We requested a king non-smoking room. Clerk said they put us in a king non-smoking room, but it reeked of smoke and there was an ashtry in the room. We asked to be moved. They said no rooms available. Next morning we moved to a non-smoking room which was very nice, but our initial encounter with front desk was not satisfactory.

My only real complaint is that my room smelled a bit smoky despite being a non-smoking room. Otherwise, it was a great stay. The manager comped my wireless access so that I could do a bit of work when necessary. Norman, the shuttle driver, was amazingly friendly and provided great nightlife recommendations. I also appreciated that the hotel was situated […] between downtown and the SoCo district, so both were within reasonable walking distance. There is also a bus stop directly in front of the hotel that provides service to the airport for $1.00. 더 보기

We rented two rooms for the weekend and had a great stay. We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and really love the location. I don't know if they have recently upgraded rooms or what, but I do know that our rooms this time around seemed to have been freshly updated, and we had great views of downtown Austin. Frankly, I was shocked […] to even get a room in Austin during SXSW. The service at this hotel is always good -- we use the valet parking and they are prompt about bringing your car around whenever you need it. The breakfast is pretty standard fare for hotels of this type. This time around we didn't make use of the free happy hour, but in the past it has been good, although the snacks leave a lot to be desired. Our rooms were very quiet despite the 24/7 activity due to the festival. The only complaint I have is that after we got home I noticed that there were some charges on my credit card I could not identify. Upon calling the hotel I was told that they were for two locals that had been made -- and we NEVER called outside the hotel. The two calls were from one of the rooms we rented to the other. I was told there was no way that the "system" could have done that, but in fact, the company I work for owns a hotel and I am very well acquainted with the interface between a hotel's property management system and their phone system -- these can and DO malfunction. In any case, I received a refund on those charges, and in the greater scheme of things it's a small thing to quibble about. We used room service and it was delivered quickly and all of the employees of this hotel were courteous and helpful. I was pleasantley suprised when we got to the hotel. I am always leary about booking on line having been burned in the past but this hotel was exceptional. We arrived at the hotel for a late check at 6:00 pm and was greeted at the door by the valet parking attendant and from there it just got better. The whole staff was friendly and very accomadating. […] The hotel was just a walk across the famous Austin bat bridge from the 6th st entertainment district Austin is famous for. The veiw from our 5th story window was magnificant we were looking at dowtown Austin from across Austin Lake. I would recomend this hotel to anyone who wants to have a wonderful time in Austin TX as a matter of fact I havew already recommended it to several people the day I got home. 더 보기

We picked this hotel for its location. Awesome shuttle to 6th street and a short crawl back if you go back after Midnight. Good drinks before you go out at the hotel; and no limit like Drurry Inn. Only complaint is only one cook making breakfast and the buffet portion was never stocked, we could't even find any silverware.

We ordered room service during the Super Bowl and it was delivered hot and promptly! Nice breakfast, self parking, quiet room in a good location. Love South Congress. Free internet access would be nice though.

I live in Austin, but my family stayed here to be close to the Moody Theater for a show. We had a great time! Our room was modern and remodeled. My daughter had a great time at the indoor pool. The hotel had a service to drive me to the show. Even the hotel restaurant was pretty good. This is the perfect hotel for a visit to Austin. Everything is within walking distance. Parking deck is safe and secure, breakfast is great and the managers happy hour is a great way to start off an evening. I will stay there every time I go to Austin

Took family trip to Austin with two kids in their early twenties and got the two bedroom suite. The suite had been recently renovated and was beautifully decorated and very spacious. One kid slept in second bedroom, one slept on sofa bed. Two bathrooms. Plenty of space for everyone. They are still renovating some rooms but we were lucky enough to get […] one that had been done over. Location was perfect - right next to Lady Bird Lake so we could take a morning walk, and walking distance to South Congress (we LOVED the shops and restaurants there) and capital area downtown. Location could not have been more perfect. The only place we had to drive to was UT campus, although we did drive to other places that we could have walked to. Great town - for music and food lovers alike! Would stay here again in a heartbeat. 더 보기

If you're a runner/walker and want to take advantage of the trail around town lake this is a great hotel to stay at with great amenities although currently undergoing some renovation so there is some noise.

Overall, the hotel was very nice and a good value for the price. We had a 2 bedroom suite and it was quite roomy. The free breakfast had a good variety of eggs, cereal, etc. The hotel is remodeling, so it was noisy. The location was pretty good; close to downtown, 6th Street.

Room was good. Parking was terrible, plus had to pay a fee to park. Also breakfast was buffet only, long line at times, went elsewhere for breakfast.

