Location is the biggest benefit of this hotel. It's located in the heart of downtown, surrounded by shops, cafes, restaurants, and across the street from the Red Light District. Surprisingly, noise was never an issue, at least in the newly renovated room I stayed at on the 3rd floor. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. And the attached restaurant […] has a great breakfast buffet. There's also a 24-hour business center (computer and printer) which came in handy. The biggest drawback was the small size of the single person room, and the unusual design of the bathroom. For some odd reason, the designer of this newly renovated room, thought a shower door or curtain was not necessary! With such a small bathroom, shower water would literally soak every square inch, causing me to have to spend time quickly toweling down all the walls, floor, toilet, sink, and accessories. If not, it'd create a mildew smell throughout the room until housekeeping arrived next. And the small ceiling fan in the bathroom was broken due to what looked like clogged dust - I jammed a pen in there to give it a spin a few times (per front desk recommendation) which only worked intermittently. When I complained about the shower issue to the front desk, they said that's how all the newly renovated rooms are, and it was a decision by management. Hopefully they'll fix this soon, otherwise, I probably won't return (just an extra hassle I don't want to deal with while on my vaca). 더 보기

Perfect hotel for a weekend visit to Amsterdam. Centrally located near Dam-square. Easy access to public transportation, shopping and the rest of Amsterdam. Friendly and helpful staff, nice restaurant and clean and well-kept rooms with all you need. OK, the TV was not to big, but who goes to a hotel to watch TV all the time:)

You cannot ask for a better location in Amsterdam if want to be close to all the attractions and at the same time sleep well in privacy of your room without noise. The 4th floor where I staid has been renovated and everything is new. The rooms are spacious and dark curtains keep the light out when you want to. The central station, the tram stop, Dam […] square, Red light district are all seconds away from the hotel. This hotel is best for people who want to pay more to save the trouble of long travel and tiring walks. The price is on the higher side if you look at the hotel facilities alone. 더 보기

Looking at short notice for a stay for a business trip to Amsterdam I found this 4* hotel on offer. The photo of the room on the website was taken in the mirror. Small rooms in Amsterdam are not unusual. However on arrival I was impressed with the room size, convenience of the hotel compared to hotels charging 50% more. Great Hotel, very friendly staff, room was quite small but very comfy, everything you need is in there just very small..............if you went to amsterdam for the hotel room then you're in the wrong city. Convenient location. Close to red light district n central station. Rooms are kind of small but guess that's the standard room size for Europe. Some staff are friendly while others are not so helpful.

I travel frequently and this hotel is what might usually be called a Businessman's Hotel in the Far East. It is clean, well run and the staff is both friendly and helpful. While I would personally not consider it to be a 4 star hotel, it is a quite solid 3 star hotel. The facility is older but appears to be involved in a long term, low key renovation. […] My bath room was new but the bedroom furniture was merely ok. When I was there, the Business Center was closed for renovations but the free wi-fi made up for that. It is a great place to sleep, get work done and as a home base for seeing Amsterdam. But those travelers looking for luxurious furnishings and great views should look elsewhere. I would not hesitate to stay there again or to bring my family there on vacation. The hotel is located on the main street of Amsterdam a half a block from the center of the old city and is nestled exactly between the Red Light District (the night life area) and the main shopping district (either is but a short block away). The Central Rail Station is only 4 blocks up the street and the neighborhood seemed to be one of the safest I've ever come across anywhere. The ONLY down tick is that the cost of breakfast at the hotel is incredibly expensive. But with several fast food, breakfast restaurants and grocery stores literally within yards of the lobby, this was not a concern. I only wish that I could find such a hotel in the center of every city that I visit and that they be as affordable as this hotel is. 더 보기

The best of all worlds: great location in the middle of Dam Square, classic old-school Amsterdam feel, very clean rooms, and overall high class hotel. The restaurant was full of mostly people over 60 years old so not the hippest place. The food was good though.

