I enjoyed my time at the Howard Johnson. It was a three long block walk to the casinos , and one block over to the boardwalk. There is also a small diner located in the Howard Johnson, the breakfast was ok nothing to bragg about.The staff were friendly the price was right, and I would definitely stay again.

The first night's stay was on a Friday. The front desk and the bell man were very helpful, even parking my car. But on the second night, the front desk person was not too friendly. He did come and help out with a problem I had with the TV control. He questioned why I moved my car from a very far isolated location to next to the hotel entrance! I insisted […] I felt safer being close to the hotel than in an isolated area! He insisted I park next to the wall when it was apparent the parking lot was fairly empty! He made me move my car! 더 보기

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a 4-day getaway weekend. It was not in the nicest area of town and we weren't sure how safe we were walking around. On the plus side, it was only about a 5 minute walk to the boardwalk and 15 minutes walking from the big casinos, and there were some moderately decent eateries nearby. I would recommend price-comparing at the casino hotels first, but if you want to come to AC on a budget and don't mind walking around in an urban area, it's not a bad way to go. 더 보기

everything is according to the price they have - i mean don't expect luxury and pay peanuts clean, decent, one block to the beach, few blocks from the buses that run NYC -AC, jitney stop right in front of hotel( connects all casinos ) perfect for a weekend, I will go again

Stayed one night and my husband and I was glad. The room next to us sounded like WWF was coming out of there. The walls were shaking and the noise was loud. This was 5'oclock in the afternoon. Then 4.15 in the morning we recieved 3 quack calls telling us that they were calling from the front office . One and done.

I liked the location of the Howard Johnson Inn we stayed at. I was celebrating my Birthday that weekend, so I was happy to get a Hotel that was affordable and convenient for me. All of the casinos were easy to get to (within walking distance), so we could take our pick as to which casino we wanted to go to. Four friends and myself stayed at this property for NYE 2011-12. We were looking for a place near the casinos, but without the cost of staying in the casino. We found a few inaccuracies on the website (brunch, shuttle) but overall goin the property very accommodating. The front desk staff was very courteous, even giving us a cot for the fifth person. […] They were able to give us adjoining rooms. The hotel rooms are not the fanciest, but were clean and suited our purposes for a place to sleep. There is a 24 hour Chinese restaurant across the street, and the hotel was about a ten minute 2 block walk to the Trump Taj Mahal. Your car will be blocked in when you park, which could be a problem for families. My party ranged in age from 25-28 so we walked/cab/jitney bussed anywhere. I have had horrible experiences at other Howard Johnson's, and was certainly nervous, but the hotel was fine and we would certainly stay there again. 더 보기

Outdated building and furnishings in area with many skidrow type characters.

The location is great. Near the boardwalk, casinos and shopping center. The hotel personnel are very helpful.

this isn't a fancy hotel but what you get is a clean and quiet room. walking distance from casinos, bus terminal and a jitney stop right downstairs.

Hotel just 1 long block from boardwalk near The Taj Mahal.. overall clean..Very nice sleek modern decor in the lobby..but the rest of the place (hall ways and rooms) could use a facelift.. I was in NJ on business for the week but I went to AC to Gamble and have fun for the weekend! In all honesty I was barely in my room; only there for minimal sleep and shower. The price is great and the hotel is nice. The neighborhood is a little scary at night. Its not in a good neighborhood. Coming back late at night there were questionable people across the street. It's a block off the boardwalk and there's really nothing else around it. Your car is safe with 24 hour parking lot attendee. I wouldn't stay there again.

the place is very horrible. unless you want to stay in a place that smells like weed and full of people who resemble prostitutes, i do no, let me repeat, I DO NOT suggest that you stay here. but on the other hand, if you love prostitutes, this hotel is conveniently located across the street from a chinese food restaurant and surrounding by a place that […] looks like a developing project, in other words..."the hood". 더 보기

I had a great experience!! at first i was worried about bed bugs and or my things being safe while I was away from the room. I didnt have any issues at all. I look forward to staying here again.

