Hotel located in "not desirable area" - vacant/delipated blgs around.Very close to Central Train Station was very convient which we needed. Hotel had much clientele, although under renovation. Staff was nice, rooms were very clean & nice.

Considering the bad reviews, found it to be excellent value for money. The bed was REALLY comfortable, and staff very obliging. Shuttle service was also excellent. Due to renovations some hallways etc were messy but room was very clean. All in all fantastic value for money.

Super 8 was under construction.. The hotel looked a mess from the outside... The elevators were old, noisy and dirty. The room appeared ok, however the bathroom was not acceptable...we had to call the Ofiice and asked for the bathroom to be cleaned... it took over an hour to have someone to come to clean... The distance to Beale Street may be just shy of 2 miles, but there is no way to walk there. It is across from the railroad tracks and trains come through all night long! I'd rather pay double and stay somewhere that is more quiet and a true walk to the downtown area.

The room was a disaster. The phone wasn't working (guy came and fix it with a new cord...ok...), the hot water wasn't working (guy came and fixed that but now the water doesn't turn off...and he said "that's alright...let it run...". The bed didn't feel clean. The lock on the door was broken. The shower/bath was dirty. The carpet was badly stained. […] The hotel WAS under renovations...or so said ALL the signs...and that consisted of fresh paint basically. This hotel is in a slum area & not at all attractive or inviting. Upon exaiming our room we decided not to stay. We had to find another hotel for that evening. My suggestion is that somebody from Hotel.com go & view hotels before they recommend them.

Decent hotel for how cheap it was and how close it was to Beale street. If you don't mind roughing it a bit for a night, this hotels not a bad choice. Also there was a shuttle that took us into town for only $3, very convenient!

The location was wonderful in regards to Brake St. They provided a 3 dollar shuttle from 8am to 11pm. The major downside was everything surrounding the hotel was decrepit and abandoned. The scenic view on either side was horrible. All in all, its a good place to crash after partying all-night only!

The Hotel was convenient to go downtown and they had a shuttle but its not in a good neighborhood. Saw an arrest being made and then something was going on in rooms next door all hours of the night

They were "remodeling". It loked like it started years ago and they just never finish. All the building around it were run down, with broken windows. I was afraid to leave my car unattended fir the night. I will NEVER be returning to that motel.

This place is a blues song - down on its luck down by the river. The maintenance guy clearly checked out years ago. Unless you're looking to live out some Leaving Las Vegas fantasy, scrape up a few dollars to stay somewhere else. Anywhere else.

The owner/manager shuttled us everywhere we wanted to go for minimal cost and was usually always available. The room wasnt very updated or super clean looking but it was what I expected for what I paid. Hot shower and clean sheets! I would recommend this place to someone looking for a cheap room to crash in for the weekend.

FOR OLDER HOTEL ==IT WAS OK...

If you want an inexpensive and reliable, well-run room in Memphis, this is the place. Don't expect any frills, though. It's an older property, far from downtown, that has seen better days. The new owners are making clearly a great effort to uplift the place, but even a major renovation can't improve the inconvenient location. Shuttle service to downtown […] is a real plus. I needed a room to stay and I was on a tight budget - so I have no complaints. Cheap hotel but a littler far from downtown (you must take the car to go to the downtown). Good to stay a night and then continue with your trip.

We left a day early because of the state of the hotel as well as the location. We will not be going back. Ever.

Hotel staff very friendly.... coffe was horrible... area of town not the best but I would stay here again for the convience!

We, were dissappointed that when we left our room for the day, we returned to a dirty room. The bed was left just like we got out it. No one had touched the room. When reported to the front desk personell, she replied that house keepers were gone for the day.

Laundry room dryer did not have a vent to the outside, it vented in the room. knob on air conditioner missing. no clock in room.

Although the hotel was right off the highway, it was in a very run down part of the city. As a single female traveling alone, I felt very uncomfortable staying here. When I checked in, I wasn't asked for my photo ID, my credit card or my reservation number. Everything was very outdated, the refrigerator wasn't in working condition, there was mold on […] the ceilings and in the bathroom. The headboard actually came off the bed, it wasn't attached to the wall, just hanging on a ledge. The price was cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. The parking was terrible, you have to back out of the parking area. Numerous cars were parked so as to take more than one space. When I asked the staff to address with the tenants, i was told to park across the street in an area that had no lighting. I read the reviews after I had booked this hotel and was worried about what I had booked. The reviews were pretty bad. Much to my surprise, while the hotel is quite run down, (they are trying to fix it up) the location pretty abandoned, the hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and polite and I felt safe. Memphis is not the safest city in the US […] and if I did go back to Memphis, I would stay here again. The hotel shuttle for a few dollars will take you to Beale St or Graceland. 더 보기

This was one of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed in. The room was in bad shape and we found dirty panties in the bed sheets. The towels that we received were also dirty and brown. The room also had a very bad smell. I will not stay there again.

