엠파이어 호텔 (Empire Hotel) - 뉴욕

내 생각에 이 호텔은 Times Square에 가깝다기보다는 조용한 지역에 있다. 호수에 앉아 사람들을 구경하기 정말 좋은 Lincoln Center 바로 맞은 편이다. 방은 좋았다. 내가 미처 요청하지 못한 것은 안에 있는 옆방과 연결되는 방문이었다. (모든 방이 비흡연실인데도) 옆집 담배 냄새와 시끄러운 음악 소리가 그 문을 통해 더 명확하게 느껴졌다. 직원들은 그 문제를 다음 날 아침에 처리했고, 그 후로 다시 편안하고 조용해졌다. 계단을 두 번 오르면 나오는 옥상에는 정말 작은 수영장이 있었다.. 따뜻한 날에는 극장이 끝나면 집에까지 편하게 걸어올 수 있다. 지하철은 단 두 블록 건너 있다.

이 호텔의 위치는 최고이다. 하지만 방에 있는 화장실은 너무 작다. 작긴 하지만 그럼에도 정말 현대식이다. 이 호텔을 길 바로 건너편에 있는 Lincoln Center를 즐기고 싶어하는 모든 사람들에게 추천하고 싶다.

부유한 지역에 위치한 훌륭한 부티크 호텔입니다. Central Park와 Lincoln Center에 가깝습니다. 호텔은 아름답고, 정말 멋지게 설계되었습니다.

도착하자 수영장이 끝났다… 열려 있어야 했는데, 좋지 않다. 정말 어두운 안쪽 가족실을 얻었다. 방이 너무 어두워서 아무 것도 볼 수 없었다. 얼음은 유료였고, 몇몇 직원들은 예의가 없었다. New York에 세 번째 방문인데 서비스가 안 좋고 고객 서비스도 안 좋아서 다시 오지 않을 것이다.

Empire에서 숙박이 너무 좋았다. 방은 15층에 있었고, Lincoln Center가 보였다. 유일한 불만은 방이 너무 더웠는데, 에어컨이 잘 작동하지 않아서 창문을 열어두었더니 시끄러웠다. 우리가 거기 있을 때 수영장이 개장하지 않아 실망이었다. 그것을 제외하고는 다 좋았다.

방에 도착했을 때 타월이나 톱시트, 컴포터가 없었다. 하지만 하우스키퍼를 부르자, 얼른 올라와서 원래 내가 도착했을 때의 준비되어 있어야 했던 상태대로 만들어주었다.

위치는 좋은데 경영이 부실한 경우이다. 룸서비스는 전혀 오지 않았고, 모닝콜는 전혀 받지 않고, 어떤 직원은 고객을 돕는 것보다는 자기들끼리 얘기하는 것을 더 좋아했다.

호텔은 Lincoln Center 매우 가까이에 있어 편리합니다. 우리가 고른 이유입니다. 샤워기가 너무 높아서 닿지 않았습니다. 코트 걸이도 너무 높아서 코트를 걸 수 없었습니다. 여기는 5피트 8인치 이상은 되어야 좋습니다. 전 5피트 1인치입니다. 키가 작은 친구들에게는 추천하고 싶지 않습니다.

우리는 두 번째 결혼 기념식을 축하하기 위해, 애완동물 친화적인 호텔에 요크셔 테리어 두 마리를 데리고 갔습니다. 남편 Dan은 며칠 전에 컨시어지에게 전화를 걸어서 나에게 깜짝 선물로 줄 샴페인과 꽃을 방에 가져다 달라고 했는데, 나중에 안 사실이지만, 답신 전화가 한 통도 없었습니다. “아늑한”이라고 설명된 퀸 사이즈 방에 체크인 하고 짐을 정리하고, 저녁을 먹으러 갔습니다. 두 시간 후에 돌아와 “당신 개가 밤새 짖었습니다.”라고 쓰인 노트를 발견하고 깜짝 놀랐습니다. 호텔은 우리가 안에 못들어가게 문까지 잠궜습니다. 프런트 데스크에 내려가서 Justina라는 여자에게 말했습니다. 그녀는 개가 짖어서 다른 손님들로부터 […] 컴플레인을 받아서 (프라이버시 카드까지 걸어둔) 방으로 들어가 개를 그녀 스스로 다룰 수 있는지 확인해 보았다고 정말 불쾌한 투로 설명했습니다. 정말? 모르는 사람이 남의 개를 진정 시키려고 남의 방에 허가도 없이 들어간다고? 정말 믿을 수 없습니다. 그녀는 계속해서 내가 내 개를 관리해야 하며, 그래서 방문을 잠궜다고 말했습니다(내 작은 5파운드 요크셔를 관리한다고?). 그녀는 정말 건방지고 버릇이 없었습니다. 나는 내 개를 압니다. 잠깐 짖다가 포기하고 조용해집니다. 하지만 모르는 누군가가 방으로 침입해 들어오면 당연히 흥분해서 짖을 것입니다. 총지배인과 얘기하고 싶다고 했다니 월요일에나 들어온다고 했습니다. 다음 날 내려가서 다른 매니저에게 방을 코너에 있는 곳으로 바꾸면 불만을 제기했던 다른 고객들이 불편함을 덜 느낄 것 같다고 이야기했습니다. 그러자 코너에 있는 방으로 가고 싶으면 추가 비용을 지불해야 한다고 했습니다. 내가 여러 차례 그러면 내가 어떻게 해야 되느냐고 묻자 그는 여행 기간 내내 개와 같이 방에 있어야 한다고 말했습니다. 호텔을 나갔다 돌아올 때마다 문에 노트가 붙어 있었습니다. 이건 고문이었습니다. 심한 모욕감을 느꼈고, (이하 생략) 더 보기

