I recently stayed at this hotel and was not impressed. The rooms were ok, but were very loud because of the DJ's on the beach. The elevators worked sometimes, the staff was somewhat rude and unprofessional.The thing that annoyed me the most was that they wanted you to wear a wristband all the time you were there. Beautiful beach!!!! CLEAN hotel!!!! bed was a little hard for me and my tv didn't work too great, but that is all I can complain of...I didn't eat there or use mini bar or get all inclusive option as we were going to another hotel with that days later so this experience was to go cheaper and still have a great time and I can say it was no doubt! there […] are a lot of stores and great places to eat within walking distance and the bars/clubs are right there! my advice is try to use the bus if you need to go anywhere and that is also very close by,neighborhood safe to walk around.. 더 보기

The staff of the hotel believes that just because the hotel is prepaid they can treat you very bad.

Good hotel but not a luxurious hotel. Use this hotel just for sleeping not for staying at the hotel all day.

The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, but you can really hear the next door guests!!! Food is awful and expensive, I feel sorry for the ones that got the all inclusive! Sadly the shops and restaurants are the common Americanized franchises, nothing unique and good. Only good thing is the beach, you can not go wrong with the beautiful Caribbean! We had an ocean view room (something we didn't pay for, so apparently we were upgraded!), and it was amazing. The beach outside the hotel was great, probably the best in Cancun because it's somewhat protected by the neighboring sea wall. We spent a couple days on the hotel beach chairs under the wicker umbrellas. The location is convenient because it's […] close (within walking distance) to a lot of restaurants, bars and clubs. The lobby and rooms are nice, but the long hallways between the lobby and new hotel tower were a little annoying to walk everyday. Our biggest complaint was there was no Jacuzzi/hot tub! Just a bunch of cold pools which aren't very fun at night. I'd stay again because of the value/location, but if you are someone who enjoys unwinding in jucuzzi's on a cool night, look elsewhere. 더 보기

We booked a room w/ a master bed and a ocean view via hotels.com When we arrived they had a lot of difficulty finding our reservation. It took them ~30min to find it and only after they called hotels.com. It turns out that they booked it under a different name! As the room was unavailable, we were asked to come back later, which we did. Once a room […] was assigned and went to it, we noticed that while it was a single king bed, it overlooked the parking lot, not an ocean view as we paid for. When we informed them that we paid extra for a ocean view, they asked us to come down to the lobby to sort things out. They then were unable to find out reservation again and had to call hotels.com to confirm our reservation and that we paid for an ocean view. This took an additional ~30min. Once our reservation and service level was confirmed, they informed us that they only had an ocean view room with a double bed! 더 보기

I stayed 6 days in December 2011 and I am happy I stayed here. Location is simply great. Very convenient and fabulous ocean view from the room. Courteous and willing-to-help staff. Though I selected the hotel because it was all inclusive I was told when I booked in that the booking was not all inclusive. The person at receiption was rude and arrogant. to get to our room we had to follow a long corridoor which had holes in the wall. I had an awesome time, the hotel was great and CanCun was the best.

we stayed at the hotel during 3 days of rain, all the public spaces were leaking, water were evry were, the hotel was not preperd for this kind of wehther. but: the room was o.k. the stuff freindly and willing to assist in any reqwest. half part was close because of renovation, no dought that all the hotel needs a deep renovation.

Excellent location. Very clean rooms and well maintained. Lots of space in and around the hotel in general as well as the room. Take care at breakfast - was charged a different amount each day for exactly the same breakfast! If booking any trips don't use the agencies within the hotel. first of all, the service in the reception were wonderfull, the view from the room was amazing and the location near to the night clubs was great. In summary, great hotel, and i think that he ranked in your site as three and a half stars, while he should be more than that. thank you.

I had a great one-night stay at Krystal for a flight layover. The location is as close as you can get to the popular night clubs... in fact some other guests said they could hear the music at night, but I was at CocoBongos until 3:30 having a good time and was able to stagger back to my room easily! The hotel was pretty and very clean. Marble everywhere. […] The pool and beach area very picturesque. Everyone smiled and greeted you as you walked by. Breakfast buffet was very good. Had an afternoon burger by outside bar and that was good. They had a computer available for my use in the business center which was good because i did not have mine on this trip. My room was excellent (good bed and clean) and no smells. Spacious bathroom shower only. I only had two complaints: the thermostat in my room did not work, which i noticed immediately and they moved me to a new room. And in the new room, the shower drain was at the low end of the shower, which left half an inch of water in the shower when i was done - the marble mason must have had too much tequila. But there was a ledge and my stay was short, so a puddle of water in the shower wasnt a problem for me. My advice to this hotel is to pump a little more air conditioning in the lobby, halls, restaurants, and public areas and this would be a very nice 4 star. But in the medium to lower price niche this is an excellent facility. 더 보기

I'd stayed at Krystal many times years ago, but it's changed since then. Our room was in the new tower -- with a magnificent view of the sea and a terrific balcony -- but the bathroom walls and counter tops were dirty (old dirt, scratches, and marks) and in the hallway there was a blood stain on the wall. It was a great bargain, however, and the location […] terrific -- at the north end of the beach so not too crowded -- but we would not stay here again. But I don't blame hotels.com because it was rated as a three-star, and that's about right (although three-stars in the U.S. are generally cleaner). 더 보기

Cancun continues too be safe and very enjoyable.

