The rooms were great except for the showers(small and not much pressure).The best thing was the kindness and friendliness of the staff - especially the young women in the concierge lounge and the front desk. We had a very special stay. Thank you very much!

Our room was a "7" on a scale to 10...however "un-exceptable was that our lovely room smelle like cigaretts...from the moment we walked in...stale and old smelling...not like someone just smoked but like it had been a room that use to allow smolking...thank you!

My wife and I stayed at the Amway Grand Plaza as part of a weekend getaway. The hotel is nicely appointed and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. In many ways the Amway Grand reminds us of the Drake Hotel in Chicago, with its classic luxury and responsive staff.

The room The Spa and Salon The Exercise facilities (even racquetball) The Shops Dining facilities Gerald Ford Museum, just across the river on a pedestrian bridge. A squeaky clean downtown It all couldn't have been better.

Old tower halls very loud. Can hear people in hall when inside hotel rooms.

I wasn't very impressed with the service when I tried to buy some bottled water for my room (the city water is terrible in Grand Rapids!!!!). The vending machine on my floor was out of water so I called the front desk to see if I could have room service bring some up. I was told to find another vending machine. So I wandered around on the next floor […] down and couldn't find the vending machine. I finally went down to the front desk and asked where I could buy some water. I was told again to find a vending machine, blah blah blah. I wasn't in the mood to roam around the whole place trying to find some water! I did finally find the vending machine. 더 보기

The good: looks really grand, great location, some rooms very large with walk in closets The bad: pricy, old fashioned and a bit tired

My recent stay at the Amway Grand Plaza was fantastic. The service was great, the room attendants were very well mannered as were the room service staff. Very professional throughout. I highly recommend this hotel.

VERY NICE-GREAT RUTH CHRIS !

This was a very nice hotel. The staff was all very friendly and there is so much to do within walking distance of the hotel. The skywalk is nice as well. It is pricey but totally worth it. There was a wedding and a high school dance the weekend we were there but it wasn't loud and there were no problems. Would definitely like to stay there again.

Room is extremely noisy. You can hear everything in the hallway and outside. No warning of a turn down service within hours of checking in. This was my first time staying at this hotel and will not return.

From the time we pulled up to the front door, until we checked out the entire experience was outstanding. I have already recommended your hotel to several others, and am most certainly looking forward to my next stay.

Upon registering we were asked if we wanted a classic traditional room or modern one. We appreciate both styles and left it up to our concierge. We walked into our room to find that we had a beautiful view of the river and had arrived just in time to see a beautiful sunset. Overall the stay was very pleasent. We booked reservations through the hotel at Charlies Crab and the hotel and restaruant worked together to make our evening very pleasent. The weekend we stayed was very busy for Grand Rapids so we waited awhile to get our car and the room was very dry and the AC did not work so well. Always a nice experience. Friendly, courteous staff and nice amenities. We really liked the sports bar, for a hotel restaurant it was a pleasant surprise.

This trip occurred at ArtPrise time, one of the best art exhibitions ever. The hotel was first class in every way - clean, friendly staff, very good bedding!

We spent the weekend at the Amway Grand to celebrate our anniversary - we could not have had a more perfect time! The staff was incredible, the hotel was beautiful, the food was fabulous. Thank you all for making our weekend so special!

We wanted a weekend retreat and received royal treatment

Perfect location but the bathroom was out of date. The room was comfortable and the view was fantastic. My only complaint was that the bathroom didn't have a fan and looked like it did when they built the place back in the day.

What a beautiful hotel! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We stayed in the Towers, which I recommend, and had 2 window views of the river and the beautiful skyline. We never heard a sound from our neighbors and my son loved the pool and the basketball court.It was a little more in price than what we wanted to pay, but soooo worth it […] ! 더 보기

The noise level was unbelievable. The snorer in the next room might as well have been in my room with me it was so easy to hear. Also, I was on the 19th floor, and the road noise from the street below sounded like I was on the first floor. I am not a person who is sensitive to noise either. Although the service was very helpful and friendly and our room was clean, we had serious plumbing problems. Hot water came out of the cold water tap and the water pressure was variable. On our last morning, we couldn't flush to toilet or take a shower because of poor water pressure. The food in the restaurant was not terrible, but it certainly was […] bland and not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Also, be prepared for the restaurants in the hotel, the shops, and the pool to all shut down very early at night. Some of the bars/restaurants were never open during our stay and/or had very abbreviated hours. On Sunday, the pool closed at 9 pm. The location is good--close to anything downtown. However, given the cost, the room did not live up to expectations. We will not be staying there again. 더 보기

This hotel is beautiful. Staff is very attentive and check in a breeze. The bathroom only had a shower no tub. Could be updated. Tight quarters in the bathroom. Gorgeous view of the river. The ambiance was wonderful. Could of had a better wine list in the restaurant. Food was excellent.

Great hotel with an excellent staff. Only problem we had was with the hotel reservations which were not communicated correctly from hotel.com to the Amway Grand. The Amway Grand had to call hotel.com to confirm that we had two rooms reserved. Problem was handled over the phone.

The hotel is beautiful and elegant. The service everything it should be. I just had 2 complaints: The bed was not comforable. My husband and I kept rolling into the middle. The pillows were lumpy and not comfortable. Neither of us slept well. Also, I love having coffe/tea in my room, even if there is a coffee shop in the hotel. Just wanted an evening away from home with the entire family. Wanted to treat ourselves to a nice day away from gray and dreary SW Michigan and decided a night at the Amway Grand would lift our spirits. It did just that! We had a lovely stay and enjoyed our time in Grand Rapids. Residents, you are truly blessed - what a lovely city you have! Visited […] Frederik Meijer Gardens and was blown away by the butterfly exhibit. Went to the IMAX theater and then some shopping before dinner. Following that we checked in to Amway Grand for some fun in the pool with the kids - it was just divine! Staff was extremely helpful and cordial and the next morning I hit the exercise room for a lovely run on the treadmill that overlooked the pool so I could keep an eye on the kids. this was the best hotel stay i have ever had even better than a four star hotel in Chicago. The staff were very friendly .Rooms were clean .The Hotel is service orientated. It is all about customer service. I would definately go back . and highly recommend the concierge level.
