This hotel has a very good price given the location and commodities. In the beginning I was a bit concerned about the location, since I was not driving, but it is very easy to get to the city with the complimentary shuttle service or by taking a cab.

This was a great place to stay and very convenient to downtown for seeing clients. While tucked off the main road, it has a beautiful view of the river and Windsor. The room was clean, spacious, and well appointed with everything I needed. I've already been back and will stay again on future trips to Detroit.

Hotel was really nice. Old building with a lot of character. Hotels is literally right on the Detroit River with a great view. I didn't try the restaurant so no comment on that. Downfall is there isn't anything within walking distance. The immediate neighborhood is very warehouse like. However, all of the activity Detroit is not far.

Just when you think you're about to run out of road and you're lost somewhere in the strangeness of Downtown Detroit, the road ends and you're at the hotel.

I thought the location and decor of the hotel was great. If is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway or a special celebration. I would share the fact that this is a diamond in the rough in the sense it needs a little work on the creature comforts and service level. But overall I enjoyed my stay. thanks.

Great place for great value

I was working nearby and wanted to stay in the downtown vicinity without spending two arms and 3 legs. This hotel was perfect. It is a refurbished building, possibly an old school which warrants amply sized, operable windows and high ceilings. It gave the room a luxurious feel. The immediate neighborhood is nice with some nicer restaurants, a beautiful river walk on the Detroit river immediately out the front door of the hotel provides views of Detroit and Windsor. Restaurant and bar on site. Downside, no refrigerators are available in the rooms. Also, there is a very rundown neighborhood on the opposide side of Jefferson Ave; which is the main rd a few blocks away. The hotel, however is detached from this neighborhood and unless you "search it out" you wont really know its there. There is no "seedy" influence in the vincinity of the hotel. All in all, its a good hotel that provides a luxurious feel that could be priced a lot more. 더 보기

This is a quiet escape on the waterfront clean nice room, decent room service, the location is tucked off but its still a nice location really.

Love he Hotel

The people that greeted us were very friendly even though they were slammed at the time. There is a personal shuttle to Joe Louis, and a great bar a block away. Our room was huge. High ceilings and flat screen tv. I would stay here again

Roberts Riverwalk Hotel lies along Huron River separating Detroit from Windsor, Canada. it was formerly the administrative office building of Parke Davis pharmaceutical company and sits among a complex of buildings once the center of Parke Davis in Detroit. As the administration building, it was built to be luxurious and gracious, with very high ceilings, […] deep walls, spacious public areas and regal architectural trim. The view on the river side is lovely and the wide esplanade is a great place to relax or take a jog just outside the lobby door. The new management makes every effort to provide for your comfort from very gracious lobby staff to efficient procedures and affordability. They are so helpful. And the area seems quite safe. I hope this new management will succeed as I visit Detroit often and can find no other reasonably priced hotel in the downtown area. Most people go out to the suburbs to stay, requiring driving. The hotel shuttle drops me off and picks me up around town. How convenient! This is certainly worth a try. I won't consider anywhere else downtown. 더 보기

This was close enough to everything and everyone downtown. There was no shuttle at 6a but the front desk guy was willing to go ahead and take us anyways. Only a few min cab ride downtown and back and totally worth it compared to trying to park downtown. Room wasnt what was pictured when purchased but was still doable. This hotel is a gem in Detroit. We stayed at the hotel to celebrate my birthday and the staff were very nice and polite. They couldn't find our reservation, but later did and upgraded us to a river view for our inconvenience.When we got to our room, the shower was clogged and I called down and they moved us to a different room with the same view in […] less than 30mins. The restaurant at the hotel also has excellent food with great prices. The chef will also wake up and make you something at any hour of the day if you request. I had personal bussiness to attend to in Detroit and this hotel was only three miles away from where I needed to go. I wanted to be close, because I am not from the area and I didn't want to risk getting lost. What I didn't realize was this hotel also has longer-term residents that actually live there. The room was nice, but looked a little worn and […] my pillows collapsed to complete flatness as soon as I put my head down. There were no vending machines...and the choice of music playing throughout the hotel was...interesting. Gospel music is great, but it has its own place...in church. The staff was friendly, the few that I saw. I felt bad for the young woman who served double duty as a bartender and waitress. I was the only person in the dining room and she had to run back and forth. The chef was friendly and his food was very good. It was a good enough place to sleep and get a quick meal, but I probably won't stay here again. 더 보기

The Hotel is seriously outdated. It is in major need of renovation. Also, they should do something about tying to have a cell phone tower built nearby. Cell phones do not work inside the hotel.