This was a nice clean hotel. The waves at the beach was pretty rough, it might be calmer on the other side of the peninsula. Red flags were up and no one could swim the days I was there. The sand drops off about five feet right before the water. The pool was great.

Everything was great: location, cleanliness, service, comfort... There is only one thing drawing points, and it is the fact that breakfast included in the room fee was only served from 8.30-10. This is really too late and too short time if you go for business or work reasons

I attended a conference across the street but stayed here because it was half the price. The place was very clean and staff was friendly. It appeared the hotel and rooms had been remodeled recently and had nice wall-to-wall stone everywhere, even in the rooms. The room was comfortable enough with nice modern decor. Although if you're not going to spend much time in the room, don't spend the extra for it; you're just steps away from glorious beach (and pool) with umbrellas and chaise lounges. There was a safe in the room which was nice so I didn't have to worry much about electronics/cash/passport. Free WiFi was available in some common areas, but there was no internet in the rooms. (Apparently some rooms can get the WiFi.) One night I had to do some work requiring a Skype call, and I could not do this in the noisy bar or breezy hallways. I walked all over the place and could not find a quiet corner with WiFi, so I ultimately sat just outside the bar near the pool. In April the beach was expansive, and it must have been a good 150 feet from the pool to the ocean. The sand was beautiful and pristine. (I saw attendants raking up bits of seaweed in the early morning.) The buffet was actually pretty good with a fair variety at each meal. It opens early and closes late, and since it is a buffet you can get in an out really quickly. But don't limit yourself to that; for the same cost you can get something different elsewhere. There are several restaurants nearby, but many are "American" brands you'll find in any larger US city. If you look around you can find a taco place or even a sushi bar. But overall as a vegan I felt really out of place, and I had to look hard to find anything nutritious and filling. There's enough to survive for a short stay. (That goes for hotel buffet too.) Note that the only beans you will find are re-fried, made with lard. As you might expect there are lots of daytime things to do such as tour 더 보기

I would recommend to others. The staff is very polite and friendly, the breakfast is very good. Good location.

Great service, super friendly staff, excellent location. Pool needs to be clean often throughout the day...late in the afternoon it look disgusting, and elevators in the new building need maintenance, never work during my stay there, thank god I was in the second floor. Housekeeping service and mini bar attendant are great however, they need to stop […] knocking on guest rooms so early in the morning. On my last day, the housekeeping knock on the room door before 8:00am to make sure I knew the checking out time which is 12 noon. No considerations. 더 보기

The hotel was just ok. The beautiful cabanas that you see on the website are $25 each, even if you have the all-inclusive package. The all-inclusive package does not include bottled water, no lLobster, shrimp, steak. Everything is on a limited menu and most things that you want are carved out of the all-inclusive package. They also increase the exchange […] rate when paying for water sports activities. Instead of the exchange rate being 11.35 pesos for $1, it was 12 pesos for $1. That's ridiculous. We had a group of 14 and Patricia Mendoza was very helpful in getting things setup. Oscar and Rita at the activities desk were both helpful as well (they helped soften up the sand with picks and shovels so we could place volleyball). Jacuzzi was not working - it was luke-warm and cloudy, but the pool was nice. We did all-inclusive, which was fine for […] our group. The food is prepared for large numbers - so expect that. Check out the nice Mexican restaurant one night if possible - it's part of the all-inclusive. Just make sure to make reservations before 4pm at the front desk. We've stayed at the Krystal in Cancun 3 times in the last 3 years. As with the other 2 times in the past the stay was as expected. I guess my biggest complaint is that I wish the water temp was more consistent when you take a shower as it is up and down qutie a bit.

Nice inexpensive Hotel with great location.

We stayed at the newly renovated section of the hotel, and it was great. We had the Krystal Club too, which includes a breakfast on the top floor with a view to the whole beach, awesome. Location is just the best!

The staff was very friendly and accomodating, however the management has let the hotel fall into disrepair..... My room was VERY cold (65 F). There was a thermostat on the wall, but could not change the temperature. It was either on or off. There was NO ventilation in the bathroom (or the rest of the room for that matter), and as a result the side […] mirror in the bathroom was all rusty. There was a picture hanging on the wall next to the bed that was warped and FULL of mold. Furniture was stained, modern metal and glass table was pitted and discolored, sink was cracked, plunger was broken so could not hand wash lingerie (which needed to be done after spending the day in heat and humidity). Ended up putting wash cloth in bottom of sink to allow sink to fill with water. On the upside, the linens on the bed were clean, and the people were very friendly. There are dudes hanging out in little booths out front of the property. They can be helpful but their main goal is to pitch you on buying in on some kind of 'time share' deal. Not a bad thing but it can suck you in a bit. Overall, the hotel is decent but don't expect 5 star treatment or place. We were not allowed to use the gym. During booking it listed that it had a gym and based on that we booked at this hotel. We found out that it was an all-inclusive time share facility and we were asked to pay extra for the use of the gym and spa. It should be clearly stated that this was an all inclusive facility. Rude Staff. The room floor was filthy. Shower only had i/2 glass door, water went everywhere. NO HOT WATER for 2 days.

The hotel needs some housekeeping, definitely a Spring Break location (bottle opener in the bathroom...?) but it needs some maintenance. Size and amenities decent and the service is good.The location is great in the center of Cancun walking distance from everything.
