Although the hotel is close to the airport, there really isn't else around the hotel for dining or entertainment. Additionally, during my stay I'm guessing they are rebranding the restuarant/bar, so it only had a menu of one item.

To be clear, Clarion can't help the neighborhood where it's located. It is the closest hotel to the airport to my knowledge. As far as the condition, well there was a little wear and tear, but not too bad. I used the fitness room though and this was a disaster! Five machines and two of them were broken. I got on the third machine and that broke! By […] the fourth machine, I was praying that I could still get that workout. Most importantly, my room was clean and comfortable! I stayed at the America's Best Inn just down the street before, and that place was nasty; I'm talking roaches in the bed. So the Clarion was a much welcome, clean, comfortable change from that. Hotel location is very convenient to the airport....just a few minutes away and the shuttle is a great convenience...

The hotel was nice, but seemed a bit outdated. The staff was courteous and helpful, until it came time to check out. Though I had paid through hotels.com, my credit card was required upon check in for "incidentals". Upon check out, the receipt I was given was for the cost of the room itself. I brought this to the attention of the clerk. She gave me […] a number to call the next day. I called a total of five times. Had to leave messages with no return call, be left on hold for seven minutes (at which point I hung up), and now, 10 days later (after being promised a refund) I still have not received a refund of the amount that was charged on my card. Each time I have called I am treated as though I am the problem. Not one time has someone apologized for the inconvenience this has caused me. I use hotels.com frequently and have NEVER had this kind of problem. 더 보기

The bar was fun and met a lot of people, the hotel service is avg no issues to report. I will return and stay again.

The shuttle is very convenient from the hotel to the airport. There is a restaurant inside the hotel and that is good. The room was fine. No problems.

We had our 6 month baby with us and a flight first thing in the morning. The lady at the front desk was extremely friendlyand helpful. She got us set up quickly for their shuttle and got us a cart for our luggage. The gentleman drivng the shuttle took us earlier than what we had schedule because we were downstairs and ready to go. Chose this hotel because it is close to the airport. Will pick one further away next time. When I first got to my room, there was already someone in the room. Ok, friendly staff at desk told me there had been problems with the computers because of a large group coming in. You bet! When I had just gone to bed in my new room, someone started knocking […] aggressively at my door insisting to get in my room. I called front desk, at they came up, it turned out someone else thought I was actually in their room. Very bad experience! Booked this hotel at the last minute to attend the Magic City Classic. Location was right off of 20/59 which allowed for easy entry and exit. King Suite beds were comfortable, but could tell that some repairs had been made. Toilet unfortuntely ran all day and night and bathtub filled up when taking a shower. Shower head was totally relaxing though. […] Entry doors were not secured but over all no problems. The Hotel was nice the location to the Airport was wonderful, the only issues was the shower, I'm a tall guy and the head on the shower didn't adjust and leaked all over, and the second issue was unless you want to eat at the airport there really isn't any food options around the hotel.

this was the second time stayin here. the first time nothing was wrong but the hotel is old, so it had a musty smokey smell.this time, i dont really know why our bathroom had a poop smell when it was very clean, we had to close the bathroom door. overall it was still nice.

need more towels in bathroom. could offer one free drink in louge for paying hotel guest. overall good service

The hotel offered an early morning breakfast starting at 4:30am, and a free shuttle to the airport (which is right next door). They offered to accomodate early check in if needed. Not much in the way of restaurants around, but it is right next to I-59 so you can easily get to other parts of town. The service and friendliness of the staff was very nice. The check in and check out was also swift and easy. The only thing I was no pleased with was the inability to use the pool the weekend we were there. It was very hot outside and the pool would have been nice to use. I would probably stay there again since it was just down the road from my mother's […] house. However, I would recommend to anyone who would like to book any hotel for an annemity to call the hotel directly before you book there to make sure that it will be available for use. 더 보기

Dirty. Old. Looks nothing like in the pictures. The pool was actually empty. (No water in the pool)

Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was definitely above average. When we went to swim, though, we found the pool very murky with numerous water boatmen, so gave it a miss.

Loved the sofa and the space. Pillows and douvet. Very pleasant staff.

Personnel exceptionally friendly and helpful. Chose hotel because we had a very early flight in the morning, hotel 5 minutes from airport. Room nice size and comfortable.

Everyone that we met that worked at the hotel was nice and polite. I may never be in Birmingham again, but would use this hotel again.

Great location near airport, hotel had a "smell" to it. No phone in my room.

The pictures looked better than the hotel itself. I was greatly disappointed.

Hotel stay was very good. The bathroom could have used a little more updating as far as paint and fixtures. The check in was pleasant and professional. The stop at the bar and grill was friendly and good. Price wa reasonable.

My stay at your hotel was perfect. I had been on a long flight and this hotel felt just like home. Actually better, because all I had to do was relax. The staff was so welcoming and the room was beyond excellent. I will definitely stay there again on a pleasure trip and when traveling on business I will recommend this hotel to my fellow employees.

This place wasn't all new, but it was a nice place to go to. A big letdown was that the spa and sauna were down for repairs. The room itself was clean--save a stray cricket that was crawling around in the bathroom.

Don't be fooled by the photos. This hotel is not anything as it appears on the website. Check in was slow, the first towel I picked up was dirty, and then we discovered dried vomit on the bathroom wall! The staff apologized when we checked out, but we are not staying there another night!
