Upon arrival the hotel was clean and modern. My check-in experience was pleasant but I learned very quickly after settling into my room that the walls were PAPER THIN. I could hear voices, people walking down the hall, cars, voices, and an occasional thump outside of the window. I spent $28 + tax and tip on parking. When I called valet the next day […] to have my car ready, they never answered the phone. I had to go downstairs and wait for my car even though they gave me the number to call ahead of needing my car. Would I stay there again, yes. Why? Because it was reasonably priced, I liked the cleanliness and the decor, and now I'm fully prepared to bring my earplugs and my patience. 더 보기

Valet was very chaotic, we had to wait a long time for our vehicle just to go right down the street. The shower was very basic compared to the rest of the bathroom. The shower/tub needs a face lift.

It was great only thing frustrating was no self park. and late cleaning of room, I would be out for the day and get back around 4 and room not done yet.

The room is too tight, especially the bathroom. There are no robes, and the bath towels should be a bit longer. The substitute for drawers or bureau for keeping clothes is woefully inadequate and exposes clothing to dust.

It was noisy and staff was not helpful at all when I asked for a price reduction on the valle parking service. I wish someone had owned the issue furthermore disclose the fact thatvthere is no parking for guest. I am very dissatisfied.

Overall my stay was great. The front desk staff was very nice and the phone call to ensure everything was okay was a nice touch. The only negative was the bar. In the hotel book it stated that the bar stayed open till 2pm but when we arrived at 10:45pm we were informed it was last call and that the bar closed at 11pm. That was really disappointing. […] Also, the faucet in the tub was leaking water all night but we ignored it since we were inly staying overnight. The bed and bedding was nice and comfy. Derek at Guest Services was so pleasant, and gave me the perfect view; Joseph with Valet was such a gentleman; Susan with Housekeeping was an Angel; and the gentlemen in Valentino hospitality were of the upmost. Very nice. Pool area isn't ideal for sunning. Small area with limited lounge chairs. Nice atmosphere. Staff was very accommodating.

Upon booking room I was unaware parking was VALET ONLY at $30 a night. This is outrageous! A hotel rate should include parking at said facility for free. I will never again stay at this hotel nor recommend it to anyone.

I've stayed at nearly all of the surrounding 4 & 5 star Galleria area hotels and this one is by far the best - modern and friendly.

Bathroom was handicap accessible and the floor flooded from the shower. Also, the valet parking service took 15 minutes to get my car in the morning. Given the price I will not stay here again.

My room had not been replenished after the previous guest. When I brought it to their attention that my mini bar and snack tray was missing items, instead of restocking it they came and cleared everything out so I had no snacks or drinks in my room. Very disappointed in the customer service!

The location was perfect. The room was nice but the mandatory valet (no self park offered) was ridiculously priced at over $25/night. That valet charge can add up quickly...ouch!

Clean, great service, and ideal location -- especially if you are looking to stay in the immediate Galleria area (although access to interstate is extremely convenient as well). Will absolutely stay her in the future and would certainly recommend that others consider Hotel Derek when making arrangements to travel to Houston.

Great location and atmosphere. Excellent service from bellhop and front desk. Comfortable bed, awesome water pressure in the shower, very clean, and good coffee. Well worth the money and then some.

The hotel appeared nice on the website. However, the service was atrocious. We booked a room with two double beds. The bathroom had two towels. We always travel with face towels. The bath towel was hard. My baby a three year old refused to use it. We called down to get more towels(better) and after a second call and 45 minutes later we received the […] same quality towels. I love Hotel Derek! The bed was comfortable, the room stylish, the staff helpful. The only downside to this hotel is that there is no parking and you have to valet.

The hotel, in general is okay and modern on the surface, but feels like old 70s once you get to the room. Most importantly, I was disappointed to find out AFTER checkout that they charge $29 for parking and that is not readily disclosed beforehand. When we arrived, I asked the valet if I could park my own vehicle and she said sorry, that is not allowed. […] They have parking around the perimeter of the garage they use, but they won't let YOU park it there, they will park it and charge you. In my case I paid approx $60 for one night as I had two vehicles. When I questioned the receptionist of the charges, she said "Sorry, we have no other parking options at this time and there is nothing I can do for you!".
