My room faced the road so was very noisy with traffic. I was on the 2nd floor and I could here heavy footsteps coming from the floor above late at night as I'm trying to sleep. There were renovations going on early in the mornings. So overall very little rest. Rooms were outdated and hotel overrated. Won't stay there again.

....nothing like the other Standard. Old, no air conditioning, unprofessional staff. Won't be staying there again.

Cool hotel with lovely pool side bar. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Convenient to surrounding areas in LA (provided you have a car). Would stay again in the future!

I have stayed here several times in my visits to LA and this time was the worst time I have ever had there. The room had no separate climate controls in it. If it was cold outside the ENTIRE building was under one thermostat, the rooms had a dial that said "blow: hard / harder." I got to my room one night and the thing was a sauna it was so frigging […] hot in there. Called the front desk and got a very unsympathetic response from the front desk and was told to open my balcony door. I also was solicited by a couple hookers on several different nights that were hanging out in the bar and lobby there. not cool. the place just felt dirty overall. The decor is tired, the rooms are tired and the bed wasn't that comfortable, the room service was WAY over priced for what I got and the addition of food poisoning from one of the meals just put the cherry on top of the cake for me.... Ironically, after I checked out I work needed me there another day and this time I stayed at the Standard downtown and that experience was a complete opposite of my stay on Sunset. I got my room upgraded for free to an ENORMOUS suite, the staff was on point, and the food at their restaurant was SO much better than the other one. if you want the "Standard" experience in LA go to the downtown one vs Sunset. 더 보기

If you like beanbag furniture & loud parties that start at 3am & go to Dawn, stay here, otherwise give it a pass. The staff is pleasant, best thing about hotel is the coffee shop & bar. Rooms are large but no place for toiletries. Towels are thin & hard to come by, Pool is great!

The location was great, the lobby was as expected but once you get to the elevator it gets a little Bates Motel-esque down to the dank smell. We couldn't figure out whether it was an older hotel that was under renovation or whether they were going for a shabby chic aesthetic. I didn't expect the Standard to be quiet but I did expect it to be quiet in our room. The whole room shook when the adjacent guests opened and closed their doors. There were also loud and dusty renovations going on on our floor (2nd) when we arrived and when we left. On the flip side, the breakfast is good and the prIces more reasonable than the Hyatt Century Plaza we stayed in the nights before. The pool area seems fun and features a ping pong table. Overall though, the place was a bit too Twilight Zone for our 30 yr old New York sensibilities. 더 보기

Trendy joint with lots going on in the evenings, especially around the pool. If you don't like the music, the air conditioning ("hard" and "harder" are the settings) will drown it out...

This hotel allowed me to check in at 1 pm on a Friday afternoon. One thing to get used to is that there are no coffee makers in any of their rooms. There is a fully stocked refrigerator, but the costs are not cheap ($16 for a small bottle of cheap wine) The service at the front desk was friendly. I used it all night with the window closed and that made the room pretty quiet even though the room faced Sunset Strip. My main complaints are: The location really isn't that great. The north side of Sunset Strip doesn't really have a lot to see or do. The hotel's bar and restaurant are very small and quiet and I really missed not having any access to coffee inside the hotel. If I could do it over, I would have stayed closer to Hollywood Blvd near the Chinese theater so I could have been within walking distance of many things. 더 보기

The location of the hotel is nice. The walls are very thin though.

I was not very impressed with The Standard in West Hollywood. I have been to the one in NYC several times and this one does not come close. They were renovating the floor I was staying on and my room spelled like paint and there was a sheet and tape all around my door (like I was in a warehouse not a luxury hotel.) When I asked to be moved to another […] room they said all the floors in the hotel looked the same. I recommend doing one floor at a time and keeping the rest of the hotel clean and hazardous free. I walked the area in the evening and was the only one on Sunset so did not feel very safe and nothing was too close. I would not recommend this hotel or area. 더 보기

We stayed here for a bachelor party. It was pretty nice, but not near as nice as the one in Downtown LA. Also, the walls are super thin, so we kept getting in trouble for being too loud. Overall not too bad though.

