Stayed for three nights, bed never got changed or made, don't think they were clean when I checked in. Towels never were removed from floor so ended with a pile of dirty towel, spoke to the front desk and nothing changed

Lobby smelled of smoke..well stank of smoke. But my non smoking was clean and smelled only of cleaning products. Beds can use more comfortable pillows. My pillows were of the solid foam type and I could't squish them to my preference.

We stayed at the Super 8 for a short weekend of shopping and were looking for a quiet, clean place to stay and the Super 8 South Portland was exactly what we wanted. It was great. Front staff of husband and wife was very friendly the first night, second night was husband's father and mother, not so friendly. Fitness room was locked entire stay and there was breakfast served. Heat didn't work the first night, took a time to get it fixed the second day. However for the price it was all livable.

No handle on the bathroom door, no microwave or mini-fridge and no continental breakfast. Otherwise, ok for one night.

The friendly desk clerk, and a clean room and bed are really all I needed. That it cost 20%r of what I paid the in Boston the previous night was a big bonus.

I'd recommend this hotel to others because it was only a bed and bathroom close to the airport. That was all I was looking for.

We needed a cheap place at the last minute and this fit the bill. We chose to spend a bit more money for a lot more comfort the following night. If you are on the cheap and know you aren't spending a lot of time in the room, this is your place. Motel in much disrepair. Phone in room didn't work and it took 3 tries to get a replacement. No towels in bathroom when I arrived and was told they were all out being laundered and I'd have to wait. Refrigerator and microwave in room not plugged in or out of service, young man at check-in desk not helpful at all. What an awful experience. We arrived around 6 pm and the maid was only cleaning the room. Finally got in the room and there was no a/c, picked up the phone to call the front desk and it came apart in my hands. Went to turn on the lamp and there was no bulb in there. had to go down to the desk to tell them because the phone did not work. On the way […] down we pass the work out room with a big "out of order" sign on it, the vending machine was also out of order. They turned the air on at the front desk for us and sent someone up to fix the phone but he ended up replacing it because it was not fixable. I read previous reviews about this hotel and since I am not a very picky person I did not heed the warnings. I made the booking anyway because everywhere else was more expensive, and this hotel was close in proximity to where I wanted to be. I tell you now, unless you want to feel disgusting, creeped out by the disturbing uncleanliness of this hotel, […] and feel like you are in a low-grade horror film...than by all means stay there. It was cheaper, but i would not recommend it unless you have a gas mask. The windows are sealed shut, the floors are so dirty that our socks were black within minutes, the tub had 1 foot of water in it, the air conditioner did not work, the toilet was orange/yellow with flies in it. I don't ask much from a hotel. Clean and dry on a rainy night is all that really matters. This one was dry, but not at all clean. We stayed at this hotel after 2 full days of sightseeing in NH and ME; we were exhausted when we checked in. We failed to notice the trash & abundance of cigarette butts just outside the front doors as we were tired and it was dark when we checked in. The first room we received, the bedding was absolutely filthy. As this is a budget hotel, it was no […] surprise that there wasnt a mattress pad on the bed, however, the bedding filth was unacceptable. There were dirty shoe prints on the pillowcases and the sheets were stained. The blanket had either chocolate or feces on it and there was dried blood on the comforter. I asked for and received another room which was slightly better. The king size pillows had standard pillowcases on them giving us a view of the verfy old and stained pillows. The pillowcases lacked show prints but did have dirt on them. The sheets were also stained. At least I hope they were stained, they appeared to have old urine stains on them. The blanket did not fit the king size bed as it was, at best, a queen size and the comforter was unusable as it had several unidentifiable stains on the underside. The towels were at least clean so we draped them over the pillows to get some sleep. The included "continental breakfast" was nothing more than weak coffee, one quart of 2% milk, one pitcher of rancid smelling orange juice and the breakfast foods were limited to slices of white and wheat bread and mini muffins and 2 choices of dried cereal. While the hotel staff were pleasant enough although disinterestefd, the disgraceful state of the hotel, which appeared to be quite nice in years past, was sad. The rugs were linty and dirty and the glass in the lobby was filmy and dirty. I have stayed in several other "budget" hotels but this one was by far the dirtiest one Ive ever seen and if my husband and I hadnt been so exhausted, we never would have remained at such a place. Very disappointed that after being told internet was working, found not to be the case after arriving, Problem has been ongoing for multiple weeks and have been given multiple excuses as to why it is down. Not satisfied.

Picked it because it was cheap & close to airport. Big mistake! Was quiet & cheap. The only good thing I can say.

