"Wonderful Weekend Away"
It was a great hotel to stay at for the weekend. The customer service was above and beyond what I expected. When checking in they asked if we were doing anything fun for the weekend and mentioned it was my wife's birthday and getting away for a quiet and relaxing weekend. When getting back from the restaurant the first night, we were suprised to find […] champagne and chocolate covered strawberries with a Happy Birthday card from the hotel staff that checked us in. It made the weekend even more enjoyable. The rooms were VERY clean, which my wife is very picky about. "Great hotel - old world charm + cool boutique"
Its a legacy hotel with a brand new renovated facade and interior. Great lobby and bar. Rooms can be different sizes due to the hotel's history but super comfortable and well endowed. Service in the hotel is great, pay attention to the valet which is actually around the corner and no in front. Highly recommended.

Had my 2nd stay at the hotel this weekend, and it was even better than my 1st! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean as well as the hotel in general. Conveniently located right downtown, connected to the Skyway, friendly staff. The happy hour is kind of weak. Free glass of whte or red wine basically. The bar is nice, I'm not a drinker but the bar guys seemed to know how to make some pretty fancy and interesting drinks. Only issue I had was a slow draining sink in my room. I didn't want to have to […] deal with the maintenance during my stay (even though it was gross brushing my teeth, BF shaving, etc) but once I told them when checking out they called maintenance on the radio right then and there. Oh, and you have to pay for Internet and paper if you want to print in the business center, which didnt work well for me as I was there to present a conference paper, but the desk staff helped me out and let me print from the front desk. I wouldn't count on it all the time though... Also you have to join their loyalty program to get free Internet in the room, which doesn't help the printing situation either, and is kind of annoying. The hotel where the conference was didn't have free internet either, which I think is kind of silly considering how much we pay for these hotels and c'mon, wireless internet, should be a give in now a days... 더 보기

I really enjoyed my stay. Although, I did have two complaints. One was that the room description says city view and I had no view whatsoever from my window which was hugely disappointing and secondly I did not like that everything in the room was for sell. Made me a bit anxious about touching anything. Overall, nice hotel.

My boyfriend and I came to Minneapolis to watch the Lakers beat the Timberwolves and we spent the weekend at The Grand Hotel. Our stay was great. We got to the hotel from the airport at 11am, and though we were not able to check in, the associates kept our luggage and called us when our room was ready, so we were able to explore downtown for a few hours. […] We also were able to do a late check out on Sunday (2pm), and that was a life saver, because we had a late night enjoying some of the downtown nightlife. The front desk, was friendly and helpful and the in room dining was delicious. (They put bacon in my ice cream...you gotta love that!!) Our room was beautiful...there was a tv in the bathtub!! "Incidental Charges"
$100 per night incidental charges are put on card. We were double charged ($400 total) and never given our money back. We ended up contesting the charges with our bank and got the amount removed. They have a very shady computer system and apathetic employees when it comes to this.

The property has fully stocked minibars and honor bars in every guest room. The front desk will provide a key upon check in. Ice is available at your request through our In Room Dining department - we are here to pamper our guests. The hotel offers valet service for $30.00 per night with unlimited in and out privileges. There are packages available to include our parking fees, but unfortunately, the hotel does not have a self parking option. I understand you were disappointed the property does not have a hot tub, but there is a steam room and sauna available in the athletic club. I hope you were able to enjoy those! Three of my colleagues and I arrived at the same time on January 16. Two were immediately provided rooms. Two of us waited just over 3 hours for our rooms - we did arrive about 20 minutes before the 3:00pm check-in time. We had no contact from the staff during our wait, other than our questioning them. I assume the fact that the NBA teams stay there […] excuses their need to provide any sort of customer service to actual paying customers. I really enjoyed my room-- it was quiet, spacious, with a lovely bathroom and deep soaking bathtub! Hotel staff were generally very nice. However, one thing was really disappointing-- I had chosen not to rent a car so needed a taxi both mornings to get to my business meetings. On both days, the hotel doormen persistently tried to persuade me to take […] a town car for "the same price as a taxi" which I found hard to believe. They quoted me $35 for a town car to get to the Univ. District in St. Paul-- and after I insisted that they call a cab, the taxi fare was only $20. Interestingly, the taxi driver asked me if the doormen had pushed the town car option on me, and when I told him they did, he suggested that the doormen had an ownership in the town car, and that was actually illegal. I have no way of checking those assertions, however I will say that when I got in the cab, I heard the doorman yell across the street to the town car driver, "She's only going to St. Paul-- not the airport." I don't know if the Kimpton management is even aware of this situation, but I wanted to warn other hotel guests to watch out for this situation. 더 보기

We stayed in the luxury suite, which was a very nice room and would most likely stay again. There were just a few issues we were disappointed with. First, the parking is very tricky because you cannot pull up in front of the hotel. So you have to find the valet station down the street on the corner and the sign wasn't big enough that we could see it. […] We drove around the block probably 4 times before we finally found it. Second, we order fish tacos from the room service menu and they were definitely not good. Lastly, although it is advertised they offer in room movies THEY DO NOT OFFER ANYMORE.
