Many small things were broken. Room did not have a tub. The view was wonderful and the surrounding area was very safe and within many convenient locations such as: restaurants, grocery store, dome/arena and arch.

Your computer was down the whole week-end. And the remote to operate the TV did not work. A guy came up and put a new battery in but still had problems with changing channels and the volume controls did not work. When we took showers the shower curtain was not long enough and water went on the floor everytime.

The stay was wonderful, except for the stain on the comforter.

The location and accessibility of the hotel was great--walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and attractions. The price difference between this hotel and others nearby is significant--and there are reasons. It took two days to get a working telephone in my room; the TV remote didn't work; at one point, the AC was blowing hot air. I dialed 0 for […] all of thes issues and never got an answer. Because there was no faceplate on the phone, I was never sure what or who I was calling. The business center is two computers and a printer/copier--one computer works and I never could get my boarding passes to print. Nice people, cool old hotel, but be prepared. Started off by them not having m reservations that I had booked on hotels.com. The registriaton area looks as if they just rolled out a couple of counters in the lobby. Elevators - three in main lobby, appears only one worked and it was slow at best. Was woken by housekeeping at 8am - I did not have out the do not disturb but 8am seemed a little early […] to me. I was in town for a convention at the hotel across street and the Mayfair was the suggested "overfow" location. I was cheaper and had better qualities like free wifi, 2 flat screens and separate partition between the bedroom that the other hotel did not. My stay at the Roberts Mayfair was very enjoyable. The staff was absolutely fantastic, the location is great especially if your there for a rams game or a cards game. The parking was super pricey however, one day in a parking garage was 16$ and you had to pay that every day. That added up quickly. Great location and staff. Comfort of the hotel was commendable, but lack of fridge and microwave in room was bothersome for leftovers. Recommend based on price and location.

I am not sure what is going on with this hotel, but it might be going out of business. We stayed here a few weeks prior and everything went very well. This trip was different. It was the week before Christmas and we were in town to do some shopping. We were staying two nights. The first morning we left the room to find a plastic bag hung on the door […] with extra towels and toliet paper. It was only 9:45am in the morning, so I was confused as to why housekeeping would have already been to our room. I stopped by the front desk and asked about the bag. The front desk manager told us that they were short handed and that our room was not going to be made up for us unless we requested it. What??! Why do you have to request your room to be made up. It is not our problem as guests that they are short-handed. Of course I want my room made up! He made a big deal out of my request and said that he personally would have to make up our room if that is what we wanted. I don't care who does it, but I wanted someone to make the bed and remove the dirty towels. I don't think that is asking too much. We will not be returning to this hotel. 더 보기

Was a great hotel for the price!

My wife and I just returned from a weekend getaway to St Louis,MO. We chose to stay at the Roberts Mafair and glad we did. The hotel was very nice and clean the rooms are some what modernized but still has that classy antique vibe. We read bad reviews before staying here and we are glad we decided to ignore the bad reviews. We really liked the old feel of the hotel and thought our room was very nice. The location is close to the landing area near the river too.

This place is old and not in a classic nice way but like a needs work kinda old. The location is far from any restaurants.

The staff has poor Customer Services, ruined my experience.

Building and service were great, location was convenient. Only problems were small, TV reception was not great and the walls could have used some paint.

Close to Jones Dome, good Shula's Restaurant, thats it!

We were very satisied with our stay at the Mayfair. The staff was most helpful. Rochell was great to work with she is a asset to the hotel. When I return to STL this is place I will stay

The Robert Mayfair is nice old hotel with comfortable suites, located near the heart of downtown, just a block from the football stadium, a few blocks from Busch Stadium for baseball, and a few blocks from other downtown attractions like the Arch, Old Courthouse, Laclede's Landing, etc. However the hotel -- currently operated by Wyndham -- is clearly […] on the skids. I got my room for half price, on hotels.com. Of the 220+ rooms, only about 20 were occupied. The temperature was about 85 degrees in the first room we checked into and there was no working way to cool it off...not even opening the window helped. The maintenance guy, while nice, went on and on about how horrible the management was and how the workers were not being paid on time. We moved into a second room where the heating/cooling system worked...otherwise we might have left. A large group of rowdy neighbors occupied a room a few doors down and partied in the hall for about 15 minutes on one night. Overall, it was an okay experience....but only because the hotel was right where I wanted it to be and cheap. Watch for this hotel to be sold or go out of business before long....too many new sparkling competitors within a couple blocks. 더 보기

