I only stayed 3 hours at novotel Darwin, If I had stayed longer I think I will be vomiting every where in the room... the room smells like paint and the carpets are very smelly too, the AC also very noisy, the ceiling is very dirty....the curtains all broken... people can see you from out side.. We were very lucky to be upgraded to a newly refurbished room on the top floor. There was a wonderful view over the Darwin Harbour. I did wonder if we were the guinea pigs for the new room as there was not any hot water until we asked about it and there were no rubbish bins in the room. Also we did not get our wake up call so luckily I am an early riser. The […] hotel is in a very central position.. walking distance to the shopping streets and a beautiful spot for an early morning walk. The room was really beautiful and breakfast was included so I can only say good things despite the above little niggles. I would return. 더 보기

We loved everything about the Novotel. A real plus is that a full breakfast was included which is quite rare in Australia and very expensive to buy out. Extremely helpful staff.

This hotel was built in the early 80's. I doubt it has been altered much since. Location is nice - around the corner from Mitchell St and hotel has a view of the bay through small windows, but doesn't really take advantage of the view. Our stay was greeted by a non-existent doorman, we lugged our bags from the taxi up a ramp ourselves and waited in […] the line in the lobby to check-in for around 20 minutes. Not a big crowd, just some very slow people at the desk who didn't acknowledge us, and despite seeing that we had waited a long time spent 10 minutes explaining his reccomended Darwin attractions to the old couple in front of us. Then when we asked him how to get to Hanuman as had booking there in about an hour, he had no idea, telling us that he hadn't been in Darwin long. When asked if we could have a room on the other end of the hotel from the construction site next door, our concern was brushed off with "it should be alright" and no follow up. The lift was charming, the carpets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a few years. When we finally got to our room, it smelt stale and stuffy. I went straight to the window to let in some air but there was a sticker on the window that it couldn't be open due to safety. It is quite simple to fit opening windows that open from the top or with a stopper so they don't open wide enough to be unsafe. The curtains were old cheap and falling off the rails. Our room remained stuffy for the remainder of the trip. Bed was fine, bathroom however was tiny with poor ventilation. The shower was so tiny and the crappy shower head had strange temperatures and pressure so that it was either too hot or too cold and nowhere in between. It was almost impossible to avoid getting water on the floor because of the flimsy shower curtain and angle of the shower head, so the floor and bathmat was sopping wet and needed changing every day. The Novotel is slightly tawdry, not well-taken care of, but it's right across the street from a park and the ocean. We were given a room right above the huge, noisy A/C units and asked for a quieter room. The clerk wanted to give us the room below ours (and even closer to the units). Then, we were sent to the other side of the hotel, where constant […] construction work was taking place. Duh? Finally, a manager moved us to the center of the hotel, which was much quieter. The room had a bedroom and "livingroom", and the A/C was in the livingroom, so the bedroom stayed pretty warm at night (Darwin is hot and steamy). 더 보기

Starker Schimmel im Badezimmer und Einbaukasten, sehr abgewohnt, lose 10 cm herabhängende Deckenverkleidung, Kriechtiere im Bad, Haare an der Duschwand, Bettdecke verschmutzt. Das Zimmer unserer mitreisenden Freunde war im gleichen Zustand. Und unsere Beschwerde wurde vom Personal einfach ignoriert.
