Nice hotel, but heavily overpriced for a fairly basic room. However, entirely clean and comfortable.

Do not be fooled by the new plush reception and restaurant area - the rooms above are reminiscent of a welsh farmhouse with a pokey separate toilet from the bathroom and strange pebbledash wall & ceiling covering. Not to mention the bobbley blankets on the pull out beds. These hotel rooms are not worth the high price at all. Suggest you stay in the […] Ibis or the Etap budget hotels that are literally next door - no they won't be quality but at least the price would reflect that. 더 보기

It is very convenient to access from the station. very kind stuffs. The one thing I was dissapointed was toilet. It was hard to flash.

We chose this hotel as it was reasonably priced and convenient for what we where looking for. After a long energetic day the staff at reception were welcoming and informative. Very convenient for the railway station and the town centre. Spent 3 nights here visiting family. I would thoroughly rcommend it. Check in took about 2 minutes, the room was spacious and comfortable. All the staff I met were very helpful and courteous. On the whole an excellent stay. We stayed in an executive room which was very comfortable. All staff were friendly and helpful. We used the pool area a couple of times and it was lovely although can get crowded if a few people are in at the same time. Breakfast was included and there was a great choice.

Modern and contemporary hotel. The whole building lost its hot water on the second night causing us to be delayed in showering before heading out for the night. No proper explanation was given for this but upon bringing it up on checkout we were offered a free but couldn't make use of this owing to us having a train to catch. We chose this hotel for a two day stay due to the location. The railway station (10 mins walk) for a trip to the IOW as a foot passenger on the Fast cat via Portsmouth, the Mayflower terminal (15 mins by car) for a P&O cruise and the walking distance to the centre of Southampton .

Stayed here night before our cruise departed from the port. Right on the doorstep for eateries if you did not want to eat in the hotel. We chose it for a one-day night stay for two adults and an 11-year-old. Painless check-in and departure, competent service, a well equipped room and nearness to the Ocean Quay shopping centre and cinema complex made the Novotel ideal for the purpose. We used the restaurant for dinner because at 6pm on Saturday night almost all the other restaurants […] in the area were proposing a 45 minute wait time. It wasn't we intended but the menu showed French flair and imagination and offered better value than the places with the long waiting times. The overall style is French contemporary and the leisure facilities more than adequate for an overnight stay. The management might like to consider whether it really needs to charge £5 for overnight parking and it was difficult to see the added value in the Executive Room which we chose at premium rate. 더 보기

Understaffed, check in took forever, room layout, furniture and bed comfort awful. Constant smell of strong bleach, shower leaked all over the fall which then went into room. Restaurant service awful, fish and chips over cooked, replaced with an undercooked/raw effort. Bar service - would've been quicker to have gone to the nearby Tesco and bought some. great hotel but no one to man the reception late on and had to knock on the door for some attention, room was clean and tidy except at the underside of the bed was a dogs toy of some sort so not thoroughly checked and cleaned by staff.£4 to stay in the car park overnight a bit steep as you are paying to stay in the hotel.

Stayed down with couple of friends in one room and was very comfortable with plenty of room for the 3 of us. Only slight blip was a random stain on the mattress which i'm pretty certain we didn't cause!

Stayed overnight as had a visit to the Mayflower Theatre planned. Hotel easy to find and carpark a bonus. Room adequate, staff very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was varied and tasty.Took opportunity to use the lesuire facilities and was very impressed. Helpful and efficient reception and a comfortable well presented room. We dined in the hotel which provided a menu with interesting dishes. The food was well cooked and sufficient. Breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice, including Coopers Oxford Marmalade! Car parking was a bonus and not expensive.

Hotel was ideally located for large west quay shopping centre. Also mcdonalds across road and Odeon IMAX cinema. Only 20 minutes drive from Paultons Park. Pool was lovely and warm, my 7 year old daughter loved it and usually just her and myself in there. Food in hotel was very nice around £14 for a main course, kids can have a 3 course meal for £7.95. The hotel is close to many amenities and we chose it as an overnight stay before a cruise due to its promximity to the cruise terminal.

no more, no less. Clean comfortable rooms - not generous size wise but adequate. Good breakfast. BUT internet access is exhorbitant.

