모리슨 클락 호텔 (Morrison Clark Hotel) - 워싱턴

고풍스러운 호텔이였습니다. 편안하고 안락한 분위기였습니다. 워싱턴 DC 도심에 저렴한 가격에 편리하게 이용해서 참 좋았습니다. (행사장이었던 Metro Center까지 도보로 10분 정도 걸린 것 같으네요.) -------------------------------------------------------------------- 메트로 센터에 있는 하얏트 호텔에서 열리는 3일짜리 컨퍼런스에 참가하는 출장이었습니다. 하얏트 호텔은 숙박비가 200불을 넘어가서 처음부터 고려하지 않았고, 근처의 좀 저렴한 호텔과 아예 외곽의 민박 중에서 고민하던 중, 민박 비용보다 크게 비싸지 않아서 근처의 호텔, 그중에서 위치가 […] 제일 좋았던 모리슨 클락을 선택했습니다. 우선 분위기는, 호텔자체가 아담하고, 오래되었고, 고풍스럽고, 종업원들도 남북전쟁 시대 점잖은 흑인 집사 같은 분위기로, 마치 미국 유적지에서 머무는 느낌이었습니다. 가격을 생각 안하더라도 뭔가 재밌는 경험을 한다는 느낌이랄까? 가격은 텍스포함 1박에 100불 정도였는데, 상당히 저렴한 가격이었다고 생각해요. 덕분에 출장비를 조금 남겨올 수 있었지요. (저희 회사는 1박에 120불 남짓 주거든요.) 무선인터넷 무료인게 아주 좋았어요. 한국에서 쓰던 인터넷폰을 가져갔는데, 로밍한 핸드폰으로 전화오면 번호만 확인하고 인터넷폰으로 국내통화료로 전화 걸 수 있어서 아주 잘 이용 했어요. 인터넷이 좀 느렸지만, 전화쓰는데는 전혀 문제 없더군요. 그리고, 구두 닦아주는 서비스도 좋았어요. 구두를 밤에 내 놓으면 아침에 닦아서 문앞에 놓아 주더군요. 팁을 좀 줘야 하니 완전 무료를 아니지만, 무료 서비스라 기분이 좋더군요. 단점은, 조명이 어둡고, 방이 작습니다. (욕실은 커요) 그리고 텔레비젼도 좀 작고.. 텔레비젼에 집착하시는 분은 불편할 것 같군요. 청결하고, 아름답고, 서비스 수준은 스탠다드 호텔급으로 보시면 될 것 같아요. 저는 워싱턴 디씨로 출장가는 동료들에게 추천할 생각입니다. 이상~~ 더 보기

beautiful historic hotel, blocks from the White House and metro station. Only thing iI would do different is get a room facing the courtyard instead of the noisy street.

More than I expected

Just need more light in the bathrooms!!

Not recommended for anyone with any physical impairment. Difficult stairway at the entry and no one to help with bags.

Hotel exceeded expectations. I will plan to stay here for future business trips, and even personal stays.

This is a pretty hotel, a nice area and a good rate. It is easy to find and i was pleased i chose this over other more corporate hotels. The room was very cosy and although a little erderly in its twee way - i gotta say i liked it. On arrival i had to swap rooms as the one i was originally given had a terrace but the window door to get on it was broken. […] When i went to the front desk to ask about it they seemed to think having a terrace was a bonus, even if it was inaccessible. Still - i asked to change and the next room was a lot better and lighter! But i did have to insist to change. Anyway, it was all dealt with courteously and the stay was peaceful and easy. When I arrived for check-in, my room at the Morrison-Clark was unavailable, so they put me up in a sister property across the street. A staff member carried my bags, got me all checked in and was wonderful. The room (also in a historic property) was huge. There was a small fridge and mini-bar sink in the room which was a surprising and delightful upgrade. […] All-in-all it was a tremendous experience. I will use the Morrison-Clark again! 더 보기

Our daughter and son in law both active duty soldiers stayed during the Easter holiday. It was a delayed honeymoon gift from us. I was so impressed with all aspects and comforted by the graciousness of the staff. They said they slept better than they had in months due to the quiet and comfort of their room. Thank you!

