The room was clean and comfortable. The hallway was noisy, but we were on the end near the stairs. The location was great - it was close to everything and the parking lot was close to the road to the highway. This hotel has not been update to fit the price. The room deco is like Sheraton's of 10 years ago.

My wife and I had a very nice stay. The Hotel is very nice and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Portsmouth is a nice city to visit. We missed the tour season. Next time we'll try for May or later to be able to take in some tours.

great location! Being able to walk into town is awesome!

Centrally located it couldn't be easier to get to any number of destinations. Close to the interstate, Kittery and its outlets are easy to access for a day of shopping. The hotel is easy walking distance to Market St and all that wonderful Portsmouth has to offer in its downtown district. I do regret not upgrading to the club level and wonder if it […] would have made a difference. My room was a but tired and in need of updating. There was no mini-fridge, just a mini-bar an unexpected discovery. I would not hesitate to return as the staff were wonderfully accommodating and friendly. I was surprised that there was no microwave in the room. I was also surprised that there was no hot tub. However, the pool was warm and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable.

Soundproofing between rooms not very good.

The location is great, but when you get into your room and there are dirty cups, dust everyhwere, and you are worried to walk around with no shoes on, it makes you think. I would still stay here again, but know that you are getting a bit less than you are paying for!

With the location and the amazing staff at this hotel, it should be a 5-star hotel, but alas it falls far short! My boyfriend and I stayed here in a King Suite to celebrate our 2 year anniversary hopeing for a romantic gettaway. Unfortunately, it wasn't our weekend. The main lobby had a horrible leak in the ceiling, which quickly became what looked […] like a waterfall. It took maintence quite a long time to come and even look at what the problem was. When we got to our room, we were met with an odor. And found that our linens also smelled of B.O. The bathroom also was not full clean. However, the view was spectacular. What a delight to feel so welcomed at this clean, comfortable hotel. Great location for walking the town. Wonderful service from all. A funky shaped room but comfortable and clean. Would come back to this location again and again.

I love being in walking distance of all of Portsmouth. I have stayed here many times. The staff was courteous at all times and our room was quite comfortable. No reason not to return.

Excellent hotel in a great location. Reception staff were wonderful at check in, room service staff were very polite too, rooms were smallish but adequate with a great view over the river. We had the Club Level which provides breakfast which was bacon & scrambled eggs, toast cereal, pastries etc & juices, coffee etc. It also has complimentary wifi & […] computers & printer in the Club lounge for guests to use. It's well worth paying the extra $20 or so to be on the Club Level. Indoor heated swimming pool was a plus as we took our young granddaughter for a swim. Easy walk, affordable over night parking, clean rooms. We had a great stay. They were even doing work on the hotel and the staff was extra friendly and polite. The rooms are decent sizes and the hallways were relatively quiet. Perfect location. Beautiful room. Comfortable bed. Staff wa awesome. Mapped the whole night out for my girlfriend and I, made some great local recommendations!

This was possibly the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. It was a corner room and was half the size of a normal room, but for the price, it's hard to complain too much. The location is great and the hotel staff helpful and friendly. Underground parking is a plus this time of year.

The room was pretty drab, and the toilet didn't flush properly. Not really what I'd expect from a Sheraton Hotel!

I got married in Portsmouth on Monday October 24th! Our stay at the Sheraton was the icing on the cake. Beautiful room, comfortable bed, cool pictures hanging in the room, friendly staff and great location in town! I would highly recommend this hotel! Thanks!

The hotel seemed old and tired. There were not enough front desk employees, resulting in a lengthy wait for check in. Same situation with valet parking. Requested adjoining rooms ( 2 rooms booked) weeks in advance, and were told that there were too many children checked in, and they took priority over my reservation. The furnishings were a little tired--both chairs worn through. Large flat screen tv though.

The Sheraton Portsmouth was a disappointment. The facility was older than expected with signs of wear and tear. The room was overpriced compared to similar facilities in other cities.

Very close to all the action. Room was a little smaller than I expected for the price, but very nice. VERY comfy bed, did not want to get up! Shower was also very nice.Pool and Sauna area are looking a little dated. Overall a very nice place.

The hotel is in a great location if you are interested in spending time in downtown Portsmouth. The view from most rooms seems to be pretty good with a lot of water view. The hotel is located on the corner facing the water which is great. The hotel is located minutes from the main shopping and eating area. This is very convenient! The Hotel is in a good location and is close to all boutiques, restaurants and pubs. Parking at the hotel costs but is worth it considering that on certain events or special week-ends it is difficult to park in the center core.

I recommend the Sheraton, with one quibble. I know everyone brings their laptop on the road- except me. The internet access at the business center is in the elevator lobby, with everyone passing by you as they come in.
