The hotel is a beautiful classic! We went to a concert at the Palace and it is a short block away with great food and bars en route too and from!

Treat yourself to a wonderful night at Louisville's Brown Hotel. Sure, you can find somewhere cheaper to stay, but you won't find anywhere as lovely. Before heading to your room, stop in the luxurious lobby bar for a delicious Manhattan with the best Kentucky bourbon. In your tastefully decorated room you'll find the most comfortable bed and pillows […] and plenty of room for all your things. The large bathroom could use more plush towels, but that's my only complaint. Service is excellent. You'll have sweet dreams at the Brown. 더 보기

Our stay at the Brown Hotel was fantastic. The staff went out of their way to see to it that our needs were met and anticipated. Our room was wonderful and the bathroom was to die for! Our meal at the Hotel restaurant was another special event. The museums in the area were exceptional and easy to get to from the Hotel. We were a bit disappointed that the restaurant wasn't open the Sunday we were there. As it turned out, we were really pressed for time and discovered that room service came from the same kitchen. One of the best meals we've had--room service or not. One short block to the Palace Theater. Who wouldn't love that? We stayed overnight on Christmas Eve. The hotel staff was very, very friendly and responsive to our needs. It was nice to have breakfast on Chirstmas morning!

This was my first visit to Louisville, KY and the Brown Hotel made for a beautiful and comfortable home away from home for a few nights. The lobby is classically beautiful with a bar and plenty of comfortable seating to grab a cocktail and a few laughs. Upgrading to the Concierge level is worthwhile to enjoy the continental breakfasts and happy hour […] beer/wine. The staff is friendly and serves any need with a smile. The beautiful lobby and ballroom speaks for itself. The staff was very, very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Many downtown sights are within walking distance of the hotel, but it is near the edge of the city center as opposed to the center. The accomdations were very clean and in good condition (BIG bathrooms), but some of the features you would […] find in a major chain hotel were absent - curved shower rod, higher quality showerhead, numerous (more than two) big thirsty towels, higher quality coffee maker (but the coffee was very good), more sumptuous bedding (mattress, pillows, sheets, comforter), and room decor that is closer in line with the beatiful lobby and ballroom. I was not disappointed, but I was expecting a little more in the little things. Overall, I was happy with the stay, and I would come back again. 더 보기

Really such a beautiful place to stay in Louisville. The staff are absolutely amazing, as is the lobby. My only (small) complaint is the comfort of the room. It's time to upgrade the mattresses and chairs. No comfortable place to sit in my room. Otherwise, I loved it, and would definitely go back.

No signal on the TV on our last night and the buttons on the phone to call front desk did not work. Rug could have used a cleaning. Went to gift shop next morning and couldn't check us out because of a computer problem. Girl had to write down my credit card information. Staff were very nice and helpful though.

Beautiful historic hotel. You do have to pay to park, so an added expense there.

Once you get past the lobby of this hotel it is all down hill. I understand that it is supposed to be an historic hotel. However, the dust covered fake blue/pink flowers in a vase were more cheap than historic. And I could not quit itching when I got in the bed. The staff is very attentive but let's faces it, the hotel is old and the rooms need sprucing up. Our room faced a busy street so it was loud, the room was damp even with a/c and had a musty smell. The location was ok the first night but after that it was deserted to walk the couple of blocks to 4 th street and the homeless people started to come out. […] I'd stay somewhere else. Everyone was helpful and friendly. John and Ms Cheng on the front desk were extremely helpful and presented an OUTSTANDING face for the hotel. They always greeted you by name and with a friendly smile. They ALWAY asked if we were enjoying our stay and if there was anything they could do to make it more enjoyable. Very good experience.

Absolutely gorgeous old hotel and the service is excellent. They were a bit too free in giving out my room number, and they need to rethink security, especially for women traveling alone, but other than that, staying at the Brown was a wonderful experience.