We had read a review that there was trouble parking larger vehicles. We have a seven seater SUV, an had ABSOLUTELY no such problem. They accommodated our vehicle in a separate locked lot. We were very pleased with this. The staff was pleasant, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the area. We had a room on the courtyard, and it was private, stunning, […] and well maintained. Made the reservation late hours of the evening, after midnight. Was falling asleep on the road, so I was glad to have a reasonable rate for a night. I booked it thru Hotel.com. 10 mins after I reserved the room and paid for it on the phone with a Hotel.com agent, I was at the hotel. A young man working behind the desk was called by the agent, but when […] I showed up, he seemed confused. He told me he hadn't received "the fax" yet. He was going to keep me waiting in the front, but I snapped at him for this logistical inconvenience, even after I gave him my confirmation number. I was given the keys to a room on the 1st floor, which was up the stairs, but outside. The room was a suite type room with a couch and some other amenities. The room was dark, the carpets were stained, and everything looked old. The bathroom was clean, and so were the sheets. The bed was comfortable. I got some sleep and that's all I needed, but it certainly wasn't pretty. 더 보기

Nothing special about this hotel.. room had a smell to it but it is an old building.. only 1 elevator but never had to wait long for it.. make sure u have good walking shoes, you will be doing alot of walking.. other than that the stay was good and staff was nice!!

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly, the room nicely appointed and clean, and the restaurant served good food.

It was a shame we only stayed one night. But the hotel was just as advertised. Pretty, comfortable, and in an excellent location. The bed was amazing, and it was nice not to be in one of the giant chain hotels.

Close to all must-see sights. Clean and posh.

The place was beautiful inside. Located in a high-rise residential area, it is a semi-long walk to the usual sights but worth it for the great price. Our room was a mini-suite with a sitting room and TV and a bedroom (with no TV). Not too far from K Street where there a few nice restaurants and bars.

I enjoyed my stay at the Morrison Clark very much. The front desk was attentive to our needs. Taxis were always rather easy to find on the nearby Massachusetts ave intersections. The maid service was always pleasant and prompt and included turn down service and a chocolate! The room was small but had a feeling like home with its decor, including bay […] windows with a seating area and a mini fridge. The restaurant in the lobby area was well designed. We did not stay for a meal but enjoyed the half price happy hour including a free first drink with yelp checkin. We were sad to leave at the end of our three days. I was very pleased with my overnight stay at this small intimate hotel tucked away in downtown DC, centrally located to the sights and walking distance to all my meetings. I will be happy to stay in this hotel again and be pleased to recommend it to friends.

A very excellent place to stay. I was only there for a night but the impression was outstanding and the wife and I will be staying there again for our next visit to DC.

The hotel itself is a beautiful historic building. My room was decorated nicely. It was small, but comfortable. The layout of the furniture was strange though, in that the TV was in a wardrobe, and a bedside table was placed such that you couldn't open the wardrobe door wide enough to watch the TV. So I had so do some furniture rearranging to watch […] the news in the morning. I saw so many rave reviews about the service that I was expecting to be wow-ed. Unfortunately, I was not. Our reception was tepid, at best, at the front desk at both check-in and check-out. The bellman was consistently friendly and was the bright spot in the area of customer service. This is supposed to be a non-smoking hotel, so I was surprised on my second night there to smell a very strong cigarette smoke odor in my room. I was on the 4th (top) floor of the building. Around the same time I smelled smoke, I heard footsteps above me (presumably on the roof). The smell of smoke was so strong in the bathroom that I had to keep the door closed and the fan on in order to go to sleep. Because of the steps I heard on the roof, I'm guessing the staff was on the roof smoking, and the smoke was entering through the ventilation system in the bathroom. Very disappointing. I detest cigarette smoke, and it made my second night there very uncomfortable. I did call to report the problem to the front desk, but by that time I had a headache from the smoke and got very little sleep that night because the smell and the headache kept me awake. If I stay again, I will definitely request NOT to be on the 4th floor. 더 보기

This is an historic property that has been continuously renovated and upgraded. The restaurant is wonderful, also! Location for walking in DC is fabulous...near the Mall, 7th, the Convention Center, Metro Center...great!

