We spent Saturday and Saturday night here. Visiting Monterey is always a pleasure but it was greatly enhanced by the hotel and their staff. I will use this hotel anytime I visit Monterey if possible!!

The only complaint I have is, the air conditioning didn't work very well.

The room was the so small! 300 sq ft.! The place was nice and everything but we were very disappointed to find you cannot park your own car! We just bought a new car and we couldnt stand to let anyone else drive it. So we had to park in the metered parking all weekend. I will not stay here again.

I'd like to highly recommend this hotel and its staff. Especially the front desk person, Clid, who takes very good care of each guest. Excellent hotel, location and service!!

This hotel had excellent service, comfortable rooms, and a perfect location. It's within a very short walk to the wharf for fine dining or a famous chowder bread bowl.

This is an older hotel that was nicely refurbished when Marriott rebranded it. While nice, the rooms are small and their layout is from a different era. The halls are narrow, the ceilings low, and the overall design dated. Worst of all is the parking; valet only (not unexpected) but extremely cramped, even when used only by valet. The valet damaged […] my Porsche the first night, after which I negotiated to park it myself in the valet area, and thus saw the condition of the garage. As a traffic and parking engineer, I would say there is much greater risk of damage to your car here than at most other locations. If that doesn't bother you, go ahead and take the chance! We also stayed at the Clement Intercontinental on Cannary Row on this trip. It is a much better/more modern facility at about the same price. I strongly suggest you go there instead. 더 보기

Convenient location, friendly staff, comfy beds, nice clean rooms. Only draw back was the thin walls. Could here the couple in the next room enjoying what I could only imagine was their Honeymoon night. We got even, we gave them an earful early the next morning. :)

The hotel was great and walking distance to the wharf. It had a sports bar to relax in and they had good food as well. The people were very nice except for the guys that were in charge of getting your valeted vehicle. Overall we loved the hotel and would stay again.

Great location...can walk to everything. Very friendly service. We didn't spend too much time in the hotel, so can't comment on gym, etc.

Stayed here for a girls' weekend, and we were disappointed from the start. Parking situation was chaos - hotel has valet parking only (fine with me, but drop off area is crazy). If you want to park your car yourself, it is a few blocks away. Got room keys, but they would not work (went back to desk 3 times & on 3rd try a manager went to room with us […] - still no luck - had to call a maintenance person to get lock to work). In the meantime, the whole floor seemed to be in disarray with the staff still cleaning rooms and trying to vacuum hallways (very dirty) with guests arriving. Surrounding area seems blighted with so many empty storefronts. Not impressed. Do ot plan to return. 더 보기

Very nice hotel. Our room was ready and we were allowed to check in very early which was greatly appreciated. The trolley is just across the street so we took it back and forth to Fishermans Wharf and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. My five year old thought the trolley was awesome. Next time we will ask to not be on the pool side. There were many children […] playing in the pool until about 10 which made it more difficult for our son to fall asleep with the giggling from below. I've booked a room with 2 double beds through Hotels.com. Instead - I was offered a "lounge" or some kind of recreational/conference room converted into a guest room with only 1 bed and random pieces of furniture. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, the hotel manager was able to find an inflatable bed, which was delivered at ~ 2 am. That bed was very […] uncomfortable and made squeaky noise. That hotel needs a major renovation. And its management needs to stop this practice of "creating" guest rooms out of other spaces. Otherwise during your stay at Marriott Monterey you might find yourself sleeping in a gym or hallway. 더 보기

bad start as they did not send a bellboy to take our luggage. no fridge in room. dirty swimmingpool. phone to roomservice did not deliver the thing we asked for. not a good hotel

Great location! This place is right where everything is happening. Clubs, beach, convention center, and shopping. The staff was very friendly and the rooms super clean with lots of pillows and a nice big flat screen tv. The only negative thing I would say is the high price for water left in the room but that seems to be standard practice at nice hotels. […] I just don't understand why the need to charge $3.50 for a bottle of water. Bring your own drinks and you will be a very satisfied customer. This place is really great. 더 보기

Hotel is a great location, not our first nor our last stay there. Had trouble with toliet plugging up, but after 4 attempts they did get the issue solved. Short walk to most attractions in Monterey.

The room is classy and location were both great. For the price you pay you would think the internet and parking would be free, but they add significant fees to your stay. The beds are not very comfortable either.

Even though this hotel has been there forever, it is well maintained and conveniently located to everything you want to see while in Monterey. Public parking garages are nearby too if you want to avoid hotel parking charges since street parking is limited. Great restaurants and sights within walking distance. Only one negative...extremely THIN walls […] between rooms so you'll hear more than you want to hear of your neighbors! 더 보기

Not as nice as other marriotts I've stayed in and probably not worth the extra $. There are many other choices in the area that would have better value because in this marriott you are not getting the "niceties" that usually come with the name. Location is great however...

The bed was so very comfortable. I thought the room was overpriced and a little small but the bed was so soft and the tv was so big that I was happy.

They had a wedding on the 10th floor, and we could get no sleep. The staff did not really care. They finally moved our room at 12:30 at night. Who builds a ballroom on the top floor, anyway? Stay clear of this place.

Our stay was extremely pleasurable. The Hotel overall was very clean, and smelled good as well, which is rare, and the room and bed were very comfortable. Had a slight problem with the T.V., it charged us with renting a movie without clicking the Accept button, but we called the front desk and they took care of it, no problem. Monterrey on a Friday night is over-priced no matter where you stay. Our room was spacious and in a decent location, but the room was not clean. The staff did remedy the situation while we were out for dinner, but a top hotel would go further to apologize with a discount, or a complementary bottle of wine or something. And when the maid cleaned up the […] bathroom at our request, the cleaning bottle was left behind on the bathroom floor. The toilet paper holder was also falling out of the wall and finally crashed the morning we left. Not what I expect for such a high-priced place. 더 보기