Trendy boutique hotel. Poolside atmosphere is fun and food is good. Great place to have a drink before going out. The wait staff seemed a little aloof but I think that is just the typical LA "I'm an actor not a waiter" attitude.

I was UNPLEASED with the stay. the photos made the hotel look so nice but its not at all what the photos are like. its overpriced for what it is. There is practically no furniture in the room and the bathroom is unclean and bare. the bed was uncomfortable. the staff was nice but they didn't do very much. the pool area is nice but a lot of young people […] just drinking and tanning, no great entertainment. i wouldn't go back and i wouldn't recommend it. LA has so much to offer and sadly this hotel didn't do anything for our stay. 더 보기

We checked in late on Sunday evening so we didn’t really get experience the “scene” at The Standard. The valet and front desk staff were courteous and efficient. We got to our room within a short amount of time. The room overlooking the strip was quiet and pleasant overall. I did notice that the shower had not been thoroughly cleaned and there was some […] hair in the stall. Complimentary toiletries were good quality. The room was sparsely furnished and a bit musty but the bed was very comfortable. AC unit was a little noisy too. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant the next morning was very good and our waitress was very attentive. Didn't really get to experience the bar or pool area as we were headed off to LAX. Check out was also quick and the staff was polite. Valet gave excellent directions for getting back to airport. I have stayed at the Standard Hotel in Miami before and therefore decided to book this hotel in West Hollywood. The Miami version of the Standard is more like a SPA. The Standard at West Hollywood is a little hotel with a big attitude. As soon as you check in the Hollywood vibe kicks in. There was a party going on at the lobby the first night I even […] had to show my room key to enter the Hotel when I left for dinner. The next day, there was a pool party going on at day time and then another great party at night. If you are looking for a relaxed experience DO NOT book this hotel. My guest was very happy with the hotel. We filmed video for family and the hotel was very accommodating. Right in the heart of the SUNSET STRIP. Kinda artsy and cool...everyone who came to say hello was impressed. Thank you for a fabulous afternoon, evening.

The hotel is cute and trendy. There is a DJ at the front desk and music plays near the pool. Definitely not a place for children. The room was cute but the toilet leaked. The hotel is in a good location near lots of bars and restaurants in west Hollywood.

I was very disappointed. The hotel staff at check-in was rude and unprofessional. Our room was not to the standard synonymous with the hotels reputation. The room was sparse and not well maintained. The toilet and shower had rust marks and the walls in the entire room needed repainting. This hotel was clearly a remodeled Motel 6 or low economy motel […] before The Standard bought it. The amenities did not cover the guest count appropriately, one small bar soap for two guests and a tiny shampoo and body lotion that was old and lost its effectiveness. I stayed only one night before transferring myself to a much nicer hotel about 100 yards up the street. 더 보기

This hotel has a huge personality. Like all things with huge personalities, you either love it or hate it. I LOVED it. I loved so many things about it. Not just the fantastic style. The people who worked there were great. There was always a cool DJ spinning great music in the lobby. The pool was fun. The food was tasty and they didn't price-gouge you […] on it (best deal, by the pool happy hour, $10 for a cocktail and an appetizer). I can't wait to go back there again, sometime. P.S. A tip for you...overnight parking is $30 a day. Google for "Standard promo code" or coupons, and you'll find the coupon I found for free parking. Saved myself a bunch of money with that coupon. I loved my stay at The Standard on Sunset in W. Hollywood. I was a bit worried I would have been dealing with a pretentious staff, but nothing could have been farther from the truth. Everyone I encountered from the hotel staff was super friendly and great to deal with. The room was plenty spacious, hip and modern. We had a room facing Sunset, so it […] was a bit noisy at night but other than that no complaints. The only real reason it was noisy too was that we slept with the balcony doors open because our room was so darn hot. Our fault though, we should have called maintenance up to see what the deal with the air was. Parking is an extra $30 per night, so be prepared for that if you have a car. The bar service at the pool was very slow and poor. We tried to go inside and order our drinks and were told we could not. We had to order them from our waitress. This is not only unprofessional but down right rude. The bartender waited on other customers and left us to stand there or return and wait on our slow slow waitress. Staying at this hotel was like entering a time zone warp into the 70s. It was a cool hotel, i loved the rooftop bar and pool and nighttime scene. Everything was clean, the bed was on the floor and it was psychodelic.