My husband and I recently choose the Morrison Clark to spend a relaxing weekend away in DC. The location was perfect for walking to Chinatown and the Mall, and perfect for using the Metro. However, my husband is 6 foot and his feet were hanging off the end of the bed. We booked the Victorian Room in hopes to sit in the room and catch up on some reading […] and maybe watch a movie. This was not condusive since the sitting area was two dinnet chairs. My husband was irritated that he couldn't sit on the bed and watch TV. The TV was housed in a position that could only be viewed if you were sitting directly in front of it which faced the opposing wall. I would recommend the hotel for the amazing food and location. If you were not planning on relaxing in the room / hotel and were going to be out and about in DC it is perfect. 더 보기

The Morrison-Clark was a great hotel. It was very clean, the staff was very nice and the room was very fun to stay in. We were in a Victorian room and it had a door that led to a private full porch with a table that you could sit outside. On Saturday night, we ate at their restaurant. We were the only ones there, so we were a little nervous. The food, […] however, was AMAZING. I would highly recommend you eat there, even if it is room service. We had breakfast in our room and that was excellent, too. If there were any negatives, it was that it may need a little refreshing in paint and the curtains were sun faded. That doesn't bother me, because the room was obviously clean. It was a great place for our second honeymoon. :D 더 보기

Good location. Good value.

This IS a 150yr old mansion so we can't compare it to a 5yr old motel. The room was great, cozy with nice HVAC for cold nights. Bathroom had an standard mid-level hotel look but with heated floor, nice. The walls and doors were thick enough to keep noise down. I do agree that an HD screen is a waste without HD programming but that's a first world complaint. […] Doorman and staff were friendly. Full service restaurant downstairs is a good idea with eateries about 5 blocks down. We walked to Chinatown, about ten minutes and well worth it. Very cozy, felt more at home here with the decor beyond that of standard hotel fair. I've already recommended this place as a B&B flavor with easy access to the mall and museum crowd. This place is sweet, and I'm pretty sure most of DC burned down at some point in the past 150 years which adds interest for me. 더 보기

地下鉄Green line沿線に用件があり1人で宿泊。Mt Vernon Sq/7th St.駅まで徒歩10分弱で便利。帰りは隣のチャイナタウン駅で降りて食事（徒歩で帰る）。ナショナルギャラリーも徒歩可。歴史ある建物です。私の部屋は窓が廊下に面していてカーテン閉めたままで少し圧迫感あり。室内の備品など少々安っぽい。全体的には落ち着けた。

This small boutique lodging has the charm of old Washington. I recently read The Raven and felt I had stepped into an era of elegance and statesmanship. The parlor and dining areas are charming. I loved this location and will certainly plan to return.

A most wonderful time was spent at this hotel. The staff was non Pariel. We were checked into the first room where there was a slight leak in the bathroom. We were given another room without question and a most wonderful night was enjoyed there. I will most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone...

A charming, quaint hotel. Loved the historic architecture and elegant decor. It was much nicer than staying in the typical chain hotel. Staff was friendly and attentive. The room we were in was smaller than the average hotel room but I wouldn't say it was too small or too cramped. This hotel is a historic building. Was formerly two townhouses owned by Mr. Morrison and Mr. Clark in 1847. It was a beautiful hotel and felt more like coming home than entering a traditional modern hotel. Very quaint. The service was great and the employees were very accommodating. The Morrison-Clark is a lovely boutique hotel converted from two mansions. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, although a bit small (which is typical for a boutique), but could use a little more light. We enjoyed our stay, and would return the next time we are in Washington.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great rooms. Only problem is that my internet connection was a bit slow, which is a bit of a problem since I am a business traveller. Nevertheless, I would certainly stay there again as I enjoyed being in a hotel with personality and warmth, rather than a standard chain hotel that is the same in every city.

The building is old,but charming and historic and generally in good repair, although the deadbolt on my door was tricky to open from the outside and took several tries. I had a room with a view of the courtyard, and it was very pretty and quiet. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

If you are a walker, there is no better small hotel to be in. If you aren't a walker it's in any reason taxi fare to DC venues or you can take a bus. Standard hotel rooms are small. The lighting is dim, OK for a romantic get away, but difficult if you like light. I'm sure the staff would remedy that, should you ask. The staff is excellent, accomadatig, […] attentive and charming, and must have been chosen to fit the hotel image. Excellent restaurant. Excellent bar. Professional and charming and certainly where I'll stay in on my next visit. Nice quiet areas to bring associates, etc. 더 보기