I really enjoyed this hotel. I especially liked the light and airy lobby with the comfortable chairs for relaxing and reading a book. However, I was in town on a business trip and I probably should have picked a hotel closer to the train station since it would have been a lot easier (in many regards). Brilliantly located Hotel right in the middle of all the action and close to Central Station. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Very good restaurant. Has tea and coffee making facilities in room. Rooms very comfortable. Highly recommended

Best location I can think of for Amsterdam. However, the bathroom (a wet room style shower) got everything wet and did not dry quickly. Would not recommend if your stay is longer than a weekend. The hotel restaurant is very good though and there is a small convenience store nearby.

great hotel and a perfect location. Its only a couple blocks from central station, on a main street, and only about a block from the red light district. Very clean, secure, and definitely recommend for anyone to stay there.

Location couldn't be better. Really nice clean room, although a little on the small side and bathroom was tiny. You get a 10% discount at the restaurant which is LOVELY. We enjoyed our stay so much! We'll definitely be back.

This hotel does not justify 4 star rating. The rooms are very small, beds uncomfortable. Hotel lobby very small. It is on a great location but is vay overpriced.

The staff was very accomodating. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was excellent. Close to everything we wanted to see. Could walk pretty much everywhere or take one of the busses which had stops right by the hotel. The hotel also had a computer with internet access that the hotel guests could use.

I stayed at the Hotel Amsterdam with my mature-aged (she won't let me say 'elderly') Mum in May 2011. With Dam Square literally a few seconds' walk away and all the sites and sounds of Damrak right outside the front door, the Hotel Amsterdam was everything I'd hoped for and more. The staff were all extremely friendly and more-than-willing to help, from […] the initial booking, to juggling dates due to multiple airline flight cancellations, all the way throughout our all-too-brief stay. Despite being right on the main thoroughfare of central Amsterdam and with two windows overlooking a small and well-traversed lane linking Damrak and Nieuwendijk, the room was extremely quiet. Beautifully renovated (presumably quite recently) the room was tastefully decorated and very well appointed - beautiful bathroom too, though the opaque glass door might be a bit confronting to anyone other than the most initimate of friends or partners! Lighting in the room could perhaps have been a tad brighter, but we didn't spend enough time in the room for it to truly be an issue. Mum also felt the room was a tad on the small side - perhaps true but, again, it was as per my expectation of a hotel room in a European capital and our two nights in the room weren't enough for its size to present a problem! Some might say we were paying above the odds for the room - particularly with breakfast not included in the price - but to my mind it was only as much as I'd expected to pay for the convenience of being right in the middle of everything. The Hotel Amsterdam is highly recommended - I'll be staying there again next time I'm in that beautiful city! 더 보기

The good thing is location and large rooms as we booked for 3 superior double rooms. It's clean and the bathroom is shiny new! The bad thing is that two rooms we got on the first floor smelled strongly of cigarette, while the third room on the thrid floor was all fine. We made a complaint to the hotel staff but nothing changed. One small complaint […] is that the bathroom should have a better water pressure. The room price is quite high but for my experience, this is normal for such small city as Amsterdam. Overall a nice stay. ;) 더 보기

The hotel is located about 8 min from Central Station, at the heart of major shopping malls, department stores and convenient stores. It is also few minutes from major Amsterdam attractive points. Red area is at your quick walking distance! Live nights, lots of resturants, bars, etc. The breakfast is not free, but an ok resturant besides it that apparently […] belongs to the hotel. It was a low key 4 star hotel, which should be down rated. The hotel as well as the attached restaurant are okay but not good enough for the price / for a 4 star rating. Only the location is excellent. It was the powerest 4-star hotel I stayed in ever, and I am travelling extensivly all year all over the world.

