뉴요커 호텔 (The New Yorker Hotel) - 뉴욕

여행다니면서 5가지 호텔에서 숙박을 해봤지만 그 중 시설은 거의 최하였으며 숙박하고 나와서도 기분이 그닥 좋지 못한 호텔. 우선 체크인을 했을 시 거의 최하층인 20층으로 받았지만 동행인과 같은 층을 주려는 의도는 보였으나 방과 방사이가 미로와 같아 너무 멀었음. 여기서 간단히 정리해서 쓰자면 [장점] : 위치가 좋음. 바로 앞 지하철도 있고 15~20분걸어가면 타임스퀘어나 한인타운이 나와 접근도는 높다. 그리고 무분별한 외부사람 호텔진입을 막기 위해 엘리베이터 앞에서 방키를 확인한 사람만 입장해주는 보안.주변에 먹거리 식당이 꽤 많음. 무료 와이파이(유료도 있지만 결제가 잘 이루어지지 않으며 무료는 굉장히 느림. 공유사이트 […] 다운로드 속도 40키로바이트) [단점] : 방이 상당히 비좁음. 혼자쓰면 적당하지만 둘이쓰는 것을 봤는데 잘못하다 폐쇄공포증 생길지도 모를만한 비좁은 방. 화장실 변기는 방크기를 최소하 시키기위해서인지 구식 변기를 쓰고 있음. 고객을 많이 받으려고 층 내부가 미로같이 객실로 꽉차 있음. 체크아웃하는데 도어맨이 택시를 잡아주는데 무허가 택시한테 팁받고 잡아줘서 난폭운전으로 인해 귀국길에 심히 불편. 더 보기

Hotels.com을 통해 괜찮다는 후기를 보고 4/14~18일 숙박을 하게 되었으나 아래와 같은 문제점으로 출장동료로부터 컴플레인받음. 1. 객실내 벼개 뒤집어 재사용 2. 외국사람에겐 그런지 몰라도 가장 구석방제공 2268호 - 엘리베이터 나와 한참 걸어가야 함. 3. 객실 Renovation 했다는데 묵었던 22층, 26층 2개방 그런 흔적 전혀 없음. 4. 객실룸 5~6평정도로 홍콩/일본 비즈니스호텔보다 더작아 2명/1객실 예약했다면 작은 퀸침대에서 껴안고 자야함. 5. 토요일 뮤지컬 예약위해 1층 예약부스에 2~4시 타임있는지 문의했으나 7시꺼만 있다는 답변들음. but 2시타임 뮤지컬 있어 동료들에게 바보됨. 같이 […] 출장간 동료로부터 절대 추천하지 말아야 될 호텔이라는 complain받아 매우 후회하고 있음. 더 보기

New Yorker 호텔은 정말 좋은 위치에 있습니다. 방은 깨끗하고, New York 호텔에 비해 적절한 크기입니다.

방은 정말 작고, 이불은 좋다. 침대는 너무 딱딱하다. 샤워기에서 거의 물이 안나오지만 압력이 너무 높다. 미니바가 없다.

New Yorker 호텔은 정말 좋습니다. 유일한 문제는 방이 작습니다. 약간만 더 컸으면 좋겠습니다. 전반적으로 훌륭합니다.

Manhattan에 있기 때문에 관광명소나 보고 싶은 곳에 쉽게 갈 수 있습니다. 방은 정말 작지만 깨끗합니다. 도심 Manhattan에 있기 때문에 밤새 거리에서 차 경적소리, 사이렌 소리, 계속 움직이는 사람소리가 들렸습니다. 우리는 21층에 있어서 거리 반대쪽에 있었는데도 그랬습니다! 직원과 관련해서는 옆집에 있는 Tic Tock Dinner(음식이 맛있지만 가격에 비해서는 별로였습니다.)에서 미소와 인사를 더 많이 받았습니다.

위치는 좋습니다. 버스를 이용했고, 위치는 우리의 모든 이벤트나 여행에 적합했습니다. 매력 있고, 깨끗하고 방. 리노베이션된, 평면 스크린… 여기서 지내서 정말 좋았습니다. New York은 잘 모릅니다. 원래는 Pennsylvania로 예약했었는데 친구들이 경험담을 얘기하면서 "안돼!!"라고 했습니다. Pennsylvani는 더 싸긴 했지만 모험하고 싶지는 않았습니다. New York은 더 비싸지만 그만한 값어치를 합니다.