FIRST NIGHT AND SECOND NIGHT THE 3RD FLOOR SMELLED OF DOPE - THE SMELL WAS SO STRONG THAT IT TRIGGERED AN ASTHAMA ATTACK - WHEN WE COMPLAINED THE SECOND NIGHT THEY WERE AWARE HOWEVER NEVER RECEIVED ANY COMPENSATION

For some odd reason, the hotels system and hotels.com don't communicate. I had to print my email confirmation as proof and payment. The room was very comfortable. Although my husband took a nap on the sofa in our room which contained a pillow. He has a rash now on his neck and the side of his face where the pillow was. We checked out on Sunday, it's […] Tuesday, and the rash is still present. I do not have a rash. Not sure if he is just allergic to the fibers contained within the pillow, or if it was "infamous hotel bedbugs". The staff was nice and the rooms had high ceilings and pretty architecture, however, our room that was supposed to be on entirely non-smoking floor smelled like smoke the whole time we were there. The thermostat was broken and the bed was supposed to be a king size bed, it was a queen. The restaurant located in the lowest level of the hotel was good, […] but pricey. Also, the two times that we went down to the restaurant, a hostess, waitress, etc. was nowhere to be found. We had to wander around until we found someone to seat us. There was coffee available in the lobby in the morning, only the coffee canisters were empty and we ended up waiting long enough for coffee to just leave and get it somewhere else. There was a shuttle that took us to the concert that we went to at Saint Andrews Hall, which was nice, but I wish we would have paid a little more to stay closer and receive better service and a cleaner room. 더 보기

The staff was very nice. The girl at the front desk upgraded us to the penthouse room, because she found out if was our 4 year anniversary. I imagined the room to be amazing....that was not necessarily the case. The layout of the room was amazing but it was just old. The last time the room was renovated was probably in the 80's. Got to the hotel and there were dozens of teenagers running around inside and outside of hotel. Apparently it is a hotspot for sweet 16 birthdays parties as two we going on at the same time. Parents took all the parking spaces and we had to park in a loading dock next door. Got in my room only to find it had not been made from the previous guests. […] Cups and food wrappers on the desk and bed linings on the couch. I was told I would be 'upgraded' to a riverview room. Wierd because I already paid for one. Bed in the new room was comfortable but AC fan was loud. No vending machines on site and tap water was awful. 더 보기

From the front desk clerk, to the bartender at the hotel bar to the romantic room setting, our night at the Roberts Riverwalk was above our expectations. The setting was great, the staff extremely professional and friendly, and we've already told other friends and family members about this gem.

My wife suggested that we try Roberts Riverwalk Hotel to stay at after a Wings game, and from the pictures I saw, I thought it was worth a shot. It was close to a restaurant that we wanted to try, and equally close to the tap room of my favorite brewery, so it was an easy choice... truth be told. We got there, and the parking was a little odd... Valet […] parking signs, but no Valet. Ok. We walked in together and I was pleasantly surprised at the elegance of the lobby. We were immediately greeted and checked in rather quickly and professionally. We were told that we could park in the "Valet only" spots along the drive, as there was no longer a valet service. So far, so good! Once we got to our first-floor room, I was, again, surprised. The high ceilings made the room seem much larger than it really was, and I'm not complaining a bit. It was a very nice, open feeling room with a king size bed, couch and nice coffee table. The bathroom was rather large, and the only window in the room stretched to the ceiling. I was immediately comfortable, and my wife was as happy as I was. The next morning, my wife and I decided to try the hotel restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant was in the basement of the building, which also housed a lounge with a pool table and bar... among other things, I'm sure, but we didn't explore very much. The restaurant, itself, was very nice: decent amount of space between tables, quiet, well lit with plenty of windows that allowed for a nice, ground level view of the river. She and I were the only customers, aside from one other gentleman that came in about halfway through our meal. We had contact with one hostess, who was also our waitress, and her pleasant demeanor was refreshing. The food, while not incredible, was very nicely presented, and was served in a reasonable amount of time. All in all, there wasn't much that I could complain about. We booked for New years eve and had an amazing time. The price was great and the staff was very helpful. The hotel is really beautiful. We definitely will go back again next time we stay in Detroit.