The Hotel is very well placed, on the Damrak right next to the Dam Square. The Central station is visible from the hotel, The Red light District less than 4 minutes walk. The rooms are small, as typical in Europe but clean and confortable. The bathroom is modern, my had shower only, and i was i bit worry when i saw it, because it had nothing to contain […] the water from spilling out, but it had enough drop level to prevent it from happenig. I recomend this Hotel mostly do to his excellent location and to my believe, i think that they are taking advantage of the location do to the prices, i would stay in this Hotel again as long as i am able to get a good deal on the room rates. 더 보기

Helpful and friendly staff. Superior room was large and comfortable. Location was excellent.

The room was rather small and, like everywhere in Europe, air conditioning is useless. The location is excellent, though. This hotel is right in the middle of Amsterdam and you can get to the different museums, restaurants, train station and the famous red light district by walking, which is a huge plus given the high cost of transportation by taxi. […] The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The only reason you should consider staying at this hotel is for the location, its 5s walk from dam square. Everything else about the hotel is bad, the rooms are small, they have horrible locations and the staff are very unhelpful.

The Hotel Amsterdam really leverages its excellent location. The staff was very helpful. However, my tiny, nonsmoking room still suffered from smokers in other rooms. Given how little time I spent in my room, it was bearable.

Ligger bra till. Nära centralstation, spårvagn, resturanger mm. Frukosten är dyr och inte något speciellt bra dock med svenska mått mätt.

Wij hebben een heel plezierig verblijf in Amsterdam gehad. Mede door het uitermate vriendelijke personeel en het smakelijke eten zullen wij er met plezier op terug kijken.

rezervasyonumu süperior oda olarak yapmama ve parasını ödemiş olmama rağmen check in yaparken odamın başka bir cifte satıldıgı ve bana ancak standart oda verebileceklerini söylediler. Ve ancak uzun tartısmadan sonra aradaki fiyat farkını geri vermeyi kabul ettiler.

Huoneissa (meillä 3 parempi tasoista huonetta) hieman "kulahtanutta" ja rööki haisi sekä vanhanaikainen kokolattiamatto mutta nukutuksi sai hyvin. Ystävällinen palvelu, ihana aamiainen (lisämaksusta) ja aivan taktinen sijainti keskellä kaikkea korvasi pikku puutteet, eikä Amsterissa kukaan halua istua hotellihuoneessa! Mainio reissu.

Sehr freundliches, gutes, geschultes Personal und gute Organisation aller Dinge. Wir waren sehr zufrieden mit dem schönen, grossen Zimmer, dem guten Bett, den Staumöglichkeiten, der Dusche und allen Dingen, die man während so einem Aufenthalt braucht. Amsterdam kom mér svo rosalega á óvart að það hálfa væri nóg. Hótelið er staðsett á albeta stað bæjarins. Held að ekkert hótel sé betur staðsett. Við vorum rosalega ánægð og mæli ég alveg rosalgea með bæði Amsterdam og hótelinu

Hotellet ligger centralt, flera spårvagnslinjer stannar precis utanför. Nära till sevärdheter. Massor med affärer.

Annonced and priced as 4 star, but the room was totally 12 sq meter including toilet and shower room on 1,3 sq meter No space for the handwash in the toiletroom, so that was in the hotelroom just inside the entrance door. This room was 2 star quality and the price should be half of what we paid. The room was on backside and the carpent was worned. I […] will recommend to find another hotel. 더 보기

apres avoir lu les avis sur cet hotel je n ai pas eu de surprises: la chambre avait une odeur de renferme a l arrivee, meme avec une belle reduc c est assez cher et elle etait minuscule et le petit dej est vraiment restreint. Mais on est a 0 minutes du centre touristique, les fenetres ouvrent et c est un vrai plus si on veut fumer ou tout simplement […] ne pas avoir une crise de clostro comme dans la plus part des autres hotels locaux, le personnel etait assez sympa et serviable. En bref c est raisonnable mais pas l affaire du siecle 더 보기

Lekker spisesal som vi dessverre ikke brukte. Misfornøyd med at gjenglemte saker på rommet ikke ble konfrontert oss, i og med at vi ikke forlot hotellet med våre kofferter før ved 18 tiden!
