Overall we had a great stay here and would use Candlewood Suites again. The only complaint about the room is that I could not find an exhaust fan in the bathroom and it was needed. I had to open the bathroom door to let out the steam from the shower.

Pros: We were politely greeted and checked in promptly, on the evening of 8-19-11. The no smoking room was adequate and clean, Internet connection worked fine. Cons: Our no smoking room was on the second floor; to get to it we had to go through a hallway that reeked of smoke. While our room was clear, the hallway was horrible. Figured I could just […] ignore it for the night as we were very tired from a long day driving. We went out for a quick bite, and when we returned about 11:30 PM there were about seven or eight guys squatting down in the shadows, to the side from the entrance; not a comfortable feeling. We again went through the smoky hallway to our room and settled down for the night. Within fifteen minutes or so we heard a lot of heavy walking around in the rooms over our head. Much "clunking", occasional "clinking",Trying to ignore this noise I also realized that cigarette smoke was coming into our room. Apparently, the smoke was being pulled in by the AC wall unit in our room. The door had large gaps all around that allowed the smoke in, so I finally stuffed towels under the door to stop some of the smoke from getting in. Bottom line; do not patronize this low quality hotel with high dollar rates. 더 보기

My girl and I came for the Des Moines arts Festival (late June 2011) The hotel is lobby, laundry and gym is small, yet clean and efficiant. The room themselves were on the cozy side, yet everything else was impressive. Very clean, new, and top notch. Your room even has a glass Pyrex measuring cup, dishes, Proffesional grade microwave, and a full size […] fridge with ice maker. The icemaker if you dont turn it off, will startle you in the middle of the night. The bed was great, soft and comfy. Good TV with sufficient cable chanels. The shower was fine with easy controls and never running low on hotwater, though my girl didnt care for the hotel shampoo (your girl may be different). The staff was fine and knowlegable. Your only a mile or so from this huge mall, and close to a couple restaurants, highways, and mini mart gas stations, and 10-15 minutes from downtown I would easily stay at the Candlewood again. Stayed here several times for car show in Des Moines close to everything we needed good eating places, minutes away to jump on interstate for easy driving to different places in Des Moines, plenty close to several grocery stores & to a major shopping center.

This hotel was everything it was billed to be, which isn't always the case, especially with rooms that are billed to be "suites". Very clean, very convenient location, good staff, and wonderful amenities, especially considering the relatively low price of the room compared to other hotels in the same geographic area. A very big room, full refrigerator, […] a grill outside, a stove inside (with cookware and plates), a dishwasher, windows that open (which is wonderful on a nice spring day) and an surprisingly speedy internet connection in the room. I was able to both work and relax without being inconvenienced in any way. If I'm ever in an area with this hotel, I will definitely be booking here again. 더 보기

I will stay there again It is a great place to stay the customer service was great and check out is better then most hotel's the place was like being at home it was great, will be staying there again only thing wish they would of had a hot tube and pool.

the people were extremely helpful! movie rentals were really convient! i had a situation come up with a taxi and the hotel desk clerk was on it immediately finding me another cab (should have had them book it in the first place) even talked to me the whole time and when it didn't show up at the the ten min mark was already on the phone. helped with […] my bags and all the staff was very helpful from food suggestions to cab orders to towels every step of the way they were there to make my stay as comfortable as possible! will def. stay again. :) also convient location near the mall! 더 보기

the manager at check in time was very nice and helpful. the room was very clean and comfortable. overall i was very happy with the service and the room

We needed a single pet-friendly room, and a regular room for a quick weekend in DSM. The hotel was walking distance to Jordan Creek mall and right off I-80. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll stay again.