위치도 좋고 시설도 좋습니다. 불행히도 별로 좋은 경험은 아니었습니다. 방이 1시간이 지나도록 준비가 되지 않아서 우리를 스위트룸으로 옮겨 주었습니다. 스위트룸은 너무 엉망이어서 뭔가 지독한 것이 터진 듯한 냄새가 났습니다. 고친 다음에는 잠을 자려고 하는데 앞쪽에서 너무 시끄러운 소리가 많이 났습니다. NYC에서는 항상 뭔가가 일어나고, PJ Clark's는 오전 5시까지 시끄럽습니다. 자고 싶으면 안쪽 방으로 하는 것이 좋을 것 같습니다.

Small room but it was laid out so well it didn't seem to matter to us. Staff was on top of it, but Empire's doormen ROCK! Fast movers yet VERY helpful with directions. One even reported a shower handle problem I had by calling maintenance on his cell phone since I was in rush and didn't want to wait in check-in line in the lobby. The Empire Hotel is extraordinarily pretentious; very, very loud; the rooms have no dresser or nightstand drawers for undergarments and socks; they have a tiny, far too shallow closet that wrinkles one's suits; and looks as though it has not been redesigned since the 1970's. In addition, the staff is condescending and rude.

Not a great stay at hotel. Everything is nickeled and dimed even the WiFi. Didn't have towels, and the worst part of stay was the missing shower door,(not bathroom door) must have been removed for maintaince?????? Next time I will stay at other hotel. Empire did have interesting design and style, just poorly maintained.

The worst hotel that we have been in new york. the matress was very poor as the service. the superior king was all ecept superior.

The reception is really cool and nice, but the rooms need a renovation. Nice staff in the reception. My daughter, 15 years, was really disappointed that she couldn´t go up on the roof top bar to take some photos. You were not allowed under 21 years... Bad service, and the doorman wasn´t that friendly.

I had a two night stay. The initial room was was very small and not well kept. The management changed my room for the second night, and did so politely. The location is great. The rooms can be very small and noisy. The staff is quite accomodating.

we had a great view of the Lincoln center as well as the park in front, I highly recommend that view!

This was my first time staying at the Empire Hotel, and I would DEFINITELY come stay again. The staff and management were very welcoming and accommodating. The location is very central and convenient without being in the noisy hustle and bustle of the Time Square hotels. Positives: good location, reasonably priced, well decorated, very comfortable beds, clean rooms and good service. Negatives: Queen standard room is tiny and very hot without AC on full blast.

No problems what so ever.

The hotel is amazing, the rooms are small but that's NYC standards. The staff is very helpful, and the location is unbeatable. Highly recommended.

