Comfortable stay at Sunshine City, staff were very efficient and spoke English. The hotel is very big and therefore waiting times at lifts can be lengthy, the airconditioning in the room didn't work very well and once the bathroom was used it was very warm and uncomfortable in the room. The walls were also very thin so everything could be heard in the […] rooms on either side. It would have been useful for the hotel staff to inform us about earthquake procedures when checking in as there was a tremor during our stay and we had no idea what to do - I believe the written information is provided in each room but we weren't aware of that. The lady selling Luminus Bus tickets has quite a rude manner, no smile, no thank you. The customer service has become worse compared with a few year before.

We spend about 8 weeks a year on vacation - mostly in Europe. We stayed at the Sunshine City Prince because of the cost. This hotel was perfect for our one week stay. The hotel is serviced by the Limousine Bus - door to door service from Narita (about one hour+ each way). The room was small but very efficient and clean. It is located in the Sunshine […] City mall - lots of shops and about fifty small restaurants. It includes an aquarium, planetarium, observatory, museum, Toyota interactive showroom & more. Across the street - a grocery store & connected to the Marunouchi Subway Line & about 3 blocks from the Yamanote JR Train, Yurakucho & Fukutoshin Subway - very well located (lots of shops & restaurants in those three blocks - incl. Tokyo Hands, Seibu and Tobu). It was easy to get around Tokyo - about 25 min on train/subway to Ginza, 9 min to Shinjuku, 22 min Asakusa - used named Pasmo card (half price for the kids). Discounted Disneyland tickets at the train station & there in 45 min. Tokyo is a very clean city, smokers have designated areas, the Japanese people are very gracious and helpful, there are several things to do and see, and the food is great. I would highly recommend this budget hotel and look forward to staying there again. I have stayed in several hotels in the last few years and never felt compelled to leave feedback until now - we really enjoyed our stay. Mahalo from Hawaii. 더 보기

The location is goods and close to tourist suburbs but not comfort. I would rate this hotel as 2 stars, not 3 stars as advertised

The staff tried their very best to communicate with us n english and they took pride in their work to arrange our stuffs newly in e room. Is definitely a hotel tat I'll choose again if I visit Japan!!

Need upgrade all facilities, including lobby and internet / WiFi, tourist information etc.

Excellent location. Located inside Sunshine City Mall. Convenient Family Mart located in the lobby. Hotel is a short but very comfortable (10-15min) walk to Ikebukuro station which has both the Metro, and Jr lines. Tons of shopping, and dinning surround the hotel.

IS NEAR SHOPPING MALL ONLY...NOT NEAR BTS STATION...AND THE SERVICES NO GOOD...NEXT TIME WILL TRY OTHER HOTEL AT IKEBUKURO

Great location with a stone's throw away of shopping and 7 mins walk to train station. Lots of eatery nearby too, will be spoilt for choice.

Sunshine City Prince Hotel is a simple and clean place to stay. You're located in Ikebukuro, Tokyo so the focus is more on shopping than shrines and country-side. There's 2 subway stations. 1 is essentially through the shopping center basement walkway and the other is a block away. Definitely invest in a PASMO train card for easier train station traveling. […] The hotel is on top of a shopping mall so there's plenty of restaurants if the weather is bad or you don't feel like going out. Observation floor is great to get a bird's eye view and take some really nice city pictures. Good places to eat around the area too. The only 2 things that I could really complain about are: 1) the bathroom water pressure. After some "library time", when you flush, the pressure is so light that you'll find yourself wondering if something's clogged in the drain. 2) free internet. while it was pretty cheap, many other hotels now offer free internet access. Very very impersonal service. Serious language issue even with lobby staff. Subway is near but not so near. Just ok to spend a couple of nights. Lively neighborhood.

Semi double room are small. Location convenient to subway. Very easy accessable. Abt 15mins walk to JR station. Overall : Good - small room but clean

Simply WONDERFUL! It definitely deserve more then the 3 stars status. Clean Comfortable Room, it's Location was ideal, so many restaurants within walking distance.