Loved the architecture and location of this hotel. Very clean and the free parking was a nice surprise too. The restaurant had a small menu but the food was very good.

When I booked this hotel it said that it was a 4.5 star hotel and it was not. Our room was very comfortable and the hotel was in a convenient location. They even had fruit and juice in the lobby and I thought that that was a nice touch. However, I was very dissappointed with the cleanlines of the hotel. There was dust all over our curtains and there […] was hair in the bathroom around the sink. We did not want to move our stuff to another room so we did not complain. We stayed for two nights and were very pleased. The location on the riverfront is very attractive and we parked close by the front entrance - free! Very quiet. Friendly staff. Bar, restaurant and pool table on the lower level. Large room. European breakfast and soft drinks in the lobby before 11 am. Looking forward to returning.

The rooms were large, quiet, and clean. The staff was friendly. Parking was easy. The location was secure and close to several events downtown. The view of the river was great!

We booked he hotel last minute when coming in town for a wings game. The room and bathroom were both much larger than expected. The bed had one of the comfiest pillows ive had in a hotel bed. Also it didn't hurt the room was at a good rate

This downtown hotel is neither overly expensive nor seedy and poorly maintained like some others I have been in. The historical building is elegant, charming and spacious. The staff was especially courteous, outgoing and helpful. I felt like they liked doing their jobs. The river view was glorious. What a pleasusre! I recently stayed at the Roberts Riverwalk Hotel in Detroit Dec 2011. The room wasnt too big but it had high ceilings which made it feel bigger. The bed was comfortable and the room had big windows. There is a door with big windows in the lobby that faces the river. You are able to walk out and have a great view of the river and walk down the River […] Walk. It was a short drive to downtown. The one problem we had was our shower. Its great if you like hot showers but we couldnt figure out how to turn down the hot water. But overall, for the price we paid, I liked it. 더 보기

This hotel is fair of the beaten path and you have to go through a relatively shady area to get to it. Formerly an Omni hotel the room size is great and the structure would be too, but it is a little dated. When booking a riverview room on hotels.com you may not get one when you show up. Okay, it's not the Renaissance Marriott... That's where my wife wanted to stay. We took a chance on a little, unknown, used to be Omni, Hotel, and we were never more happy we did!! No, It's not perfect, by any means. The new management/Owners only took over in April. They're still remodeling and updating. But what they lack in polish and perfection, […] they make up 100 fold for in efforts and service. The weekend we were there, management upgraded EVERY guest, due to the remodeling. We ended up in a Penthouse Suite, for the price of a discount room. The front desk staff from the Friday night we arrived, til the Sunday we checked out, (we extended our stay an extra night, due to their efforts) bent over backwards for us. The hotel is not fully staffed yet, but everything gets done. It has a satisfactory restaurant, with a somewhat limited menu, but it's functional, even with room service. There's a bar, live music on the weekends, and drink specials. This lil place, is a great lil secret. It's older, somewhat antique, but beautiful, and right on the boardwalk. We saved $300 easy, making the choice we did, and it was a LOT quieter. By the way, did I mention, FREE Parking?? That alone pays for dinner/drinks! 더 보기

Charming architecture and especially friendly staff. But no pool, or work out center, or valet parking and the "restaurant" leaves much to be desired. That said, this is the best value of any big city hotel I have ever stayed in. Great views of Windsor, right on the Detroit River, convenient to both ball parks, convention center, and expressways. Detroit […] is NOT a city in which to go shopping... you need to get to the suburbs to do that, also the zoo is a ways out (Royal Oak) butyou are close to the expressways. 더 보기

Nice vintage hotel.. The only problem is it was hard for the navigation system to find. Great location right on the river walk, free parking, view of Canada was nice, rooms clean and comfortable.