Requested a view (Our view was the parking garage and a Chevron gas station). The room smelled and was very musty. The hotel's 7th and 8th floor was under construction so we had no water on Saturday and when it came back on no hot water. Also, the construction started around 8:00 am, no sleeping in because of all the noise. Their breakfast buffet was […] cold. We had to ask for towel, because there were non in the room. Plus, we asked for a hotel close to 6th Street, within walking distance. We were about 5 miles, not walking distance. The mattress was also old and very soft. The location is right by the river and walking distance to all the popular spots. The room had a separate family room and bar area, very convenient. The hotel was clean and the staff is accomodating. The huge breakfast bufffet, which is free, even had someone making egg or omelets at your request. Great place to stay, I look forward to our next trip […] there. 더 보기

A good hotel, good location, but room furnishings need upgrade.

The a/c not capable enough to suck the moisture out. Room smell musky. And took over 12 hours to get room cold. Breakfast cook is cranky I guess after cooking breakfast for 27 years you would get that way. But. Almost 11 dollars for WiFi access. Really. That is just not right.

Couch in room very uncomfortable

Over priced and hasn't seen an upgrade in 20 years. Terrible!!! We were displaced by the wild fires and I would have rather stayed in the fire.

Had a great stay at the Embassy Suites Hotel. Complimentary breakfast was excellent as well as Happy Hour. We didn't bother to rent a car, the hotel's courtesy shuttle got us within a few miles of where we needed to go. Thank you Marvin! Had a great time at the hotel bar too. Thank you Stacey! The staff makes this hotel.

This hotel is a little tired, but convenient and clean enough. With a good scrubbing, it would almost have character.

This was our third visit to Austin staying in the Embassy Suites downtown. The service is great; the suites comfortable; and the staff is welcoming and constantly cheerful and helpful. Highest Rating.

The breakfast buffet was not to the standard of other Embassy Suites I have stayed in. The parking was very sub standard.

Very clean and nice and perfect for traveling with small children.

The food the service the location were all perfect. Blocks from main attractions right next to the river and some of the best room service I've ever had. We will definatly stay here again and again.

Stayed one night with my two children. Great experience in this hotel all around...clean, comfortable room, prompt valet, helpful and courteous staff, wonderful FREE cooked breakfast, easy access to the hike and bike trail, Zilker Park, etc. We'll be back!

Only complaint i have is...................whenever oneone used the ice machine, I could hear it in my room.

The hotel is nice and everyone was pleasant. Just a few things that could be better: Sofa in the living area was VERY uncomfortable to sit on. I understand it's a fold-out bed, but jeesh, you can't even sit on the thing without your back hurting. My wife and I made a recent trip to Austin for a weekend away for our anniversary. Kind of last minute trip and hotels were booked and prices quite high. We saw the Embassy was a good price by comparison and close to downtown. Just across the bridge and a few blocks to 6th street and South Congress in the other direction. Nice breakfast buffet (hot breakfast) and made to order omellete line if you want to wait for them. Ate the breakfast and really enjoyed the large room, comfy bedding and convenient location. Less than $5 cab to 6th street or SoCo, either one. If your willing both are easily in walking distance (45 y.o.) but hot in July. Great restraunts, clubs and shopping all close by. And the bridge is the famous home of the Mexican bat colony, a must see at dusk. Will stay again. 더 보기

I will start off with some positives. The hotel is nice, clean and well kept. There were no problems in that area. Unfortunatley, my room location had to be the most inconvenient place in the whole building! The smell of smoke ( cigar ) and mold chased us out of that room The staff was so unprofessional that I will never recommend anyone to go there or even invite your worst ennemi there It's disgusting

My girlfriend and I got a room here. It is close to downtown (just across the bridge), there is a great live music club (The Continental) just a half mile down the road, and both are about a $5 dollar cab ride if the ladies are wearing heels. Totally walkable if you have comfy shoes on. The room itself is one of the nicest I've ever been in, and is […] great for a couple. The bed is comfy, with nice sheets and like 6 pillows. We stayed here to attend a wedding that was close by. The staff was very helpful and friendly even though the hotel was full with a state-wide event there in Austin that weekend. The rooms are really big, well kept and up to date. Only complaint was $14 for parking, but hey, if that's the only bad thing I can say then they must be doing something right! […] Nice clean weight room with good treadmills. We stayed here specifically for the Captextri on Memorial Day. The location is great. Just across town lake from downtown. Lots of local restaurants. We liked that much better than chain food. The staff was great. We needed to check out late to get showered before heading home after the race and they were very accomodating. The free happy hour was a […] big hit and the free breakfast was very good. The only ding I had was the comfort of the furniture in the living area space. Not much different than other hotels as the pull out couches for some reason are brutal to sit in. We went to check out the bats take off from under the Congress street bridge.