The Standard was clean and in a great location. But, surprised by the level of innuendo throughout the room. (For example: the air conditioner unit on the wall was labeled "blow" with controls at "hard", "harder" and "done". ) They keep a live female model in a display window behind the check-in desk at night. Freaky. That plus the condom van that parks […] outside the hotel makes me want to point out -- this is not a place to stay with your parents, or even a place if you want a romantic getaway. This is my second time staying at this hotel in the last two years. The hotel is a restored nursing home. The hotel character itself is "chic", but the rooms do not even rate anything close. I have literally stayed in better Motel 6 motel rooms! The Standard is a joke to say the least. I recommend the Andaz located across the street. Even the Best Western […] just down the street is nicer then this place. The rooms all smell, terrible bathrooms and water pressure. Most of the rooms have the same bathtubs with a shower head that were in when it was a nursing center. The staff act as if they are doing you a favor to check you into this place. I will absolutely never stay at this hotel again! Do yourself a favor and stay at any other hotel on the strip. This place is located in a great Sunset Strip location. It is near Sweetzer and Sunset Blvd. You can literally walk to all the nice places along the Sunset Strip. There are at least 4 other hotels located on Sunset within a half mile of this location. Being chic is great but being a dump and charging like you are providing a quality product is something else. The place was a dirty, the furnture looked like something out a 60's cheap dorm room. They put sometype of wood covering over the carpets and every time you stepped in your room or your neighbor stepped you heard everything. You are right […] on Sunset Blvd and you hear all of the traffic. Probably because they haven't updated the windows since the 50's or 60's Bathrooms - limited space and very old and cheap. We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and always liked it, however this time was awful. The rooms were fine, but the power went out twice and the TV and other technical things in the room failed to work. There was also two parties at 3:00 - 4:00 AM on both sides of our room with loud music and full ability to heard all conversations. […] When we asked the hotel management to do something about it, nothing was done. Then we asked to be moved and no one ever got back to us. The also paid $120 each for an in-room massage service that the hotel offers and the two "therapists" who showed up gave us the worst, most pathetically bad massages of our lives. The location is great and the food is excellent. However, a couple of things fell short of expectations on this trip. 1: There is no mini fridge in the room. So, you can’t chill anything other than sticking it in the ice bucket. 2: There isn’t anywhere to store your luggage in the room! We had to use the desk to keep our clothing off the floor.

Very cool, perhaps a bit too cool. They have a pretty girl in a glass box behind the receptionist desk working in unergonomic positions on a lap-top. Not sure how much work she gets done, but an interesting distraction nonetheless. In the UK I am sure that the Health & Safety Exec would stop her on the grounds of poor posture, but hey this is LA and […] this is a cool place... My favourite bits about the hotel are: very friendly staff throughout, the nice pool bar with great views over the city and the diner which serves decent food all night and good breakfasts. Worst bits are that the bedroom and bathrrom fitting all feel a bit lightweight and cheap. Would stay there again, but would consider other options as well 더 보기

Hotel was just like any hotel. Room was clean, lobby was nice and modern looking. For the price of the room, i found it a little expensive for what the room had to offer. The hotel use to be an old folks home, and it still looks that way. A strategically placed bean bag, does not a hotel room make. The blanket on the bed was wool. There is no place to put your clothes, no dresser, nothing, a small closet, but not effective. The staff is beyond rude, parking is expensive and unavoidable.