New Yorker 에서 환상적으로 즐거운 시간을 보냈습니다. 깨끗하고 위치 좋고, 기억에 남을 만한 곳입니다. 다만 한 가지 단점이 있습니다. 자동차를 받는데 30분이나 기다려야 했습니다. 왜 그렇게 오래 걸렸을까요? 주자장 시설이 좀 빈약했습니다.

공용 부분과 방은 멋지게 리노베이션됐습니다. 하지만 제가 혼자 지낼 거라고 하자 아마도 저에게 가장 작은 방 중 하나를 준 것 같습니다. 여행 가방 하나라도 열려고 하면 모든 걸 막아버립니다.

호텔 직원들은 정말 친절했습니다. 저는 도움을 요청할 때마다 그들의 반응에 감동받았습니다. 호텔은 "물이 올랐습니다.", 최소한 제가 있던 곳은 그랬습니다. 리노베이션이 필요하긴 하지만 모든 게 깨끗하고 관리가 잘 되었습니다.

방은 정말 작지만 NYC에서 '구할 수 있는" 호텔은 다 그렇습니다. 20층에 도전해 봤습니다. 고속 엘리베이터가 있어 제일 편한 층이 되었습니다. 우리들이 묵는 코너 방은 2개의 창이 있습니다. 매우 밝고, 통풍이 잘되고, 조용합니다. 아래 층의 Tick Tock Café는 편리하지만 질에 비해 너무 비쌉니다. 방에 냉장고는 없습니다. 룸서비스도 없습니다. 지하철 ACE 노선이 거리 바로 맞은 편에 있습니다. 직원들은 과도하게 일이 많았지만 그럼에도 정말 친절했습니다. 더 싸고 위치가 좋은 곳을 발견하지 못한다면 다음에도 여기 오겠습니다.

My review is for the Towers rooms. These rooms are small suites and mine had windows looking toward the Empire State Building, it was clean and comfortable, with a small fridge, coffee/tea maker, two lcd tv's and a compact bathroom. These […] rooms come with free wifi and continental b/fast in the 39th floor lounge, on weekends you will get a voucher for b/fast at the Tick-Tock diner which is part of the hotel and the b/fasts are substantial. No safes in the rooms (an omission that the hotel should rectify particularly in the Towers rooms) but safety deposit boxes are available at reception and access is quick and easy.The staff were very helpfull and free wifi and luggage storage was provided as I waited in the lobby for my room. This is a large and very busy hotel with people constantly checking in and out. I would certainly use this hotel again when I return to New York. The elevators are a little slow and old but you must remember this is not a modern hotel. The lobby area is quite grand.There is a gym and a Business centre located downststairs from the lobby but I did not use either. 더 보기

We had a great time. My first trip to new York .the hotel was less than a block from penn station so we didn't need a cab and a lot of our sightseeing destinations were in walking distance. I would stay at the new Yorker again.

The hotel is very clean, beds super comfortable.The staff very friendly ,professional and helpful. The food at the diner was excellent as well as the staff.The hotel is conveniently located to all sights of interest.We'll certainly return. Highly recommend it.

The only thing good is its access to the Garden.

The hotel was at a great price, with a small but nice room, friendly staff, very convenient location, subway stop on the corner, several major sites within easy walking distance (High Line, Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Times Square, etc.) Lots of good pubs, bars and restaurants nearby too. We stayed for 3 nights in April 2012. Don't booked the Metro Queen room. We opened the door and turned back around. Upgraded on the 2 Double which provided more room. The furniture is somewhat cheap and the decor is dated. Although we did have a view on the Empire St Bldg. The location and price were the selling points. Not a choice for luxury.

When we first walked in the lobby it seemed very old and people were sitting on the floor lobby there should be more chairs, but after the place became quaint and the Tic Toc Restaurant had great food and service . Our room however was very small and no view and no extra blanket for the bed and the tv had no info channel ,very frustrating you have to […] keep turning channels.we found everyone very helpful in the hotel and the police presence outside made us feel very safe, will be back to new York again but probably a newer hotel. I was surprised to find out from someone else. In the hotel that the father of radio and Alternating current and many amazing inventions lived his last 10 years in the New Yorker hotel unbelievable one of his best friends was Einstein there should be a story of Tesla in the main lobby they have a car named after him oh well over it was a nice stay. 더 보기

