시내중심부로 모든 관광지와 근거리면서 케이블카 정류장과 24시간 파머시가 바로 앞에 있고 유명한 식당들이 도보로 접근 가능한 위치에 있어 입지로는 최고임. 또한 시내중심부 호텔들은 보통 밤에 소음이 심하다는 후기들이 많은데 생각보다 조용하고 호텔인테리어 역시 샌프란시스코 역사가 묻어 있는 건물에 모던한 인테리어를 잘 결합해 독특한 개성이 있음. 다만 컨시어지나 리셉션 직원들이 친절한 편은 아님. 샌프란시스코 호텔 가격이 너무 비싸 선뜻 추천은 어려우나 주변의 다른 4성급호텔대비는 비싼 편은 아니며 숙박예약 사이트들의 프로모션을 잘 활용하기 바람.

유니온 스퀘어에서 매우 가까워요, 대신 엘레베이터 움직이는 소리와 방 바깥의 발소리등이 방 안으로 들어오더군요. 방음은 좀 약한 것 같아요. 1인실에 있었는데 너무 작아서 실망했습니다.

좋은 호텔. 친절한 직원들. 근사한 위치. 모든 것에 가까워요. Scala 식당이 근사하지만 Starlight 객실은 형편없는 경험이네요. 서비스가 호텔 기준에 맞지 않아요.

유니언스퀘어에 위치. 샌프란시스코의 쇼핑중심가에 위치함. 차이나타운, North Beach에 걸어 갈수 있게 가까워서 위치는 말할 필요가 없습니다. 호텔이 20년대에 지어져서 클래식해 보이지만 보수공사 중이네요. 아주 고상하고 클래식해 보여요. 오래된 호텔은 객실이 작고 화장실은 정말로 작네요. 새 호텔에 비교해서 엘리베이터는 정말로 느려요. 차량을 가지고 오지 마세요. 발렛주차만 되는데 밤에는 요금이 너무 비싸고 차를 가지고 오는데 만 45분이 걸리네요. 전반적으로 좋은 경험이에요. 오래된 호텔이 새 호텔이랑 다르게 만들어 졌다는 것을 알았네요.

여기서 6박7일 지내는 동안 원래는 킹 사이즈 객실에 있었는데 너무나 작았어요. 옷장은 큰 금고 때문에 사용이 불가능 했어요. 셔츠보다 긴 것은 어떤 것도 걸을 수가 없었고 객실은 돌아다닐 만한 공간이 거의 없었어요. 변기에 앉아 있는 동안은 무릎이 문에 부딪혔어요. deluxe king으로 업그레이드를 했지만 조금만 나아졌네요. 창문이 더러워서 어떤 경치도 별로였고 화장실 창문은 물이 새는 것 때문에 화장지로 채워놓았어요. 객실에는 커피메이커가 없었지만 부탁하니깐 가져다는 주셨지만 메이드 분이 커피 패킷이 없어서 매일 프런트 데스크에 요청해야 했습니다. 두 번은 프런트 데스크에서 아무도 전화를 받지 않았고요. 한번은 요청한 […] 모닝 콜도 오지 않았어요. 전반적으로 이곳에 다시 숙박하지 않을 것이지만 위치는 굉장해요. 24시간 영업하는 7-Eleven이 모퉁이에 있고(Sutter의 서쪽) 언제나 신선한 커피, 훌륭한 샐러드와 샌드위치가 있었습니다. 가장 훌륭했던 것은 협조를 잘해주는 직원 분들이었어요. 더 보기

객실을 고르실 때 Classic King에서 Deluxe King으로 업그레이드 하신다고 무언가 특별할거라고 생각하지 마세요. 객실은 작고 경치는 다른 높은 빌딩의 외관이 보이네요. 호텔은 아름답지만 가격이 중요하시면 계속 찾아보셔야 될 것 같아요. 사람들은 좋고 친절하네요.

