I stayed for a week. Overall, I am satisfied. Room was clean and tidy. But couple of issues needs to be resolved for me to stay again: no microwave in the room, you have to rent one from the front office with extra cost. Great deal when we booked 2 nights online. Great location. No problem with parking, which is included. Room was not that great. Some items in the room had been upgraded and others, the carpet, wallpaper, and bathroom tile and tub, had not. It was clean and comfortable and did the trick. We might stay there again if same deal was available....

The room was very nice and clean. CONS off beaten path if you are relying on Public transportation,almost none,only one bus and it quits running early. Nothing within waking distance. Some of te other hotels had restaurants but did not feel comfortable to walk to them at night. Vending machines didnot work. And spa jets did not work

The only drawback to this Hotel is not close to anything. If you do not have a car,very hard to get around. Only one bus line to transit station and stops running early. If I stay here again,I would have to rent a car.

No toiletries in the room at check-in. Since we got there late, front desk could not provide housekeeping services. Next morning, the desk person, who was texting on cell phone, took my room number and promised to send someone over. They never came!! I resolved the problem myself later by talking to the maid directly. Room was too small for two people, […] even with only one bed in it. This hotel was ok, but not great. Had a lot of trouble with internet. The signal strength was horrible. Probably will try a different one next time.

The room they gave us was room 101. Very noisy at night due to location to office. Had people walking from office to the laundry and maintenance room all night long talking on phones and pushing carts and dragging luggage. Made it very hard to get any sleep at all. I would not stay there again and we go to San Diego 3-4 times a year.

There is no doubt in my mind that there are better, well... maybe FANCIER places to stay. However, with free internet access, free parking, and being right in the middle of Mission Valley we have found Howard Johnson Inn, Motel Circle, San Diego CA, to be excellent. There is no doubt in my mind that you get your $$'s well spent. It is not what will […] probably rate as a four or five star motel, but for a night or two, which fits our schedule, it is (almost) perfect). (Nothing compares to home sweet home!) i check in and found that a motercycle gang was staying there too (woof pac) they took up the parking places with there cycles and were very LOUD up almost all night. I call the hotel deskand they told me that they were not going to do any thing about it because they were paying guest. i will never stay at a howard johnson again if that is what you […] have too look foeward too.BEWARE! 더 보기

I was here for 28 days. Just moved to San Diego Good price fair quality, great staff, can't beat the location!

Thank God I only had to stay there one night. The first room they gave me was dirty! Walls were diry even the ceiling. Carpet was stained. I was able to switch into a different room, that room was a little better. Cleaner then the first. Not a place for my family. The lady at the front desk was the only niice thing about the hotel.

Horrible. was dirty and falling apart. Worse hotel I stayed in. VERY VERY upset with stay.

Bed bugs. Noise. Smog. Think twice.

We all expect to sacrifice certain things for this price -- threadcount, etc. But at this hotel, you'll sacrifice more than you expect. They claim to have "free wifi". This isnt true. Theyre playing the same scam many cheap hotels play -- advertise free wifi, and when you cant connect, claim that either "its down right now" or "its a technical error […] on your end". My favorite part had to be when I asked the girl at the front counter where the router was, so that I could try connecting from close to the router. Her answer: "whats a router?" Isnt that a little like serving breakfast, and asking "whats a plate?" But thats a common sacrifice at cheap hotels. No, the worst thing about my stay was the scam the girl at the front desk is running with the shuttle companies. I asked her to call SuperShuttle for me. She replied "I can call someone who will do it for cheaper than them". I said fine. Her shuttle arrived on time and got me to the airport on time, but then once we arrived charged more than the already overpriced Supershuttle. I only wonder what cut shes getting. Very very disappointing. This franchise has compromised the standards of Howard Johnson. The rooms were very unclean and carpets have not been vacuumed. The service of the staff however was friendly, but the overall management lacks the basic knowhow to run a hotel. BESIDES OUR DOOR JAMMING AND HARD TO OPEN. WE HAD TO PUSH THE DOOR WITH BOTH HANDS! EVERYTHING ELSE WAS GOOD. CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST WAS GOOD.

The mattress felt like a prostitutes playground and I'm 90% sure I contracted a staph infection during my one night stay. I left a night early, would rather drive the couple I hours back to LA than stay another night.

