The hotel is centrally placed and well maintained but the "vintage" rooms are much over rated and over priced. The rug looked as if it were last cleaned several years ago. Don't think I'd recommend it or stay there again.

Hotel is beauitful spacious rooms and really nice personnel. Loved it and would stay again.

But otherwise perfect. Only thing I missed was a rooftop pool. But seriously, for real folks, this place is really lovely. In a Texas way. If you can get a good rate, book it!

Lovely old building. Room was very expensive and our view was of giant air or heating units. Noisy from them and guests coming in at all hours. Hotel staff were helpful and accommodating. Way overpriced for the room we got. Makes me think they give the undesirable rooms to online sites just to get rid of them. Had a great dinner at the Grille.

We had a particularly wonderful meal and dining experience at the Driskill Grill the night we stayed. The Maitre'd Richard was highly professional and helpful..and even made calls on our behalf regarding questions we had for after dinner entertainment. This hotel is way overpriced.

The Driskill is a grand dame of a hotel. The furniture is very Texan. All of the staff were super friendly and I was very pleased with the concierge who made a reservation at a restaurant and drove us there and waited till we got in. I was suffering from low blood sugar and she went the extra mile to make sure I was taken care of. I would have loved […] to have a coffee maker in the room but we had to get dressed and go down to the lobby for our first cup. The only complaint was that they had so many switches that we could never figure what turned what on or off. 더 보기

Teh Curio room was the perfect size, since I was traveling alone, and it came at a great price.

My husband and I arrived at the Driskill having paid for the smallest room in the hotel, being that it was what we could afford. The Driskill upgraded us to one of their nicest suits in order to give us a nice wedding night. We are forever grateful for their kindness to us! We have always wanted to stay in the Driskill Hotel, but never did because of the expense, but got an amazing deal online and it lived up to every expectation we had. After reading the reviews before booking, I was a little skeptical, but the staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The bell man even offered to go fill our ice bucket when […] he saw we had drinks with us. We tried to eat in the cafe/restaurant downstairs, but there was a 30-45 minute wait for breakfast/brunch, so we skipped that. Everyone's food in there looked amazing and it smelled wonderful walking by. We will definitely stay here again in the future! As an fyi, the parking is pretty expensive and you definitely should call ahead to get your car, as they get busy quick. You can walk everywhere downtown from the hotel though, its just when you are ready to leave or need to drive, they need a good 10 minutes heads up. 더 보기

Everyone must stay there at least once in life! Great location, service and history.

Based on previous feedback I upgraded to a jr suite to make sure we were comfortable and had enough space. The suite was very nice but the bath was a bit cramped. The beds were super soft and luckily we had a two room suite which insulated the noise coming from the hallway. When we first went to bed we could still here the noise from a wedding reception […] downstairs but the noise quickly faded once we turned on the tv. The bar/lounge is fantastic with incredible, historically significant art. What I loves most was the ability to walk right across the street to partake in the best of Austin nightlife on 6th st. We stayed here one night while in Austin to attend a concert at the Frank Erwin Center. The hotel is historic and therefore has it's old creaks and groans. We only experienced minor blemishes such as a slightly uneven floor and a broken fan switch in the bathroom but it did not seriously impact the comfort of our stay. The beds were some of the most […] comfortable i have slept on. The location is very convenient to the 6th St bars and within walking distance to some good restaurants. We took a cab to the Frank Erwin center for $5 and change. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again if the price is right. 더 보기

This hotel was beautiful! I was traveling with three kids, one who will be attending UT in the fall. They absolutely loved the hotel, especially hearing about the hauntings! The room was pure luxury, the beds were very comfortable and the overall hotel atmosphere was fantastic! Planning on visiting again, as soon as possible!

Service was amazing, room service tasty, location central, hotel itself stunning and historically interesting. I will go back.

We had a great dinner on East 6th, then some billards and dancing on 6th street and then the warehouse district. 50% of the people were dressed like Santa and it was so fun. Nice to be able to walk back to the hotel. The Driskill was beautiful with all the Christmas decorations.

if your staying in austin, the driskill is in a great spot right on 6th street near everything.

The Driskill Hotel is a wonderful, beautiful place to stay. We were delighted with all of the details that such a historic hotel offers, as well as the ambiance. We actually decided to stay in our room for the night after having gone out for dinner, just to enjoy the hotel more! Great location, beautiful hotel, friendly staff, but disappointed in the expensive parking. Very comfy room and nice bathroom. The hotel bakery is a must! Delicious croissants!

This was my husband's first time to Austin so I wanted to make sure he really experienced the city. Even over New Year's, the Driskill was fantastic. The staff was wonderful and helpful, and even when they couldn't particularly help us, they pointed us to those who could. It's a great location in the middle of town, and you can easily access the Capitol, […] 6th Street, 2nd Street shopping or even walk along the river. They even had two levels of New Year's parties, those who wanted a formal affair with a sit-down dinner, and a really affordable option for those of us who just wanted to drink. As a Christmas present I gave my husband an evening in the only hotel in Austin he wanted to stay in. He was so excited and did a bunch of research on the building and its history. As we checked in I was a bit disappointed that they had already taken down the Christmas decorations (it was only the 28!) but we were given a great room. The service was […] impeccable. We spend time in the bar for happy hour listening to the musicians and enjoying some tasty snacks and yummy drinks. After a wonderful sleep in a super comfy bed, the shower and bathroom soaps were superb. We ended with a yummy breakfast in the 1886 cafe which topped off a wonder 18 hours away from the kids! 더 보기

This is a wonderful old hotel, very well maintained, terrific location, and great service. My only real complaint--I wish we had coffee in the room. Also, the hotel bar has added a TV, which, in my opinion, detracts from the classic 19th century elegant ambience I remember.

Simply wonderful. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and available for a very reasonable price. The proximity to 6th street is extremely convenient.

I stay at the Driskill when I am in Austin for one reason. They represent the best and never stop trying.

cant beat it pretty breathtaking

The Driskill truly is a grand hotel. A very well maintained older hotel, and it's convenient to everything in downtown Austin. The bar appears to be a meeting place for most of Austin. It was a very good value for us. The service was responsive and efficient. The staff was attentive and of good mood. The immediate area is primarily the 6th Street music […] and club scene. Lots of collage students plus a very eclectic collection of Austin 'characters'. Many fine restaurants within easy walking distance for most people. Mass transit is 'OK' but you might consider renting a vehicle. Austin has a car sharing program (car2go), but I'm not in a position to comment on it, since I haven't used it. There is bike rental and Austin has some designated bike lanes. I'd stay at The Driskill anytime. It's a very fine well-maintained older hotel. 더 보기

Perfect location! Took kids and was sure to order the fresh cookies and milk for bed. High class accommodations all the way around.

Very nice stay! Delicious cafe and bakery! Parking is a bit pricey, but everything else was delightful!

Our only complaint was that on the 3rd day there was no hang tag to order morning coffee available and getting in touch with Room Service took 15 min and 4 transfers by the room phone, despite having started by punching the button for "Room Service". Otherwise -- a great hotel and we will definitely stay there again.
