We arrived in terrible weather in late October. The dining room had just closed that day for the season, so we were directed to town, where we had a wonderful meal at a place the front desk recommended. Poor customer service. Layed on the floor to put wine ifn the smaller than camp size refrigerator sitting on the floor. Rude front desk staff. Poor dingy accomodations!!! Left a day early, couldn't stand it anotrher minute!

I arrived after dark and it should be noted that there are two entrances. The main hotel and check in is the second entrance. The hotel room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There were plenty of fresh towels. The access to the park (about 2 miles) and the town (not walking distance, but there is a bus) was excellent. It was pouring during […] my stay, and having the ability to dash back to the hotel from the park for a warm shower and change of clothes was very important. the grounds appeared to be well manicured, with a flower garden near the pool. Nice bathroom, sparkling clean. Friendly staff, solved a reservation problem (somehow my reservation got booked under my first name) in an efficient manner. Beautiful grounds and gorgeous views of the oceans. Lots of flowers and plenty of places to stroll around and sit down. One area to improve: Parking lot was too dark.

The overall stay was great, but there was no place to change near the pool or hot tub for people staying in outlining buildings.

This Holiday Inn is a step above othe holiday Inn's. Its more of a resort. Very nice place.

Get a room with a water view to best enjoy the beautiful gardens, the excellent pool area, and the wonderful views over Frenchman's Bay.

beautiful location, not too close to town but not far either. Although the food and service was just ok still it can be a ok place to stay if you think you will never need any help from front desk or management. There was power outage during our stay and the only source of light for the entire hotel was GLOW STICK. My son was running fever and I couldn't […] see the dose for medication I was giving him. ( it was pitch black).. When I complained all I heard was "we have provided glow stick for everyone ... and ... there is nothing we can do". Convenient location about midway between Acadia Nat'l Park entrance and downtown Bar Harbor. Free shuttles to the park and downtown. We purchased a package with breakfast (both hot and continental breakfasts were provided). Great value. Two restaurants plus a poolside snackbar. I would stay here again.

Well, in hindsight wish we would have been able to stay the entire time. Room was really nice, expensive but fun resturant. Waiter named Andy was great at the lobster pound in the Stewman's resturant. The staff was friendly, probably overpriced for what you get, but the work out room and the pool/spa is nice. I asked for a room with view, stay away […] from room 264. Big tree in the middle of your view. I would avoid the second floor all together and go higher, and more to the middle of the floor. Swimming Pool, Tiki Bar , and Seafood Restaurant right on the Ocean. Great location - close to downtown shopping and restaurants. Very comfortable accommodations and friendly/helpful service. Beautiful well maintained grounds too. We were very impressed and would gladly recommend to anyone!

I was worried because some of the reviews were negative but I found they were wrong. Great view, pool was very large and looked out onto the habour. Food was delicious however we were not told about the kids eat free deal until later in the stay. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Shower head was powerful so you felt great afterwards. We had a great 3-night stay; super location and views, good restaurant, and a very nice pool. Close enough to the downtown to walk but there's bus transport from the hotel with frequent pickups. Only downside is that they only have one public computer, always busy, and it's located smack in the middle of the lobby.

The hotel is on the waterfront overlooking Frenchman's Bay. We upgraded to rooms with ocean view and it was worth it. We also had a private balcony. The room was very clean. We enjoyed our breakfasts, and also made use of the outdoor heated pool and hot tub. Downtown Bar Harbor was about 1 mile away, but we did not have trouble parking. The ferry terminal […] is next door, but we didn't hear the ferries. The entrance to Acadia park was nearby. The staff were friendly. One problem we had was poor Internet access in our room. Also, the staff changed the towels every day instead of allowing guests to reuse their towels. 더 보기

We made last minute vacation plans and was lucky enough to get reservations at this hotel. I really was not expecting it to anything special because of its age. We were pleasantly surprised. The hotel and of course, our room werevery clean with all the amenities. The surroundings were beautiful and overlooked the ocean. We stayed one night and it was perfect. Had a problem with the air conditioning on arrival but hotel service responded right away and corrected the problem. The area was easy to find, very quiet and I slept better than I have in years. The bed was excellent.