This is a neat historic hotel that appears to be upscale from the outside, but it's managed like a best western. We stayed over thanksgiving weekend and there was only 1 person on staff at any given time, and that person was ill-equipped to handle problems that may arise - and arise they did. The rooms were stifling hot, and the staff could not figure […] out how to turn the system to cool. Two of the 3 times I've stayed here we've had this exact problem, and the girl at the front desk said it's a very common problem. When we checked in, the first room was too small to accommodate the crib we requested. But they didn't have the crib, because the person at the front desk did not have access to the room where the cribs were stored.(they eventually got us one later that night). They moved us to a suite room, which turned out to be dirty and the beds were unmade. So we were moved to a 3rd room, which was uncomfortably hot. Our friends had to change rooms as well because it was about 85 degrees in their room even with the window open and the air system set to 'cool'. There were plenty of small annoyances too. All of the channels on the tv were fuzzy, some so bad that you couldn't tell what was on. The map showed the vending machine being on the 4th floor, but it was actually on the 16th floor. So I had to go to 4 floors and make a phone call in order to get evening snacks. The morning we checked out, there was a false fire alarm, but the guy working the front desk didn't have keys to the IT room to figure out what was going on. The elevators shut off, so we had to carry our baby up 15 flights of stairs to get to our room. Several times we tried to call the front desk throughout the weekend and either got no answer or got a busy signal. I am not sure who's bright idea it was to go off and leave this hotel with only 1 teenager at a time to run it. Though I will say, the young people left in charge were as friendly and as helpful as they could possibly be given the situation. 더 보기

I loved this place in downtown St. Louis. With the rate I got on hotels.com, I couldn't imagine a better stay in downtown. Go to the downtown grocery store for breakfast and get a steak at the restaurant outside the lobby. I had a beautiful king suite--I hope to replicate this trip someday.

I chose this hotel because of it's history and location. Also I just plain love old hotels, however.... The highlight of my stay was the ever smiling, friendly & helpful Frank the doorman. Kind, knowledgeable and always cheery. There was a nasty surprise in my bedside table that had been missed by housekeeping. I won't go into detail except to say […] blood was involved. They did clean it up the next day. The desk clerks were helpful enough but nothing exceptional. The only microwave for customer use was on the 16th floor. No coffee in the lobby, and very difficult at times to raise someone on the phone. A cool old place and well appointed, but needs someone to 1) Train staff in better customer service 2) Double check walls and bathrooms for cleanliness and minor repairs, and 3) just some little accoutrements could easily make this a highly desirable boutique hotel instead of a high priced downtown spot just like all the others. This place seems to have a lot of mixed reviews, and I am not really sure why. For the price, the room was far nicer than I expected, the staff were excellent, the gym was adequate for a full workout, and it could hardly be more convenient if you're planning on being at the Convention Center. Loved the location and charm this historic hotel offers, especially for the value. Yes, some things could use updating, but nothing major. Mainly some of the elements leading to the room. We would stay here again, and recommend to friends & family. However, there are some things to note. Perhaps a small thing, but you best grab your drinks & snacks BEFORE retiring for the evening as the machines are limited and not in locations the signs state (we never found snack machine, just the soda machines). Second thing is parking . The hotel itself does not offer valet service, or even have it's own garage. You are left to use either a public parking garage, another garage that appeared to be for an adjacent hotel, or park on the streets. Garage parking varies, but runs somewhere between $15-20/night. So be sure to factor that into the equation. If on the weekend, you can street park for free (assuming you can find a space). 더 보기

Stayed there for WS Game 7. Nothing special, parking was a problem - had to park in a garage down the street. Located near Busch Stadium and was cheap. Overall, not bad if you're not picky.

Was in town for Games 6 and 7 of the WS and stayed at the Roberts Mayfair. Hotel is in great location for stadium and is a block or two away from a number of restaurants and bars on Washington Ave.

Though the location is great and Shula's restaurant was nice, the overall experience we had wasn't. Our room was very small and our view was a brick building with trash dumpsters. You could hear everything going on in the halls and the rooms next door. Our room wasn't cleaned on the second day as we requested, only our bed was made with the same sheets […] and getting extra towels wasn't pleasant. We tried to have water and pops delivered and were told the vending machine was on floor 10. For what we paid for this hotel a night, I expected much more than what we got. Next time, I will pay the extra money and stay at any of the others nearby where we at least get a free donut! 더 보기

We booked this hotel for the world series. When our game was postponed due to weather, the staff was very accomodating and changed our reservation with no problems. When we checked into our room, I was shocked at how nice it was for the price! We had a 2 room king suite that was recently renovated. I could not of dreamt of a more rude, annoying and inconsiderate staff. Seriously sucked

They do not have the capability to print out tickets from StubHub in their business center, and service was a little lacking, but otherwise it was fine.