The hotel was very conveniently located. I was pleased that the price charged by Hotels.com was exactly right, no extra charges were added. The room was clean and pleasant. The microwave and refrigerator were a major plus. When I booked the room it showed that the breakfast was NOT included, but the front desk personnel said that it was. The room was fine (fridge and microwave) but the wall are really thin esp to the outside. There's no atrium or anything leading to inside-all doors lead to outside parking lot which wouldnt be so bad except the walls and windows are very thin and they put me right near the stairwell. The hotel was not located where they said it was. It was a walk to the bus station if you wanted to anything later in the day. They had no inforamtion on anything. Room was clean. Everything was in working order. Housekeeping kept hounding us at 11am even though check out was at 12 noon. Decent free continental breakfast with coffee, oj, milk, cereal, pastries. Not bad for a one nighter if you are on a budget. No issues with noise or parking.

I stayed at the Howard Johnson Inn while on a photography assignment, and I needed a solid wi-fi connection in my room to upload my photos each night after the events. I had called to make sure the wi-fi was was good and was told that it was. Well, it wasn't. While the signal showed as strong, whatever router they use there kept dropping out, so an […] upload that should have taken a few minutes took over five hours. I was up till 5:30 am the first night loading photos, and had to be up at 8am to get to the event. I ended up loading the next few days' shots at the event media center. Not what I had planned at all. The guy at the desk eventually put his own router on the system, which helped a bit, but by that time it was way late. If you advertise wi-fi, it would help if it actually worked. And if you're a light sleeper (fortunately I'm not) keep in mind that the place is right next to a freeway, so get a room near the back. The room was pretty shabby, but clean. Bed was comfortable. Lots of cigarette butts on the grounds.

Clean, well maintained room with a kickass air conditioner. Breakfast was kind of low rent and the wouldn't let you take it to your room. Good price, I guess you get what you pay for.

Rooms were noisy due to freeway so close, dirty floors, dirty bathrooms. Breakfast was just breads and cold cereal. some juices and a small eating area. tight parking lot spaces, recommend backing in if in a larger vehicle, attendant in black mercedes was laughing when i couldnt pull out because of her car instead of coming out to move it! Had to toss and turn all night due to Freeway traffic and intermittent winding-whistling noises.

We really enjoyed our stay at Howard Johnson. The only problem was there weren`t enough chairs to sit outside. Other than that, we have no complaints.

Overall, I've no real complaints about this hotel. It was well signposted and therefore easy to find, the room was well appointed, breakfast was satisfying, and the staff were helpful when I needed them. If I had a complaint, it'd be that it's not very easy to get to without a car. This is definately more my problem than the hotels, since I didn't […] want to get a hire car, but without a lift from a friend, it'd have been very difficult to get to the hotel from the airport and back. There was a frequent enough bus service from just outside the hotel, however, so even that complaint doesn't really hold up to scrutiny. Basically, no complaints! 더 보기

It is a lower end hotel and we were looking for inexpensive with some perks. That is what we received. Nothing fancy, ok breakfast in the a.m. kind of noisy right next to the freeway but they all are in hotel circle.

Rooms are extremely small for two adults. You should not have to check for door clearence when exiting bathroom because of the door being right at the sink. Nor wait for door clearence to move around the room. This could be a fire hazard should a emergency occur. I was not at all pleased with your room.

I stayed at the Howard Johnson Seaworld Inn Hotel off of Rosencrans Street last time I visited San Diego. That hotel was amazingly clean, friendly and in a great location. So, I decided to stay at this Howard Johnson Inn, which is located down the street from the other hotel. I gave it try and was highly disappointed. The room was not clean. The hiar […] dryer had either blood or bbq sauce stuck all over the cord, the air conditioner was leaking water and the bed was poorly made with sheets that looked like they have been used for centuries. Enjoyed my stay at this location. The room rates were reasonable, the room itself was clean and comfortable, and a big point for me, the air conditioning worked well. Only real complaint was we were left short of soap and shampoo, but a quick trip to the cleaning cart and we were set. I dont mind an older hotel, but old doesn't excuse dirt. Just the walls around the doors and the walls in the bathroom look like something out of a gas station bathroom. My towels also had a very large hair in it. I dont know if this was when it was being folded by the staff or if it never got changed from the last guests. So I didnt press the issue.