A LOT of foreign travelers. Which can be bothersome to some people, due to the crowd and noise that they create at the lobby. They do not wait for people to get out from elevators and try to squeeze themselves, talk and laugh really loud at the hallway during night etc. Only six elevators in such a large 40-ish story building. It seems adequate but […] at times we waited a long time and ended up being in a full house for a few minutes, while the elevator tries to stop at every single floor. Expect to wait 5-10 min at the rush hour. Location is okay, lots to shop around at the sunshine city mall (which can be good place to shop the last minute before the bus leaves) a little far from stations so we ended up using cabs a lot. The rooms we stayed were the largest of ever stayed hotel in Japan, but the air was too dry at night and we also heard kids running and neighbor having sex at 3am (only people with jetlags would be awake at such time). The wall seemed thick but Ceilings and floor transmit a lot of noise. Internet is LAN only (not free) and on and off reliability. The TV is small old school with analog reception. The Convenience store (family mart) made up most of bad experience since they are open 24 hrs and have lots of food and snack. This time, we chose this hotel as a compromise since the Yen was going to highIf we are still on a budget, we might choose this hotel again since it is still decent value for the price. Sup-bar level of staff at the best. They all seemed quite tired from group of foreign travelers with their limited ability to communicate. Near to shopping area - Tokyu Hands, Cinema, Shakeys pizza, Denny Restaurant and some japanese restaurants. Walking Distance to Ikebukuro station with Ikebukuro shopping park, Parco shopping centre.

Hotel has excellent location. It is a mere 4 minutes regular walking to the Higashi-Ikebukuro Metro Station. It is 8-10 minutes walk to the Ikebukuro station if you want to use the JR-Yamanote line. It is inside Sunshine City and you can do lots of eating and shopping within its walls. Additonally, there is a direct service of the Airport Limousine […] bus from Narita to the hotel which is really convenient and worry-free. The standard rooms however are very small but CLEAN ( which is very important ) , so it is still okay as you only sleep there anyway. For the rate we got from Hotels.com, it is value for money. The Sunshine Prince is not a fancy hotel. You bring your own bags up to your room, there are tours in and out of the lobby all the time. But for shopping at Otome Road, it couldn't be more convenient. The downside is the longish walk to/from the train station, when you're carrying heavy bags, that's a drag, but there's always something to see on Sunshine-dori, […] so it's a nice walk. 더 보기

The hotel is interconnected to the mall and other buildings in the block. There is an underground passageway where you get back to the street level adjacent to Tokyo Hands. While exploring the areas of the mall, which closes at 8pm and other underground areas, it can be also good to explore those on the street level. Other reviews about the noise are true. We were on 33rd floor and there was noise from the Americans next door. Thankfully the hotel reception staff are very quick at getting noisy guests to be quiet, so have no trouble in recommending this hotel. Everything was as expected and the hotel staff spoke alot more English than other hotels I've visted. The bell captains were very nice to mind our luggage after checkout and booking the airport limo was a breeze. Hotel itself is a bit aged but priced fairly, especially for this location. Recommend! :)

Nice and clean hotel. Very convenient with a small supermarket across the street and a shopping centre next to hotel. Just a little far from the train station and a hassle to drag the luggage bags for quite a distance. Airport limousine service available at this hotel. The location of the hotel is very convenient as 2 train stations are just about 3-5 minute walk away. For first-time visitors to Tokyo, finding the hotel is not a problem as it is in the route if the airport limousine. Going back to Narita is also easy since you just need to book ahead at the hotel counter. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. There […] is a convenience store at the ground floor. There are so many restaurants nearby as it is attached to a mall. Tours can also be conveniently booked through the hotel or by calling the tour company. The hotel is showing some age, and the staff is helpful, though show some strain under the busy volume and struggling with English. The price was one of the best in the city, in a city that is very expensive to stay in. Ikebukuro is great, with lots to do and see. The airport limousine bus goes directly between the hotel and Narita airport.

The hotel was sober, the room was nice and clean, quite small though. The location is great, just 5 min walking from ikebukuro station.

this place has it all! the local mall is connected to it with many restaurants. a brisk walk to the train station is about 7 min away and local restaurant are plentiful in this "entertainment" city. i will be back!

Like Sunshine Princess Hotel, comfortable to shopping and dinning. And everthing OK.

About 10 minuites from the jr subway station. room service was good and clean, but the building seems to be old (smudges on the wall..), and so are the electric appliances(?). If it wasn't for the 50% discount i wouldn't have been satisfied.