Just about everything with this hotel is average. There was nothing special or great about the hotel, the rooms or the service we recieved. However, this is New York, and who wants to spend all day in the Hotel when your in this city? The location for sight seeing and travelling was perfect and for that reason the New Yorker was the right choice for […] us. I have no doubt that there are far better hotels but they also come with a much larger price tag. As a young couple on a tight budget we wanted a comfy, pleasant place to sleep that wouldnt cost the earth, and if your in the same situation then I would recommend this hotel. 더 보기

The bathroom is too small; without a surface or area where to place essential toiletries. The wash basin is so tiny, I hit my head with the narrow glass shelf above it while I attempted to wash my face. I had to use the covered toilet as table and stool for my clothes. The bed was quite comfortable and well appointed.

My family and I booked this hotel for a 5 night stay in April. The location here is absolutely perfect. Surrounded by delis, Penn station metro stop literally across the road and a very short walk to Macys and 5th ave. The room itself was quite small, but hey, New York right? The room and bathroom looked as if it had seem better days, but nothing a […] fresh lick or paint won't fix. Having said that, it was kept very clean and that's really all I ask for. Service at the hotel was generally ok, but I found the concerige that was on that day disinterested and not very helpful. No hot water on first night of stay, courtesy of a Con Ed error--they cut off the gas supply to the hotel, which disabled the boilers. Not the hotel's fault, but their communication was poor--a simple notice near the elevators would have saved guests time and trouble. Rather noisy at times; thin walls. But for NYC hotel prices its a pretty good value. Blue line subway station just around the corner. 34th street shopping is also around the corner and its a 10 - 15 minute walk to the theater district. Rooms are small as are 90% of NYC hotel rooms. Hotels needs to be renovated. Plus there was no hot water due to a gas line problem which we were never notified of. Rooms and bathrooms are old.

Sometime on the day before our last night, a pipe broke, flooding the hallway; we returned to find an area inside the door sopping wet, a towel laid out. Can't blame the hotel for that...and it wouldn't have caused an inconvenience...but repairs began, I kid you not, at 11:30 pm, with the cordoning of the entire hallway and loud heavy hammering on the […] outside wall. We called to room service and were told that this repair was on-going through the night; there was nothing we could do; but perhaps we'd like a complimentary breakfast? We had to scream to get an alternative room (we were told there were none, then got one), shifted at 1 am, and made it through the rest of the evening. But they seriously thought we should have endured *hammering with tools on the walls of our room at night!!!!* It was as if we ended up being an inconvenience to the hotel. 더 보기

It was a nice hotel with an historical atmosphere and a very convenient location. A little warn around the edges with tiny rooms but pleasant enough and a good breakfast at the Tick Tock Diner

The service at the New Yorker was perfectly affable, location was convenient and the price was ok for NY .... But the room was the size of a dorm room closet and was about as clean. Checked out of here and for less money stayed at the Cassa Hotel which was fantastic! Stay away from this place at all costs

A nice hotel, especially for the price. Walked everywhere from here and loved it, you could use the tube but if you're for enough them walk - you see so much more. Got a nice twin aspect room looking over the Hudson and some side streets. Small room but I'd imagine that's standard for this city. Bathroom ok although the shower couldn't make it's mind […] up if it wanted to be hot or cold! Hotel at first looks a bit run down however this shouldn't have any pact on your stay. Just remember that of you want perfection in your hotel, you need to go up town and pay more than twice as much. I took my three boys to new yourk and we had a blast. the hotel was very nice but showers need updating and the elevators are very noisy

Great location to subway, walking distance to many attractions. Very easy getting to/from the Lincoln Tunnel.

Our stay here was pleasant. The rooms are renovated but parts are still quite dated and old. Hot water had issues running hot and cold at times randomly. Staff were friendly enough and the location was very convenient. Concierge assisted us in getting sold out tickets (at a cost). I had 2 engagements - one in the 20's and the evening engagements in the 50's. Hotel was convenient to both, great location, public transportation. Have stayed previously, will stay in the future for the right deal.

PERFECTLY located for travel to/from JFK as well as DC and Baltimore (Bolt Bus). Was able to check in super early from a red-eye flight (9:00AM) and found the room to be cute and clean. The section I was in (31st floor) showed it's age a bit, but nothing to complain about as I thought it added to the hotel's historic charm. Good food conveniently located […] (try Lugo's Cafe), adjacent to Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, as well as Duane Reade for last-minute toiletries or snacks.