The Hotel Was Clean, Staff Was Friendly

The hotel location was excellent for my wife & I.The boardwalk, the casinos were in walking distance.I would stay there again.

Our room was clean and the only problem we had with the room was the fact that it had only scalding hot water in the shower and no cold water. The firm bed was very comfortable. However, the hallways of the hotel were filthy dirty. It looked like the walls and floors never get cleaned there, and spilled food throughout the halls and public areas did […] not get cleaned up speedily. In addition to the dirt, the wallpaper was torn in various spots all throughout the hotel and the carpet was bleached in various spots all throughout the hotel. I never saw anyone in the pool nor did my family go in it because it was so cloudy you couldn't even see one foot deep into the water. Walking from my room, we felt like we were in the same slums as the outside area until we got to the boardwalk. The attached restaurant served good breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this Howard Johnson Inn was for the extremely low price. It was very clean and all the staff I encountered were very friendly and helpful. I felt safe walking back to the hotel late in the evening. It is literally a block away from the boardwalk and beach. I enjoyed my stay, it was cut short because of Hurricane Irene...

The staff of this HoJos was absolutely rude! The parking situation is ridiculous and I was forced to surrender my car keys because they randomly move your vehicle into extremely cramped areas! I was so disappointed with this stay. The one bright spot was a sweet pool guy!

This hotel was what I was expecting. A cheap hotel close enough to the casinos and the boardwalk to make it worth the stay. Otherwise, the area around the hotel did not seem safe to me and fights happened around the hotel at all hours. I probably won't stay there ever again.

Free parking, close to many major casinos, easy to get to and good basic accomodation ... neighborhood has little to offer late at night in the way of restaurants/bars/etc., so be prepared ...

I've stayed at other Howard Johnson hotels before and found them to be clean and comfortable, but this particular one was old, not well maintained, dirty and the front desk service was terrible! The information I was given by the very sarcastic front desk attendant was misleading and it led to me doing extra walking in the middle of the night. The […] neighbourhood was awful. Drug dealers, pimps and prostitutes standing on the other side of the street all day long arguing and posting an intimidating atmosphere throughout the entire day. The adjacent restaurant closed at 4:00 pm leaving us with no practical place to eat dinner at. By the way the food is greasy and poorly cooked there anyways. Don't stay anywhere else but a good major casino hotel in Atlantic City and then stay in doors. The entire casino corridor is dangerous and dirty and. If you like gambling Las Vegas would be a much better choice. 더 보기

I rented this room for my boyfriend and myself for one night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is clean and decently close to the casinos and boardwalk.

This hotel has the best front desk personnel. They were so helpful. However, I would appreciate if all non-smokers could be housed on the same wing and smokers on a different wing. Although I stayed in a non-smoking room, I was bothered by the constant smell caused by someone smoking in the adjacent room. Otherwise, the service was excellent.

This hotel is in a great location! It's just two blocks from the boardwalk. The beds are not the most comfortable, but for the money it was tolerable.

This hotel was situated close to our favorite casinos! It definitely was nice to stay there, the parking was free which was awesome... Our only thing was the pool didn't seem to be open after management was gone... Which was a bummer since most of the day wasn't spent at the hotel... We wanted to swim in the evening... Slummy neighborhood. Hotel parking lot has sign that says "Park at Your Own Risk". Not a safe neighborhood. Left after a few hours.

I stayed for the 2011 Dave Matthews Caravan Festival. The staff was amazing and the little attached diner was clutch for coffee and breakfast. The rooms aren't 5 star, but they're fine if you're on a budget. They also have a mini fridge and a safe if you choose to use. Thanks.. Bye

My brother and I went to AC for a Saturday and Sunday night to mostly play poker. We had no problem finding or parking at this HoJo. We were met in the tiny lobby with the distinct smell of weed. Our room was clean, but it never really got cool. The TV was completely broken, as in it had no buttons. It is only two blocks to the boardwalk. However, these […] are two scary blocks. I am pretty sure we almost got mugged on Sunday night and I would not walk it alone under any circumstances. This place is certainly more of a crashpad than a place to hang out. 더 보기