Located in a residential/industrial area. Dated but acceptable as far as cleanliness. Free breakfast is okay, but limited...mainly 2 kinds of cereal, muffins, bagels with cream cheese, coffee and juice that tasted like Tang to me. Would stay there again for the price. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only a mile and a half from Beale St., get there in […] about 5 minutes via car. Pool looked beautiful, but we ran out of time to use it. Computer in the lobby with usage limited to 15 minutes. We did use the computer to check on bank balances, but did have to wait on other guests for our turn. If you are expecting a fancy hotel, this isn't the place for you! But if you want a clean, a great staff and place close to everything in Memphis this is a great place to stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The shuttle to downtown is $3.00 per person and a the cab fare is around $11.00 including tip.

From the outside the motel looked ok. The neighbohood was scary. So we decided to look at the room to make sure we would stay. (Our money was non-refundable, we knew this when I made the reservation), so we figured we're just sleeping there one night as long as there are no bugs and reasonably clean we'd stay. The room didn't smell very good, but we […] lived with it. The main thing is that there was a power outage in the area that night that affected 7,000 ppl. There was NO lighting in the stairwells..completely dark. The girl at the font desk did bring her BIC lighter to light the way, from the bottom of the steps. NOT safe at all!! Parking is not convenient either..the parking spaces all slant the same direction on two sides and there is no turn around area. You have to back all the way out onto the road, and ask other cars to move if they pull in while you are trying to leave. The one plus was that we were right on the river. Because of my experience at this Super 8, I will never stay at another one. I maybe saved $30 compared to another nicer hotel, in a nicer neighborhood. My daughter and I were driving to Illinois and decided to get a room in downtown Memphis for the night. Because the hotel is located directly off the highway that is under a great deal of construction, it didn't appear to be in most savory location. It is a fairly old hotel, so the walls a ceilings were dated...but the bed was very comfortable and seemed […] fairly new. It was only 10 minutes from Beale St and downtown Memphis. Although the staff was very friendly, the hotel itself was a huge disappointment. Our first room was supposed to be non-smoking but, the door was opened when we walked in, someone had been sleeping in the bed and there was a cup on the nightstand with cigarette butts in it. Let's just say that I arrived and was greeted by a rude attendant, was alarmed at the run down appearance of the lobby and outside areas, but when I went to the room and saw the sagging beds and old, dingy, and badly stained carpet, I immediately left. The staff seemed like their geust did not matter at all. The room smelled and was small and dark. Breakfast was terrible and the pool was dirty. The only plus was that it was close to Beale Street.

It was a nightmare hotel to stay in. I am a very well-traveled person due to me being in the military and I would not wish this hotel on anyone that wants a good night’s sleep and security. I, my wife and dog are traveling across the US and we book this hotel due to its convenience to the road we were traveling on. I opened the door which was stuck […] and I had to use a little shoulder to open the door. I felt that something was just not right with the room the paint was bubbling on the walls and the area we were in was very run down. As we check out the room the sink and the shower were both leaking water so we put wash cloths in them so we could not hear them. We went to bed and then the mirror came off the wall and crashing on to the bottom of the bed. I got up and picked up the mirror and moved it to the side and after that I could not sleep so we started to pack up the stuff. I went and told management about the mirror and ask them to give us 30 mins so my wife could get showered and dressed and while I was packing the car the manager tried to access the room. Of course my dog went crazy wend he just opened the door and I came running when I heard the dog barking. As I turned the corner I saw the manager standing there. I ask him what he was doing. He tried to explain to me that he needs to see the mirror and he said he knocked and entered the room to find my 80 lbs. dog on the other side. I told him to give us 30 mins and he came within 5 mins. I told him to wait outside until my wife is finished dressing. After a few mins I let the manager in to inspect the room and told him that he was wrong for accessing the room without permission. When we got to our room we pulled the covers back on the bed and there was dried saliva on the pillow there was also hair in the tub and on the shower walls. When the manager came in to talk with us he said he would give us our money back and we could go some place else, very nasty attitude

The quality of the room was sub-standard; especially considering the top prices they advertise. Panels on the sink still had clamps holding it on. Any shiny surface was corroded or rusted; even the picture frame over the bed. The toilet was not anchored down so it had a wobble. There was a power strip attached to the switch as you enter. It was […] compromised by someone drilling holes into it so it could be anchored to the wall. But even that was poor since the power strip could be wiggled loose. The refrigerator had a huge ice build-up. But that was corrected as the "ice bergs" came loose during the night. As the ice in the refrigerator melted, it leaked onto the carpet. There's no telling how long this has been happening and whether or not there is a mold build-up in the carpet, which carpet must be 30 years old. (Speaking of mold, after the ice melted, here was some dark build-up around the drain in the refrigerator. It could have been mold.) The satellite channel selection was limited. But the biggest insult was on the morning of check-out, most of the channels were blocked. I didn't bother asking but I can only assume it was to encourage the people not to stay too long. Half of the parking lot only allowed entering and exiting in one direction. That is, if you pulled into the parking space facing forward, there was no way to pull out and turn around so we had to back out of that lot. The following evening I backed into the parking space so I could safely exit. The view was terrible. The view of the river was mostly obstructed by trees. There was an old building relic; an unused and dilapidated U.S. Army Reserve Center. Adjacent to the hotel on the ground level was a garden but it looked like a trash lot. Anything growing there was planted late and it had plastic bags and shingles laid on the ground to minimize the weeds. It looked like something in a tent city.
