Bed was extremely uncomfortable, room was not very clean. Restaurant was not the best - overall rating "Disappointed"

I came to Juneau for work. I didnt arrive until 10pm and was disaponited that the hotel bar/lounge closed at 10pm so that was a little disapointing. The tv in the room was a mile away from the beds and it was a 15 inch old tv. Staff was friendly and helpful.

I don't think that they paid there oil bill. there was almost no heat and the bed was shot. I would not go here.

It's a good middle of the line hotel with friendly staff and clean comfortable rooms. The view of the ocean is good, though the road is LOUD if your window is open.

5th floor room was very comfortable, except for water situation. No hot water in mornings, and no cold water in evenings. Need to get boiler fixed, then all will be well.

The Prospector is an older hotel close to downtown Juneau, within easy walking distance to the cruise ship shopping places and museums. The room was comfortable and very spacious. For the price I thought it was an excellent choice. I am going back to Juneau and will defiantly stay at the Prospector again. The restaurant in the hotel was very good.

Very large room, nicely decorated, but rug was stained and needed cleaning. Bathroom could use some updating but it was adequate. I would recommend it as a good value for the money.

We had a king suite with water view and while not flashy it was clean comfortable & so convenient to Downtown Juneau.

My only complaint was the internet speed was inconsistent. Most of the time the speed was very slow.

Our time in Juneau was great. The Prospector Hotel is a very nice hotel. It was quiet and conveniently nest to a restaurant. Within walking distance to downtown and a nice view of the channel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. But I will say, if you are looking for fancy, this is not the place for you.

Although this is an older hotel (note the 3), it is located close enough to walk to downtown Juneau and has free parking. Rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are very comfortable. You cannot beat this price for a Juneau hotel. I have stayed several times. The restaurant is good too. Right next to the State museum and convention center.

The Prospector is an old place with partially remodeled rooms. We stayed in the waterview suite, wich looked across a major highway to the inlet. The view was obstructed by trees, bushes, buildings and cars. The room was huge, included a flatscreen in the living room, a full length bar with a minifridge, and a kitchen table. Unfortunately, the bed was concrete, the remotes did not work, the room was musty, the view sucked, there was no microwave, the food in the restaurant was pricy and average, and the complementory newspapers were at the front desk instead of outside the room. This hotel is just a five-minute walk from downtown and the cruise ship piers. Earlier reviews complained about the front desk staff. We had a much better experience, no problem with those nice people. They managed to find and silence some noisy guests. Dining room ran out of standard black tea and didn't have any again the next day but the front desk […] lady found us some from her stash. (Dining room also took more than 20 minutes to bring breakfast when we were in a hurry, explaining that boiling eggs takes a long time.) Great place--right downtown--and the people who run it were the friendliest I have ever met--especially considering that in the summer they are swamped with tourists. You would think they would be calloused by mid summer, but everyone was very very nice and very helpful. We would easily stay here again.

The hotel does not have air conditioning which was not mentioned in the hotel descriptions or in other reviews. . Water-view rooms get hot in the summer due to afternoon sun. They are also noisy because of traffic on the highway in front of the hotel. The hotel restaurant was good -- we ate there for breakfast and a couple of dinners. Rock hard beds, bad wifi, and unfriendly staff...... Big Rooms though.

The front desk people were very friendly. The room was big and clean. Beds were comfy. Bathroom upgraded. The hotel is not much to look at from the outside, but it's really nice on the inside, which is what counts. It was half the cost of the Goldbelt down the street, and the rooms were nicer. Will definitely stay again.

Decided to take a chance after reading the reviews. Garden view room was a basement room with a dirty view of a cement wall two feet away. Musty smell of a basement. Room was spacious which was nice with a walk in closet room. Had to ask for more towels as not enough were present for 3 people. Location was good for walking to boats and restaurants.

Located in down town,big and clean rooms.Micro/fridge.Wifi with good connection.Staff was helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends.

The Prospector was within walking distance to all downtown activities and had easy access to events and activities offered in the surrounding areas. Numerous hiking trails started nearby. Breakfasts in the restaurant were prepared well and substantial in size. The room was a bit stuffy so the window had to be open most of the time; room or ceiling fans […] would be a great addition. Don't be fooled by the outside of the hotel, our room on the third floor had been recently remodeled. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Our only complaint would be that, while there was WiFi, 3G from cell towers was faster. For the price, our experience at the Prospector was excellent!

good location, good rooms for how old it is. Not a single person on staff was friendly and we didn't have any needs or requests. I would hate to have needed one of them to take care of a problem or special need.

The rooms are actually really big. There's an absurd amount of closet space to boot. The staff are helpful, and otherwise just leave you in peace. The most annoying thing is that there are ~7 or so wifi networks, and only one works. And it works a bit intermittently. Other than that, it's close to the Sandpiper Cafe, which is hands-down the best place […] for breakfast in the city. And Bullwinkle's, also next door, has surprisingly good pizza. my girlfriend d and I stayed there 3weeks ago, and the tv did not work or the internet and the window leaked and soaked the carpet. this is the 2nd time staying at th prospector and both times no internet or breakfast at 6 am like they advertise. i brought this to one of the managers attention and they did not act like they cared a bit. no compensation […] no nothing. I have many friends and clients who come to Juneau every year and I will not recommend this hotel at all 더 보기

The hotel is older but in good shape. The staff is helpful. The food in the restaurant was fair. The price was very competitive.

The property is not far from downtown Juneau, walking distance. The restaurant is quite good, and the room was large and comfortable. Features such as a refrigerator, microwave, etc, made for a very nice accommodation. While this is not the fanciest hotel in Juneau, I would stay there again. It is good value, clean, and convenient.

This hotel is well located for access to activities and restuarants. The staff was generally helpful and friendly, although the rest. was woefully understaffe on Thurs. nite. The one computer they had for guest use went down on Fri. evening and no one on w/e staff was able to fix it by Sun. eveening. We had a problem with our bill, we asked for a statement […] of charges and the staff said that they could not give us one because we had made the reservation thru Expedia! and the statement would have to come f rom them! I have stayed here before and even though it is an older hotel it is clean and comfy. Staff is great. Close to downtown and amenities. My only fault was that I was on the 1st floor in the back /parking garage level and somewhat the feeling of being underground. It was a bit uncomfortable during my two day stay. The rooms were run down and it was dirty. The location was good and the "hotel" noise was not bad at all. I found myself looking for another hotel as I moved around the city as I look forward to returning to Juneau some day.

The staff was great and helped out anyway they could and arranged my taxi to and from the airport ($22 each way). There's no air conditioning but its Juneau so how often do you need it? I hit town on a streak of warm, sunny summer days so I had the windows open a lot as my room faced west and the main road. Consequently, road noise was loud until about […] 10pm when most of the town seems to go to bed. Its a short walk to the piers and local bars/restaurants.
