What a great place to stay. I just love going and go as often as I can.

A great part of the attraction of the hotel is that it is old, and is situated in a very historic part of the US. The overall ambience is excellent and the quality of the food high. The age also counts against it in that the bathroom was very cold in the morning, and while their request to save water by reusing towels as much as possible was negated […] by the fact that you had to run the hot water tap for up to six or seven minutes before it was warm enough to wash. Another disappointment was that in spite of the fact that we stayed there for 13 nights and spent money in the restaurant, when we had to stay one extra night, they gave us a very small discount from the regular rate. We've dined at the Inn many times and my husband has stayed at the Inn before. This time, my husband and I adn our son and daughter-in-law stayed in 2 rooms for 2 nights.. It was delightful. I stayed in the hotel over the last weekend and there was no heat at all in my room one night. The hotel's solution was to give me an extra blanket. The next day they promised to fix the heat and while it was a little better it was still roughly 50 degrees in the room that night. I deliberately picked this hotel for it's history, charm and it's location in Concord which is a beautiful little town steeped in history. And close to Boston and other nice little towns. I was also recuperating from surgery and had a friend accompanying me. I was very pleased with my stay at the Colonial Inn in Concord. The staff were very freindly and accommodating. Rates were very reasonable for a deluxe room and it included a breakfast voucher ($20 value) at the restaurant. Restaurant was fantastic and got to know the staff there too. Very friendly. It was also nice to have "The Forge" club in the Inn […] where you could stop in atnight for a glass of wine and enjoy Live Music! It's about the only night life in the entire town so it was convenient to have it right there. The only complaint I would have is that parking is limited and people come from all over just to eat or drink at the inn. I was always able to find a space though. The hotel is run down and in need of updating and decorating. Wallpaper, paint, furniture, etc. is old and worn. Our room was very small and the bathroom so small we literally could not be in there at the same time. There was a noisy air conditioner on the wall. In the heart of downtown Concord, you could not be any closer to the amenities and historic sites. The restaurant was great too. Be "warned:" this is a historic hotel so is slightly dated and doesn't have great TV. Adjust your expectations accordingly and you'll be very pleased. I loved the historical aspect of this inn and my room was in the original section so it was very "quaint." The young lady at the front desk was very helpful. Sadly, unless one wanted to eat at the inn, everything in Concord shuts down at 5:30 so there is nothing to do in the evening. We decided to reserve at the Colonial based mainly on the positive reviews - and it was a great decision. We were not as close to Boston as we would have liked but then we discovered the commuter train that solved the problem of taking the car into the city. We arrived late at night,but no problems. Our room was ready and welcoming. The dining room stayed open late to feed us a much appreciated dinner. In the morning after a complimentary full breakfast and some useful directions, we were on our way.

We're spoiled by modern hotels. Couldn't they maintain historic aspect but update since 1978? It IS charming and great historic location and good price.

This is a very nice small hotel in Concorde, perfect for trips to Boston. The atmospere in the hotel and the history there is just great. And it's haunted!! Check YouTube for Colonial Inn!

Should advertise on the Ghost Channels. I found out Ghost Hunters was there TAPS. I was all excited, but didn't feel or see any ghosts. But I did visit the historic sites. I love history.

This was one of the worst room I have ever had. The bed sagged so bad we kept rolling to the center. It had a window AC which we had to keep adjusting all night to try to get it comfortable. The carpet looked a hundred years old. The room was tiny and so was the TV set. I would not stay here again, even if it were free.

I decided to stay in Concord on a business trip to save money that would have been squandered on expensive Boston hotels. I was very pleased with my stay - friendly and helpful staff, clean room, free parking, and within 10 minutes of everything you would want to visit in Concord.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colonial Inn. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous. As the Inn is almost 300 years old, you don't expect all of the most modern amenities, but you do expect lots of charm, and wow did the Colonial Inn deliver that! Dinner was very nice, breakfasts were fine (very large), but not amazing - their "Huckleberry […] Lemonade" was worth the trip ;-)... you definitely need to try that when you visit!! Even though Concord is not exactly "close" to the city of Boston, it's not that far away, and it was so quaint, and manicured, and glorious... it was definitely worth the drive. We used mainly all surface streets, and really got a great view of the towns and cities, rather than just the freeways. That was a great choice, so that you can really get a feel for the city! food was good, wait staff, including bar tender were excellent, the hotel was very run down and smelled (I was on the bottom floor in back) Breakfast coupon wasn't useful until 7:30, too late for my meetings so wasn't able to use even though I paid.