We love the Brown Hotel - it exudes all the traditions of Louisville. Just wish it was a bit closer to downtown attractions, but other than that would stay there again. We particularly enjoy having a drink at the bar.

We thougherly enjoyed our stay at the Brown Hotel. it is a very nice hotel with a lot of history. It is like going back in time to another era. It is very beautiful. and I took lots of pictures. The staff were all very friendlyand the service was very good.

The Brown Hotel is what Louisville will always be. A historical building with modern touches. The hotel rooms are rather large for the price, the location is great and the people are warm and welcoming.

Positives: The Brown Hotel lobby is beautiful, and the building has an old historic feel. The rooms are comfortable, and the staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful. Negatives: The hotel does not seem worth the money. The location is isolated and it is hard to get around without a car. There is nothing really walking distance from the hotel, […] and the neighborhood does not feel safe even if one wanted to walk the two miles to Main St (especially after dark). The restaurant is very overpriced and stuffy (I recommend restaurants in the Nulu area, or on Bardstown Rd--great food, reasonably priced, and not just your standard steak and potatoes style restaurant). The valet costs $23/day unless you purchase the inclusive package online (luckily we did!), and the valet service was not great. Overall, we had an ok stay, but would not stay here again. 더 보기

Enjoyed our stay for one night at the Brown Hotel, though, as we came on a Sunday night, we missed out on the Grille, which was closed. If you enjoy an old-time hotel with ambiance, I would recommend the Brown Hotel. It's two blocks from the Seelbach, but it offers free in-room wi-fi, which the Seelbach does not (boo hiss!)

The lady that helped us out at check in seemed to be very helpful. We asked her if there was a room available with a good view. She said, "yes, but the room may be a little smaller." We were fine with a (slightly) smaller room with a view, but when we got to the room it was the size of a broom closet with only a full size bed. We had to go back to the […] desk to ask for a different room, for this was far from the quality of room which we paid. (King bed/Club level) The lady that helped us originally quickly left the desk as it was her turn to help us once again, and the gentleman that did help us made it right to place us in a room with a king bed, within a room that was 2.5 to three times bigger than the room that we were originally placed. Fortunately the gentleman made it right for us; however, be aware of the level of room that you purchase when you actually get to your room. Overall, this is a beautiful and historic hotel. The Brown Hotel was wonderful. the hotel was beautiful and the rooms were fabulous. It takes you back to another area. Its a very romantic place. The resteraunt was first class. I will never stay anywhere else when visiting Louisville!

The Brown Hotel is steeped in a rich history and offers exquisite rooms with a glimpse into the past. I was very pleased with the bar area as it was comfortable, the room condition was nice. The problem I had was that the shower did not work, at all, and in the a.m. it was too late to call for it to be fixed, how really verifies that the shower works first thing when you checkin? At checkout I told the front staff of my problem and they thanked me for […] letting them know,... now sorry for the inconvenience or let us pay for your bar tab or breakfast. Hotel accommodations one of the best we've ever had. Loved the ambiance of this great hotel. Only 2 difficulties: could not control the coolness (air conditioning) in the room except to turn it off, and the shower faucet stuck so had to call maintenance to turn it on (quick response from maintenance). I was there for the Ironman and was a perfect location in regards to the finishline. The staff went above and beyond, getting me large quantities of ice for an ice bath after the race. Lobby is awesome and the staff are the best! Coming back soon!

In addition to the problems at check-in, both sets of draperies in the room were torn. The room was in need of renovation and seemed quite dated. I will definitely spend my money elsewhere next time i am in Louisville.

Inattentive doorman, lobby on 2nd floor, parking convenient. Rooms were nicely appointed except for tube TV (should have HDTV for 4 stars). Good downtown location. Walking distance to most attractins except riverfront ( approximately 8 blocks away).

My wife and I stayed at The Brown Hotel only one night, but we would have stayed longer if we could. The staff is friendly and very professional. It exceeded our expectations.
