I would not recommend this hotel. The exterior was scary. Drunks in the parking lot and lobby. The parking lot did not have lights or cameras. Our room was a dump. I have stayed in many hitels and motels, this was one of the worse rooms I hotels and motels; This was the worse I have seen. There was hair in the bed, the carpet had two large burn marks, […] the sink did not work, and there were two small holes in the wall my son was calling bullet holes. Over all the hotel wasn't horrible for it's price. The event I was attending was in downtown Chicago so it was a little far from that. Our room was in decent condition, however, upon talking to some other guest they said their room was very "beat up". But when they mentioned the condition to the people in charge it was fixed instantly. So it may not […] have been as nice as one of the hotels down town, but it also wasn't as expensive either. I arrived at the hotel late at night and when driving through the area at night is seems like a shady neighborhood. When I arived at the front desk there was a security guard and servalance equipment. I began to question weather the area was safe. I did some research and came to the conclusion that melrose Park is mostly just old and not the ghetto. […] The security and servalance was a plus. Knowing your car and everything is being looked after 24/7 is a good thing. When I was walking through the hotel I found alot of disrepair. I also noticed right away that they are doing alot of renovation to fix the disrepaied stuff. When the renovations are done it will be a great hotel for the price and is only 30 min from downtown. Provided Chicago is not having the usual 24/7 trafic jam. I will definitely stay at this hotel again! 더 보기

The place was horrible...it was dirty, smelly, and the surrounding was awful. We will never ever stay or go near that place ever again.

The hotel was the worst i have ever walked into the outside of the building looked abandoned. when i walked int to the hotel it was like something out of a horror movie. the smell was awful. when i got to the room the pillows had gross looking stuff all over. the room looked like it had not been cleaned in months. would never have expected what I walked […] into. 더 보기

Horrible!

I checked in and there were small children running around the lobby. A security guard at the desk. Both entrances were propped open one with a trash can the other with a water hose holder. there were men outside and down the hallway. They would not speak or look you in the eye. I told my son it the door did not lock we were going elsewhere paid for […] or not. The outside looked like a dump. I know it was a cheaper hotel, but you should feel safe. I felt so relieved when we checked out the next day and gone from there. it was so nasty we did not use the bathe tub and the hallway was junky and nasty. Needless to say no more Hotels.com. 더 보기

Complimentary airport shuttle costs $7 per person, only runs occasionally. Hair and dirt in bathroom ( lots of hair - not just a little bit ) - room smelt damp and carpet was sticky. Noisey at night - lots of banging and running in hallway - fire exits left open for anyone to walk in. Hotel staff not bothered about complaints - they don't care - just […] came and asked people in hallway to be quiet - did not stick around to see if they did. Tatty hotel in a rough area. The hotel is not cleaned and there is a strange smell in the room. No cofee in the pot and no cups on the counter to get some liquids.

Hotel did not offer Airport transportation as advertised. It cost an additional $30 for taxi fees. Breakfast bar was a sticky mess when the orange juice machine exploded.

This was not a pleasant stay especially for a woman alone. There is too much night traffic in the hotel hallways and paper thin walls.

I was in a bind at Chicago O'Hare Airport. I missed my connecting flight and needed to find a hotel near the airport. I found this hotel using Hotels.com and selected it specifically because it stated in the amenities that the hotel offered complimentary airport shuttle service. Once I made the reservation, I contacted the hotel to arrange an airport […] pickup. The hotel agent said the hotel did not offer any airport shuttle service and offered no explanation. She did, however, offer the name of a taxi service, which she said would cost me 'only' $15 each way. In fact the fare was $26 each way. When I arrived at the hotel, a 15 passenger van was sitting in front of the hotel with a sign painted on the side stating 'Complimentary Airport Shuttle Service.' Though I did not receive an explanation for the lack of available shuttle service, I am left to assume that the shuttle driver either quit or did not show up to work. When I arrived at the check-in counter, I asked the clerk, who, though courteous and friendly, informed me that the only shuttle service to O'Hare was by taxi, offering no explanation for the lack of free shuttle service. Due to this hotel's failure to provide the promised services listed on the hotels.com website and (I later found out) Travelodge website, I paid $55 for shuttle service that I did not initially intend to pay. In my opinion, if a hotel advertises that they provide shuttle service, they should do so and if they are not able to provide the service themselves on a given day, they should be required to offer a comparable alternative, such as a taxi cab voucher or the like. I was very disappointed that due to this hotel's failure to meet a contractual agreement to provide the services it promises on its website. Distressed passengers at Chicago O'Hare be advised. 더 보기

There were a number of issues that made my stay less than ideal. First, the toilet was physically broken. It functioned, but it was not as stable as it could have been. The hotel's website stated they had a complimentary airport shuttle, but on arrive I was informed that this service was only available to groups of 10 or more. I also noticed that the […] carpet in the room was not as clean as it could have been: the bottoms of my feet were black from the dirt. I stayed at this hotel because it was cheap and the location was relatively close to where I needed to be. Just be warned that you are staying in a cheap hotel: The sink in my room would sometimes drain and other times not. It was filthy with what seemed like residue from the drain constantly backing up. The hot water was non existent. It would get […] hot, but was barley a drizzle coming out the faucets (sink and shower). Finally, the AC didn't work. Also know that the neighborhood is not the best. I actually got propositioned by a prostitute while at the hotel. 더 보기

although the hotel is close to the airport (ORD) it cost $25 to get there by cab. There is no shuttle service like the website said. The rooms were dirty, only spent the one night out of the pre-booked three nights there because I arrived in the evening and it was late to try find another hotel. did not feel safe there. It was far from affordable transportation […] such as the train. it cost $50 to get a cab to the city. never going back. Checked out the next morning even though I was not getting my money back for the other two nights I didn't care, I just had to leave. 더 보기
