Excellent service from delightful staff. Breakfast and breakfast service good and very fast-important when you have a train to catch. Hotel would benefit from some repair work and redecoration. My bedroom hairdryer fell to pieces as soon as I touched it and the shower pipe had a hole in so water sprayed everywhere, and although very clean the corridors […] needed some redecoration to cheer up their appearance. Apart from these issues my stay was very pleasant and I would choose to stay there again, as the staff were so helpful etc. 더 보기

The business suite was quiet and very comfortable.It was good to be able to have an early morning swim allthough the sauna wasn't working and the changing rooms had no secure lockers. Overall the food and service were good. We would stay again.

Excellent location but some of the room fittings were broken. The bed and pillows were really hard and the bed made a rather loud noise every time I moved. Not a bad hotel though for the money I paid

Have stayed at this Hotel many times in the past. (Under different Managements). The Staff here are excellent, and extremely friendly and considerate. The Restaurant Manager, Louis, shows dedication to his position, and consideration to Hotel Clientele. A most pleasant and relaxing experience. Looking forward to our next stay at the Goldthorn. Staff friendly, but very disappointed with room allocation, we have stayed at this hotel a few times and after recommending it too friends, we needed 5 rooms but reception weren't very accomodating which ruined the occasion, I was also placed in a standard room even though I paid extra for a superior twin room, again when I queried this with reception […] i was offered a four poster room, this wasn't helpful i was sharing the room with my Father. 더 보기

Super Staff. Most relaxing stay. Looking forward to next time.

Having been born in Wolverhampton and knowing the Goldthorn’s past reputation we booked a 2 night stay. To say we were sadly disappointed was an understatement. The room allocated to us was in the Business Centre at the far end of the car park, quite a walk from the main part of the hotel. The building is in somewhat of a time warp, the entrance, carpets […] (tread bare, especially stairs) and decoration in the communal areas desperately needed updating. Chairs in the hall way were thick with dust and other seats looked as though they would leave your clothes stained. On a positive note, the room had been newly decorated, looking fresh and clean along with the en-suite, but the interconnecting door to the room next door meant that a lot of noise travelled. We were kept awake until the early hours. Only 2 out of the 7 rooms on that floor were occupied, so why put people in adjoining rooms? We were also woken by the central heating coming on at 5.30am and dustmen under the window, emptying bins at 6.00am. On the first morning we turned up for breakfast, both service and food was good. The following morning we arrived at 7.30, as we had to be somewhere by 8.45. After taking our order we waited for a while only to be informed that we had to wait for the chef, the breakfast staff did try to get our food for us only to be rebuffed by the chef, we complained at reception and only after the receptionists intervention did our food finally arrive at 8.05 (other guests by now had walked out cancelling their order). We discovered the chef was giving precedence to a “Breakfast Club” in another part of the hotel. It did feel as though the paying guests were considered by the chef as unimportant and could wait. We will not be staying at the Goldthorn again and certainly will not recommend it to anyone else. 더 보기

Very good in every way

Hotel was fine cheap and nearly cheerful, needs a coat of paint down the corridors.

Just returned from our stay in the Goldthorn Hotel. We have stayed at this Hotel many times in the past, (about 4 times per year). It is central to most activities in the Black Country Area, and a Ten minute walk to the City area. The Staff are Superb, particularly the Restrurant staff. Louis, the Manager, is a particularly welcoming, friendly, and […] genuine person who would make even the the most downhearted traveller feel elated and cherished. The only drawback was that the room allocated to us was enclosed by an adjacent room and brick walls which afforded no view whatever. The Air Conditioning Intake was just outside our window, which meant that it was quite noisy during sleeping hours. Considering how Hot the weather was during our stay, and our room did not have A.C. we could not open the window at night. Having said all that, we would Highly Recommend this Hotel to any of our Friends, and indeed have done so in the past. Pity the The Org. who owns the Hotel dose'nt offer "Regular Guests" discounts on occasions, as we would happily return more often to the area. Best wishes to all the Staff and to the Hotel. Nice little hotel located close to city centre. Staff are extremely friendly, and went above and beyond, such as finding me a fan from one of their offices as it was an exceptionally hot day. Decor of ground floor is nice, and modern, however rooms are a bit dated, and could do with a refurb, but dont let this put you off. The hotel is very clean […] and tidy, and the bed was lovely and comfortable. Parking ample, very good. Breakfast was ok, the sausage I found a bit cheap and nasty but other than that it was pleasant. Free flowing juices and cereals / croissants etc. Checkout extremely efficient. Overall a pleasant stay, and I would use the hotel again, and recommend to others. 더 보기

Let's face it, you're not thinking of going to Wolverhampton for fun. This is a perfectly adequate hotel with spacious, clean rooms and en suite (recently refitted, at least in my case) bathrooms. There is free wi-fi and a good breakfast - give or take the cheap and nasty catering sausages. The swimming pool is somewhat underwhelming, but it is there […] if you want. There are no lifts, and some of the rooms are up a couple of flights of elderly stairs, through various fire doors and along assorted corridors with very aged decoration. Downstairs has been refurbished, and maybe they'll get around to the stairs etc. in time. I thought it represented decent value for the (discounted) price I paid. 더 보기