People who work at the hotel are very LAZY. It's NOISY The sheets looked clean but smelled like a mixture of mildew and urine. hotel needs to tell people that it smells very bad!!

From keeping the kitchen open late for us the night we arrived to accommodating us for an additional night and everything in between, the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful.

I've lived in Concord MA before so was excited about staying at the Inn while on a quick trip with my sister through the state. Front desk clerk knew nothing of any of the restaurants around the inn. I said as a courtesy to guests she should know names and closing times for all within walking distance. Also bathroom needs ventilation - mold is growing […] on the ceiling near the shower - and there was blue toothpaste smears under the wooden shelf at the sink (not mine). What a wonderful hotel with old world charm and tradition! In the heart of American revolutionary and literary history.

Very quaint inn ideally located to use as a base in order to sight see the surrounding historic sites. The jazz band on Wednesday, Jimmy Mazzy and the Last Minute Men, were awesome.

Quite a nice place to stay if you are going to the Boston area but don't want to stay in the city. Quiet, cozy, comfortable and affordable. There is an excellent restaurant and bar on site, I highly recommend eating there at least once during your stay! Location is lovely, but the room were we given was in the basement, and probably the smallest they have, nothing like the photos they show on-line. Seeing the handicap symbol on the back door, we walked to it, to then be redirected to a hill that led to the front door. Perhaps they meet the letter of the handicap laws, but certianly not the spirit. Had a choice of listening to the noisy a/c or the noisy ice machine and empty soda vending machine. Restaurants all have the same menu, but the decor is different. Food was pretty good, but service was iffy. When asked for a serving spoon,as we were sharing a rice dish, we were given a huge spoon used in the kitchen. My breakfast of french toast with whipped cream and fruit arrived sans the whipped cream, which they were out of so they 'gave' me extra fruit. Had I known, I would have ordered something else. Gorgeous neighborhood, away from craziness of Boston. Nice nostagic feel, could use some updating.

We booked the hotel originally through its own web site. The hotel website does not allow you to book a double room for 3 people so we booked a room with 2 double beds for the 3 of us. We then cancelled the room as it was $70 dollars cheaper through hotels.com. When we arrived we were given a room on the bottom floor with one double bed, even though […] our booking was for 3 people. I thought the hotel was trying to pull a fast one on us as there own site would not allow 3 people in one room with one double bed! I woke up early and turned on the light to find the floor black with ants! the room was infested with ants which were also on the bed. Hotel was beautiful town is lovely only real complaint is the bed. It was horrendous slanted down and cheap. But aside from that its

Hotel is in first class location with lots to see and do within walking or short driving distance. Great for literature, history, poetry, philosophy buffs. Our room was in the basement, which smelled of natural gas, bathroom, bed, and bedroom were so small as to be uncomfortable.

The public rooms were satisfactory. Our room, booked through hotels.com was disappointing. The staff told us we had been upgraded (certainly a line he used for the previous guests as well). The room was decorated in the Colonial style of the area. It was a joy to behold. The restaurant had excellent food for Dinner and Breakfast.

The Colonial Inn is well located for access to all tourist activities in the Concord area. 10 minutes to Walden Pond, many sights within walking distance and the front door faces a charming town square. However, I found it a challenge for my business needs. Room lighting was poor, the quaint-size room left little room for laptop/office work. Breakfast, […] served at 7:30, was too late for me to make it to my 8:00 destination. The charm of an old inn also means that it is NOT ADA compliant - no elevators, some narrow staircases.