I chose this hotel based on price alone, so I got what I paid for. The first room I had was "Non-smoking" but smelled like smoke, the smoke detector was disconnected and two lamps were broken. We requested another room. Our second room smelled like smoke as well but the smoke detector was intact and the lamps functional, so I did not have to worry […] about my family's safety. There was food left in the room's refrigerator, the carpets had not been vacuumed and there was an unsightly smudge on the bathroom wall. We stayed there two nights- at beginning of trip and end. The motel is in urgent need of upgrade- the window blinds were literally attached with scotch tape. Both nights they had difficulty assessing my hotel.com reservation. Staff was cooperative and let us change rooms the last night when the queen sheets on the king bed clearly showed evidence of […] bed bugs. One of the worst hotels we have stayed in. Shower curtain full of mold, only one set of towels in the room, we had to go to the office to get the extra towels. The vending machines were all broken. This is not a hotel I would stay in again.

This was not up to par for Super 8s. The internet was broken, two light bulbs in my room were burned out or I couldn't plug in the lamps, there was an antiseptic smell in the halls. It was clean, however.

We drove into the parking lot literally over a pile of trash because the dumpster had over flowed. Trash everywheres. Then we walked up the steps, the back yard grass was up over our knees a broke down lawn mower abandoned right by the steps. Our room stunk so terribly bad it was almost unbearable and it was supposed to be smoke free. Not even a coffee […] pot in the room, thread bare towels and by the end of the evening my socks were completely black on the bottom from walking across the floor. In all my years of traveling and staying at hotels from the time of my early childhood with my parents to current day in my mid-40s with my kids, I have NEVER EVER EVER stayed in a dirtier smellier hotel/motel. MOLD MILDEW STINK! They keep the AC off in between guests, have no ventilation here. Have water damage and moisture under the carpets and the […] windows nailed shut. If you or your kids have asthma, for God's sake, stay away! It's a death trap. And they are just so ignorant. The staff are the owners... and they pretend like nothing's wrong. Lived up to the 2 star rating. Chosen due to lowest price that given night. Room was adequate. On arrival no towels, cups. 2 visits to front desk needed to obtain towels. Friendly staff.

Smoke alarm went off at 1 am in am and stayed on for a very long time. Bathroom door didn't shut. Air conditioning broken. Not enough pillows. Toilet had trouble flushing. Nobody at front desk when checking out at 6am.

This was a FOUL room. Personally it was one of the dirtiest rooms we have ever stayed in. We had a last min trip, a 4 hour ride, and took the first room we could find; namely this hotel. A sloppy wooden box holding a refrigerator which had never been defrosted. 9. A blanket which had MANY DRIED FLUIDS on it. 10. A mattress protector too small which kept springing loose all night. 11. for the price it was decent. the smell of the cleaning chemicals was so bad in my nose that i had a hard time breathing. It was clean but the fumes were bad. The front desk clerk was very nice and extremely helpful in helping us navigate the city.

This hotel had incompetent staff. The room smelt absolutely awful. There was hair still on the toilet and in the shower. The decor was horrendous. The drawers were broken and the ac was less then adequate. My boyfriend slept with the blanket provided and woke up itchy with bed bug bites all over. By far, our worst hotel stay ever.

Our hotel rooms had a disinfectant/pesticide odor that was really strong. The tub/shower drain was very slow also. The room needed a good airing out before renting it and it did not have that airing out.

The bathroom was nice size, bedding was adquate, not over the top. The room was clean. All doors stuck in their jambs - summer wood swelling, but an issue just the same. The complimentary breakfast was marginal. It was extremely basic - no frills. It just wasn't tasty, and we ate next door - there are good places on either side. Bathroom floor grout was cracked and missing in places; this made me uncomfortable because the floor could not have been properly cleaned in its condition.

We checked in on August 13 around 4pm, the desk staff was friendly but the computor wasn't very quick. Once we recieved our room key we opened the door and found the room hadn't been cleaned after the last people had stayed there, beds were unmade, bathroom in disarray, just plan dirty! We returned to the desk and they seemed shocked that the room hadn't […] been cleaned yet. They moved us to the 2nd floor to another room that was ready for us. The next morning I spoke to the supervisor who said she had to work till 3am cleaning rooms because she had fired her night staff. the room was ok, tv stand was broken, there was no coffee machine, and no extra pillows, but it was near the waterpark and plenty of stores around the area. maybe place a sign to say where the stairs are located,this was my first stay at a super 8 motel. i would try another. thank you kathy

Nice place to stay if you want do some shopping, close to the Main Mail. Room are clean and personnel very nice!

When we first got there I had to ask for "Hand Towels", "Face Cloths",and more soap................ The bathroom was "Filthy" ..............Had to have someone come clean it ........ The person that cleans needs a lesson on how to clean ..................I don't think that room was vacumned in over a week .....................Will never go back there […] again.......................... I got a smoking room-the bed sheets looked likie they had been used before. The room was not much biggewr than a closet.

Revoltingly stinky. Dirty is an understatement. Mold on shower curtain. Never again.

Comfortable beds, clean enough. Not a fancy spot, but ok. They list that they have free wifi, but it didn't work the entire 3 nights that we were there.

Nice location right off the highway and close to where I needed to be. With that being said, I thought that the service was poor. The clerk sent me to the wrong room and once I found the room I was nearly overcome with the smell of amonia or some other cleaning solution. I had to leave the door open in order to get some fresh air.