This hotel is unique with great historic detail. Beds were comfortable, room was clean. Decor was lovely. The only slight downsides were: walls were somewhat thin so we could hear our neighbors from time to time (but not awful, I've been in worse) and the bathroom was small with little counter space. One note: I've always thought Union Square is the best area in which to stay, however, this time we kept finding ourselves down by the water (great restaurants and shops in the Ferry Building). I stayed here with some friends for a bachelorette party. The decor is fun and modern. The customer service was wonderful, as was the location. My only complaint would be for the lack of vanity space in the bathroom. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

The Kimpton hotels are great and I've stayed at many of them around the country. This is an older hotel that they have beautifully restored. The hotel staff was polite and helpful, the hotel restaurant is actually quite good, and the rooms were very modern and clean. However, somehow, they could not figure out how to reduce the street noise. I stayed […] on the 14th floor and the noise from the street somehow was clear enough that it sounded like I was on the ground floor. Upon inspecting the windows, it appears they attempted to keep the old style windows which were clearly never designed to reduce noise. We had a great time - the hotel is in a great location to walk almost anywhere in SF - so close to shops and everything so it's a great base. The hotel was very nice, extremely clean, rooms were a decent size and bed was really comfy. The hotel bar is a great stopping point for a couple of drinks before heading out!

High price is primarily for the convenient location near Union Square. The room was incredibly small, barely had any floor space to spare. OK if you're just sleeping in the room, claustrophobic for anything else. Service was very nice, though. Next time will look elsewhere to get a bit more space, even if location is slightly less convenient.

i have stayed at kimptons all over north america, and i am never disappointed. This was no exception. Great funky lobby. room was immaculate. Staff were incredibly nice and helpful. All in all it was a great short stay. Highly recommend it!!!!!!!!

Sir Francis Drake is located near Union Square, with easy walking distance to public transportation. I found my room a tad small, but adequate. The bath room was especially cramped. The Francis Drake is definitely a 3-star business-focused hotel, and we would not recommend this as a vacation hotel nor give it a higher star rating. The location is excellent, by Union Square and on a historical trolley route (note: you will hear it). Historic decor in a historic building leaves a nice impression. The cons of the hotel: The staff is not helpful for tourists and appear focused on their business conventions. Being a historic location, the rooms and bathrooms are very small. In fact, though it was clean, the bathrooms are in need of renovation and appear dirty because of age. The hotel is excellently situated for all the sights and great for shopping however the street noise even on the 6 th floor was an issue . The constant deliveries to the shops throughout the night , departing nightclub customers and the trolleybus ( starting at 6 am) could be muffled with double glazing . Very disappointed and would not recommend it to others. Many problems: noisy, TV did not work and was not fixed inspite of my complaint, nor was a replacement available. Room coffee pot also did not work.

The drake provided a great location for first time visitors to San Francisco. with it's central location, you're able to walk to most attractions. Service was outstanding. However, the rooms, although standard size, was fair. The bathrooms are a bit small and the parking fee of $57 per night was insane!

Great trip. Great hotel. Because it was my birthday, they gave us a bottle of wine and macaroons for the room. Only complaint was the lack of service upon arrival. There was only the beefeater at the front and he was top busy to help us get our luggage out, and then when he came to help, he rushed us along.

Room was nice but small. Concierge was very helpful as was the staff overall. The wifi was pretty good and the only drawback was the delay in getting the elevator in the morning and evening. Also, the hotel could upgrade the rollaway bed which was all springs and not comfortable at all.

Bathrooms were REALLY small. There was a convention at the hotel which I think unnecessarily tied up two elevators.

We were a bit disappointed. We expected a little more up-scale, but the room was very small, outdated and generally kind of worn down...just felt like a less expensive old hotel. Some examples - hallway smelled bad, room had clearly been painted over many times like a very old house, our room had a door adjoining it to another room - which was closed/locked, […] but there was no seal between the doors, so it literally sounded like the people in the next room were right there in the room with us - no noise dampening at all. Bathroom had been halfway upgraded - tub painted but had some chips, floor and countertop replaced with marble, but the old vanity still there with cracked mirror surface (yes, strange), wooden blinds covering the very old single pane window literally IN the shower, single pane windows throughout room so lots of outside city noise, hard bed...etc. etc. The staff was very nice - we had an issue with a baby crying in the room next to us, so we asked to be moved and they were very gracious and accommodating (both rooms were similar in terms of quality). Our last stay in Union Square a few months ago was at the Marriott, which was about the same price (actually slightly cheaper). We wanted to try the Drake for some variety, but next time we'll be back to the Marriott or somewhere else. Bummer, it's got a kind of neat theme and overall legacy, but didn't really live up to what we expected. 더 보기

Unbelievably slow wi-fi, bathroom doors that do not close, drafty noisy room, dog barking at night in a nearby room for almost two hours with hotel staff unable or unwilling to do anything other than suggest that I pack up and move to another room (rather than moving the dog and its owners).
