A few disappoints with the Courtyard by Marriott-Gaslamp. 1. The bathroom sink was clogged so very slow to drain. We understood it is an older building. 2. Parking for rental car was an issue and Hotels.com should indicate the parking situation with higher importance for each hotel. 3. Would suggest staying away from downtown if you are driving.

I don't even know where to begin! When I arrived at the hotel, it took less than 3 minutes to check in. I walked back out to my car and the Bell Man helped me and my cousin with our bags and even have us his card to contact him for free entry into Ivy Nightclub at Andaz Hotel. Alexandra at the front desk called my room 10 minutes after arriving to ensure […] that my room was to my standards and if I needed anything to contact her at the front desk. Even calling for room service and receiving it was great too. They called me by my last name and addressed me with courtesy and pleasure. Our stay was wonderful. This is a beautiful hotel with gorgeous architecture and really cute modern rooms. Everything is within walking distance with all the restaurants on 5th ave. overall a great trip, however the cost of valet is what knocked this score to a 4 rather than a 5, $36 for valet! Great location within walking distance of most Downtown and Gaslamp areas. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Didn't actually eat or drink at the hotel because of the wide choice of alternatives in the area. Airport bus stops just outside the hotel.

Both my cousin and stayed during Memorial Day weekend and we both enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The modern design of the hotel and the room made us feel very comfortable and it was very relaxing. And since we were in the gas lamp area, we had everything close to us including restaurants and bars.

Amazing location, beautiful hotel, friendly staff. I brought my girlfriend here and we loved everything about this place. You can walk everywhere in the Gaslamp district. The hotel is a piece of history and a piece of art. They did a nice job restoring the old bank. The lobby looks stunning. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only thing is that it is a downtown hotel. It was not a big problem for us on the fourth floor, I believe that it is better on upper floors. They have blackout curtains. The view is great. They have a ramp to go to elevators. If you are planning a trip to San Diego and want to be in the Gaslamp District...this is right on the edge but very accessible walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants the ballpark and Seaport Village. This hotel is beautiful and grand..not at all like a Courtyard normally is..it is truly a step or two above that description. Awesome location! Rooms are small but very nice. $36 a day to park is a little much but then again you can't just park anywhere downtown. Waited 15-30 minutes everyday to get car from valet.

recently updated. stayed there before while undergoing the renovations. very friendly staff who are more than accommodating. Historical building and they are happy to show you around! Will always stay there if the price is right!

Clean, beautiful, and you should be very proud of your employees! They are friendly, helpful and treated us like family. They made our stay special. There were 8 of us and we stayed 2 nights. We felt right at home. Unfortunately, they couldn't help the Giants. They lost ALL 3 games!!!

My husband and I spent a recent weekend at this hotel and had a very nice stay. The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. Our room was a little on the small side, however, it worked fine and we were happy with our stay. Bed was comfortable and we had only one little mishap when the maid forgot to clean our room. Beautiful hotel, walking distance from everything. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We go to San Diego and always stay by Seaport Village, but we had such a great experience here I would definitely stay here again!

I was really surprised by how nice and modern this hotel was. It's an old bank which gives it a vintage vibe but the rooms are very well designed. The staff was incredibly helpful as well. My only complaint would be that valet parking for one night was a little too expensive. Other than that, it was great!

This hotel has been recently renovated and the rooms were spacious and upscale. What was particularly unique about it was that the building itself is an historic old structure with character while the inside was hip and modern. The staff was also very helpful, accommodating and enthusiastic.

The hotel is nice and in a decent area. There is food easily accessible, and all the clubs are down street, but they have valet and it is super expensive way more than a parking lot in LA, a night per car that is NOT included in the price or in your "amenities" that they charge you on top of the hotel rate.

Upon arriving at the Marriott San Diego we both were very impressed with the building. The location has tons of character and the vault room is pretty impressive. This is now one of our favorite locations i San Diego, we will be back to stay here again.

Very nice hotel. A renovated bank. Beautiful conversion to hotel. Only Valet parking, but there are nearby lots with in-and-out privileges. We had some billing problems, but the 3 staff members in front were able to solve it as a team. Very good service from valet, bellman, and housekeeping.

I had the best experience ever at a hotel! The quality of the rooms, the historic appeal of the "Living History" museum and the service was outstanding. We stayed in a newly renovated room. It was beautiful, comfortable, and had a great layout. The bedding and bed were very comfortable. My borother and his girlfriend also stayed in the same hotel. Their room hadnt been renovated recently. The sheets were rough, the bed was uncomfortable, it looked like the 1970's threw up in there. In addition to all […] of that, my brothers gf got STUCK in the bathroom because the sliding door got jammed with loose molding around the door frame. This hotel was very nicely decorated with a beautiful lobby and sleek modern rooms. The only isse we had when we first arrived was trying to find the check in counter! Due to some construction occurring in the lobby the check in counter was in the back through a door where the elevators were so it was difficult for us to find. Hotel staff was superb! Always making sure you were taken care of and happy at all times. Love the new Starbucks now located inside the lobby. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone choosing to come to San Diego and take in the Gaslamp Quarter of downtown.