What a surprise!! This hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was great, nice and clean. The hotel offers a breakfast to bed service, which was so romantic. The pool by the water was soooo beautiful. Such a great destination for a romantic time away.

The room was fine, but the thinness of the wall made every sound as clear as if in our room. Door slamming during wee hours of the morning, showers running at 4am, toilets flushing during the night all made for very little sleep. Won't ever stay there again.

Holiday Inn Sunspree located on bay with beautiful view, nice gardens, and great swimming pool.

Hotel wasn't the cleanest. Location was good. I think we could have gotten a similar hotel for about $60 less elsewhere. Breakfast wasn't included. Internet was VERY slow. Wouldn't stay here again.

Although we were pleasantly surprised by the initial appearance and upscale presentation of the hotel, I would say that the service was just slightly below expectations. Room service didn't get up to our room until after three in the afternoon and some of the staff were politely disinterested at best when we asked for tourist information or directions. The downside to that is that there was no continental breakfast, but I guess it's a fair tradeoff. The accomodations were clean and pleasant and the staff were just fine. Worth a stay.

A few odd things about this hotel. The front door doesn't have a door man and you have to drag your bags through the swinging door. It is hard to drag suitcases through a door that is weighted to shut without help. The room and hotel were great but the bathroom was filthy. It's like they stopped cleaning when they finished the bedroom. Hairs and plant […] material throughout. Coffee shop in the lobby?? Well they serve drip coffee. The girl didn't know how to use the expresso machine, she was the bartender. They only had 4 chocolate muffins. Not what I expected with such a beautiful hotel. It is clear the employees at this hotel are unhappy, and their unhappiness is a plague that spreads to the guests of this "could be very nice" hotel. After arm-wrestling for position -- "a room with a view" -- and having to prove I'd paid for breakfast with the room (skip the buffet and order off the menu unless you are a big eater), having to wait […] for the room more than an hour beyond the guaranteed room time of 4:00, then finding out that there is no policy behind this supposed guarantee (a glass of wine or free dinner perhaps for missing the deadline), it was hard to appreciate the assets of the hotel. But there were many. The food at the restaurant on the dock was terrific, but again, lacked courteous service. The view was wonderful from our room, but many of the so-called pay-extra-for-a-view rooms lacked authenticity. There is a shuttle provided by the area, which helped make the out-of-town (a couple of miles) location work well. The sea-view pool was lovely, but no staff to get beverages or food for you. You had to go to the Tiki bar yourself. This hotel really would be wonderful with a little lesson on manners for the overworked, understaffed employees. 더 보기

forgot that they also have work out facilities, nice bar inside at night, tiki bar outside for day, hot tub is best in town and accomodates about 15 people, open all the time. View is beautiful of Frenchman's Bay, and right near the Cat terminal if you're interested or that helps you locate it on a map. Enjoyed!

Huge hottub and nice pool. Flowers and grounds were gorgeous. Very professional staff. Wonderful FULL buffet with omelet station. Clean room. Fridge, hair dryer, iron, internet, all needs met. Would recommend.

We booked 3 nights at the top Rack rate for this property. The bathroom fan was so loud it could not be used while others were sleeping or watching TV. The management 'promised' 'without a doubt' to fix-they did nothing. We moved for the last night-they put us in a room where once the toliet was flushed-the noise was extreme. i booked an ocean view room. little did I know that the ocean was chlorinated. we could "see" the ocean if we parted the bushes and could see over the fence. I don't think that the staff is aware that the rooms have small patios on the first floor and don't care that when they mow the lawn they blow all the clippings onto the patios. Clippings looked […] like they'd been there for some time. The ceiling looked like it needed to be re done and the outside door was not locked....didn't matter time of day. (I was out at 4:30am for sunrise). I was given a receipt for less than what i booked. It was my 11th booking (my free one). It was not within walking distance to down town. Overall, I'm pleased with the hotel. There were two nice restaurants and a pool-side bar. Kids had a great time in the heated outdoor pool - on a rainy day. The only slight negative was a noisy air conditioner in the room.