Smaller intimate hotel in great location right across from Lincoln Center. Renovated nicely since I stayed there a few years ago. Rooms are tiny (But aren't all in NYC?), but clean and comfortable. The desk clerk during check-in was rude. Since this was our first introduction to the hotel, our stay started on a negative note. Our room did not have a bathtub - not sure if this is true for all rooms or not. There were issues with the bathroom plumbing (toilet and shower drain backed-up). As you can see although I believe this Hotel was well located for our needs and clean in poresentation. The Bar staff were very accomodating and the housekeeping staff were lovely. However our stay was spoilt by the heavy handed rudness of the reception staff. Make sure if you ever book at this holtel that they are not filming some trashy gossip show […] in the bar/lounge are because if you do you will be banned from the are till they leave. You will be moved on by rude security guards and the services you expected when booking were withdrawn. As an alternative to the free wifi in the now off limits area your are directed to use the Starbucks next door or "in your room" at and extra cost. In addition if you wanted to relax in the lounge area with a drink at the end of a day you again could not and were told to order room service again at an extra cost. While this hotel was conveniently located to Lincoln Center, it was staffed by incompetent, unprofessional personnel who could not offer satisfaction (except to discount our room for only one night) for the discomfort we had by an overheated room. A manager should have been called and offered a better solution. In addition, Gossip Girls was filming […] and their crew had more attention and respect than my family, the paying customers. I spent a significant amount of money for my stay at Empire (stayed 3/25 - 3/29 - two rooms) and again, the overheating of the room did not match the cost of the stay. Been here several times now. Perfect location if you are going to the Met. Best bars, both rooftop and lobby. Too bad they were filming a TV show in the lobby the day we were there. Only complaint was the communication between the hotel and the valet service. It took over an hour to get our car.

The hotel was well located for our activities at the art gallery. The staff were helpful, polite and friendly. The rooms were small but sufficient and comfortable for our short stay. The shower was difficult to operate without getting soaked before you were ready to bathe. Shower training might have been needed! We were initially pleased with the lovely top-floor room with a view in the hotel, but that came to an end when the roof-top club got cranking after midnight and until as late as 4 AM once. The loud music and dancing above made sleeping impossible. And the clean-up crews were sliding tables and chairs around by 5:30 am. Housekeeping was inconsistent […] too. They often didn't have bath mats or washcloths, even if we asked housekeeping for them. To avoid paying the hotel's high in-room wifi connection charges, we used the free service in the lobby except for the day a movie / TV show was being filmed there and we were restricted from the area. The room was pretty small but adequate. The service was friendly. I got nothing bad to say about this allthough i wasn't blown away either

This was my first time visiting with my children ages 20,12,11. The hotel was very nice and located close to subway line. Great front desk help and nice bar downstairs. I had called the hotel a day earlier warning that I would arrive late in the AM the next day. They said that they would try to let me check in early. Upon arrival at 11:30, I was told that I could not check in until 3 PM. That was a downer since I had jet lag and needed to clean up. Not a great place, but decent for this rate in New York. Room was small, hotel getting old. top level terrace closed in winter. Meanwhile it is ideally placed for tourism in the city.

I stayed here the weekend of the NYC Half Marathon because it was within blocks of the start of the race. This hotel has a great location just across from Lincoln Center. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very small. The only problem was that we had trouble getting hot water in the sink and it took a while for the hot water to come to the shower. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay.

We like this hotel when we come for events at Lincoln Center since it is right across the street. Main dislike about the hotel is how high everything is! We Hardly slept the entire night since there was a very loud gathering outside our door. We called security twice. The first time at 1:30 a.m. the second time at 4:00 a.m. The manager was supposed to call me. I am still waiting for the phone call. Even though the location is so convenient to Lincoln Center, I will never stay here again.

We booked to stay at empire for their rooftop bar but my husband was denied access due to the fact he wasnt wearing black shoes but because he was wearing grey dressy shoes. We tried to speak to someone at the front of the hotel but said they were separate from the rooftop bar. Now how is that if the rooftop bar is a part of your hotel facility? First time I stayed in a NYC hotel, so was surprised by how small the room was for the high price. Now understand that is typical in NYC. We had three people in the room and only 2 towels and wash cloths. Requested additional towels/cloth multiple times but never got them. The first morning there was only cold water. Have stayed in other luxury hotels in different cities and the staff could not do enough for their guests, with little perks... expect to pay for everything here and WiFi prices are per device not room. If you go to the Mezzanine you can pick up the WiFi from Starbucks next store. I saw a doorman several times who never opened the heavy front door for a guest. This is not a hotel with perks and guest consideration. Only thing they consider is how much more $$ they can't get from the guests. Was annoyed when I was told that my room would not be ready for 2 hours when we got there 2 hours after we were originally told we could check in, so I went to talk to someone else & they "suddenly" had a room available! Also on Wednesdays from 6-7 pm there are free drinks on the rooftop deck......no one told us that when we checked in. […] We asked when we saw a line outside & by then there was no way we were getting up there. About 300 yards from the front door to the Metropolitan Opera House. Nicely refurbished 2-3 years ago, but a;ready showing some wear. My room was small, comfortable, and fine for my purposes. The location was great accessible to downtown NYC. Staff were friendly. Our Deluxe accommodations was comfortable. The room was like a compact car. We had ample space with the view of windows and exterior wall. The top floor was not accessible to young children. The very small bathroom was not user friendly for young children.
