the signs saying ".. At Own Risks.."

I feel that the Lodge have gone down a bit. The pool have been closed both times that we stayed there. There are several other things that need attention., With some other attention to the property I would be very happy to send friends.

Its worth the price, convenient rooms were clean, beds were ok, rough towels- felt like sandpaper, plenty of channels on the TV. Quite, no drama while i was there. Front desk help not the friendliest around.

This was an okay place to stop for the night. Nothing fancy, but that's not what we needed. I felt like it was 'CLEANED' but not 'CLEAN'. It could use some updating and deep cleaning, but it had definitely had adequate housekeeping before we checked in. The biggest problem we had was getting into the parking lot. The Econo Lodge was a good value for the money. The room was clean and hotel staff was courteous. This is a great value, if you are looking for a good, comfortable, place to lay your head for the night.

Upon arrival there was no one at the front desk...we waited a few minutes before we decided to step outside and ring the bell. The desk clerk finally arrived a minute or so later and informed us that she was in the bathroom and didn't know where the rest of the staff could be. My son and I stayed here because we would be 6 minutes from Elmwood cemetary to see Coach Bryant. Nice location as well.

as you enter the room it smells like a mixture of bodily fluids, smoke and cleaning supplies.... the walls of the bathroom looked as though someone was well... lets just say it appeared to be dried blood splattered from top to bottom.

No problems. Front desk people helpful, friendly. Room clean. Breakfast pretty good.

Only stayed one night the room had slight water damage on the ceilings and walls but everything worked the refrigerator, iron, coffee pot, TV and microwave and the room was clean. Enjoyed the stay.

I loved the location, and the people that worked at the front desk were extremely helpful. Also, there is some great food nearby, so it is a great place to stay if you are restaurant hunting.