Hotel looks fairly modern from the outside, and the main public areas are all quite smart smart and welcoming. The rooms however are decorated in a way more fitting to a hotel from the 1980's with a kind of woodchip wallpaper. The bed was on some kind of metal frame and wasn't the comfiest, infact I'm wondering if I was actualy given the "superior […] room" I hade paid for because it fell weel short of being superior (wasn't even to the standard of a premier inn". We had super service from reception to restaurant; nothing was too much trouble and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was top quality; we chose a la carte but they were also serving a family buffet which was great value. We stayed for one night before our cruise. Hotel location is very convenient for train station, port, local stores and restaurants. Room, fitness facilities, restaurant and bar all excellent. Only downside, there was a surcharge for WiFi. Internet free if you connect by network cable in room, but many people travel with WiFi only devices. I had my […] iPad, no computer. My husband and I along with our 2 year old son needed a hotel to stay one night in a convenient location. We chose the Novotel because it seemed like good value and were really impressed with it's great service and child friendliness. It was clean, modern and ideally located. The hotel is in a compound of three hotels (Novotel, Ibis and Etap) - I'm not sure which is the best, but the Novotel seems to have the best Lobby and Bar. The room itself is fairly standard - no complaints but nothing special. Breakfast is quite good - we had it included in our room price but not worth £15/head. Location is excellent - there are […] quite a few shops/restaurants closeby. It's close to the centre of of Southampton and also to the New Forest. Parking is £4/day for hotel residents. Stayed here for one night. Used the fitness rooms, tried the restaurant and everything was perfect. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. All in all a good hotel.

My husband, myself and our 2 kids stayed here last Sunday night before heading to Paulton's Park for the day on Monday. We were really pleased with the hotel - great facilities (including the pool which we availed of), very nice family room and very pleasant staff. Nice, clean, modern hotel with pool and gym. breakfast is excellent and staff friendly. Wou7ld revisit, although it is a 20 minute walk to the town centre for decent pubs and restaurants.

Clean very tidy hotel, freindly welcoming staff, close to city centre so parked car at hotel cost £4, views from building not great, but as a base for overnight or 2 night stay good

For girlie catchup weekend this was excellent. Pool, gym and sauna with towels. Restaurants nearby for meals. Cocktails at midnight! Comfortable room for 3 adults. Nice having sep toilet to bathroom. Near to famous blue furniture store, all the shops, station and all the things you would like to do. Couldn't get over how central it was. Sight of cruise […] ships also! Never met more helpful and polite staff from reception - maids - waiters. Nothing was too much trouble. The diiner very good (even though a tad expensive) and the breakfast which was included in the price was excellent with a large range to choose from. I had a very nice and pleasent time at the Novotel.

Great place to stay. Local shopping just across the road. The swimming pool must be the warmest in the UK! Fantastic gym and fitness centre. Beer price a tad expensive. Would recommend the Novotel.

Excellent service throughout our stay. Staff are consistent and highly professional in their care and attention. Very nice family room, and brilliant buffet-breakfast included in the price we paid. Swimming pool is small-ish but great. Clean and very warm. Kids loved it and we had it to ourselves most of the time. Sauna adds a nice touch too. Our 8 […] year-old made full use of the free X-Box and Wii. One small complaint was that the bathroom washbasin plug was broken and the room got a bit cold at night because the heating failed. the hotel is really nice enough, and handy for the isle of wight ferry, but the gym and pool facilities were, well, a little strange. not only did you have to walk through the gym from the changing rooms (in your swimmers) to get to the pool, but the gym and pool are separated by a glass wall, and all the exercise machines are facing the pool, so you […] feel like you're swimming in a goldfishbowl. the pool is tiny, and the sauna was out of order. 더 보기

Sea bass and 2 side veg dishes at around £25 - was cold greasy and we asked for bed of mash to be swapped for new potatoes - did not arrive. Meal was 2 starters (goats salad - 2 bits of melted cheese and 4 rocket leaves), 2 mains (sea bass) and 2 veg side dishes (hard green beans and cold roasted vegetables), 2 coffees and 1 bottle of wine (2 bar drinks) […] was £84!. Had an enjoyable stay at the Novotel whilst attending a function at Ocean Village. Staff were friendly and helpful. The late checkout was excellent as we had, had a late night. Breakfast was exceptionally good and plenty of it.
