This hotel had a good location just a few blocks from the Millenium station. It was very clean. A few negatives were 1. no free breakfast, 2. Hot tube wasn't hot and jets were wimpy. 3. Price was way too much for what was received.

Stayed there two nights while shopping and wandering around chicago. Excellent location midway between Water Tower and the Loop. Good restaurants in area, easy walking distance to everything. I've stayed twice at this hotel this year, always looking for a bargain and have found it here on two occasions. Will remain one of my first choices.

The hotel was nicely appointed, well staffed, clean and bright. It was just two blocks from Michigan Ave. and the busses and right at the subway station for easy transport access, and near to many restaurants and shops. Right across the street from Jewel Store (handy for groceries). Our trip plans changed so instead of four of us (two adults & two children) it was just us (two adults), and the staff kindly changed our room from a two queen room to a king room - really enjoyed it. Whole experience was just great.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a nice hotel in a great location. The location to the mile and a variety of stores and eateries are what makes your stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the amenities are good. Weber Grill never dissappoints. The attached parking garage is a pleasant bonus in this neighborhood. I travel to Chicago often and stay in River North nearly everytime I'm there. I don't know if this hotel will be a top choice on future visits, but I will certainly consider it if the price is right.

Everyone at the hotel was wonderful - great valet parking staff, great hosts at the registration desk. Great location - close to tons of great restaurants and other sights. Highly recommended!!

Great Hotel for the price. Gym was small but equipment was good. Staff was pleasant. Rooms with two beds are too small to have a cot if you are travelling with 3 people and want separate beds.

Hotel condition was great. Location was great.... $38.00 a day for parking was not good, but it is standard for the area. My only issue was, I chose this hotel because it advertised 2 queen beds. When we checked in, it became apparent that the beds were really not queen size beds. They were double/queen; at least that's what the hotel staff informed me they were.

They double booked our room, so we were actually upgraded for free... which was fine with us! The location is within walking distance of just about everything, from downtown to Navy Pier. The staff was nice, and the valet parking was cheap for Chicago. All in all, we would recommend this hotel whole heartedly.

When checking in the staff was extremely helpful and very nice. Any other time anything was needed by the front desk they were friendly however were overwhelmed. There was not enough staff to accomidate everyone which resulted in waiting quite some time for assistance. The number one problem was the elevators. They would take 10-25 minutes to reach you and we were continuously told that a maintenance person was working on it, but we found it hard to believe someone was there for 4 full days and the problem was not fixed. We had requested a non-smoking room but that request was not fulfilled. Also the piece in the bathroom that changes the water from tub to shower was broken and very sharp. The staff was notified and hopefully will be taken care of. The location is great and the staff is extremely helpful and very nice and professional. As long as they fixed the elevators, I would stay there again.

Great for shopping at the Mag Mile in Chicago. Not too far from Navy Pier, but there are hotels near Millenium Park that may have just as good rates. My room was really humid. and I thought my room would be bigger (but it was just a place to sleep). Also, thought the pool would be bigger, but again, I didn't go to Chicago to swim in a pool. Plus the beach is right near by. The staff was the best staff I have ever had at a hotel. They know where stuff is, they are very, very gracious and friendly, and I really enjoyed their hospitality. Ask them for a list of breakfast and lunch places!

nice hotel but becouse the room didnt have 2 bed it made it real trouble some .there excuse was well u booked it threw hotels .com

We recieved excellent customer service in every interaction we had with the staff. They were always on hand to help us with directions, and we were always given a friendly hello in the lobby, as though the staff knew us, even though we were probably among hundreds of hotel guests. However, one employee took especially good care of us. Unfortunately the second day of our trip, my daughter became so ill that we couldn't leave the hotel. I called the desk to see if I could order Chicken Noodle Soup through room service, but when I found out that wasn't available the attendant helped me find some items in the hotel's Pavillion Pantry so I could take care of my daughter without having to leave the hotel. We were taken care of like family by the staff and truly grateful for the hospitality.

The room was clean. Elevator wait time was terrible. Slow elevators and not enough. Great area though. Would recommend for the area.

It's Chicago after all and you're bound to have left over pizza! I loved that this hotel featured mini fridges and microwaves in each room. Hotels we've paid more for in the area don't provide those nice little in-room amenities. Also, the hotel is attached to Weber Grill which not only smells wonderful outside, the food is fantastic. Hotels.com lists this hotel at a 3 star, but I'd give it at least 4.

Location, location, location. Couldn't ask for a better home base from which to explore Chicago. Walking distance to many great areas. Just around the corner from the birthplace of deep dish pizza, Uno's. The El's Red Line is literally about 20 feet from the hotel entrance. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. Only negative is cost of parking, but it's worth the location.

The Hotel is in a prime spot for close proximity to dining and shopping. It is also only a few feet away from the Red Line. The beds in the hotel room were incredibly comfortable. The pool, hot tub, and fitness facility were small, and at times felt crowded, but were open early and closed late - so there were opportunities to find less busy times. This isn't really a complaint, but more of a weird instance was that it's located above the Weber Grill restaurant and all you could smell for the first 15 minutes in your room was grill smoke. Not that it's a bad smell, it just took some time getting used to. I would absolutely stay here again.

The location was great. The hotel was within walking distance of all the shops on Michigan Avenue and right off the Red Line on the CTA. We purchased a three-day pass and from there, we could go anywhere. Also, it was a quick ride up the Red Line to Wrigley Field for the Cubs game, which was first on our agenda!

Our experience at the Hilton Garden Inn was wonderful from the second we stepped into the door until we left. The hotel staff was absolutely amazing. We got to check into our room 4 HOURS early, and the front desk staff was happy to assist us in any way, including giving us directions multiple times and making suggestions for places to go. We were greeted every time we entered the hotel by multiple smiling staff members. After checkout, the staff was more than happy to let us keep our bags there until we left the city later that afternoon. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel and fully intend to stay there again next time I'm in Chicago.

Terrible experience as first I was placed in an a joining room where next door a party was going on at 6:00 pm. By 7:00 I requested a room change and was moved down the hall to another a joining room where, guess what? An even bigger party was going on...people singing "Don't stop believing" at the top of their lungs. Next change request was met with some attitude from associates at the front desk, but I finally ended up on another floor in a lesser room. Al in all AVOID this hotel

The Hilton Garden Inn was a GREAT Place to stay in Downtown Chicago! Great location and the Staff were AMAZING! Beautiful room and very CLEAN!

We arrived on a Thursday night, and went to check-in. We were told that there were no more rooms available, even though we had a reservation.They said we would have to take a smoking room. When I signed up for the room I asked for non smoking room with a king bed. I got a smoking room with two queen beds. The next morning we went to make coffee and all that they had was decaf. My friend went down to the check in to ask about getting coffee and was told all they had were decaf packets at the desk. We then decided to skip the coffee and go and use the hot tub and pool. Something we were looking forward to. We make our way down there to find the maintenance man putting chemicals in the pool and the hot tub with no water. Thank goodness this was a one night stay. The hotel never bothered to apologize for any of this. We won't be back.

The single complaint I have is that we were in a NON-SMOKING room (and I called down to make certain of that) and it smelled of smoke - not horrible but definitely noticeable and it did not dissipate even though we opened the window. There was an ashtray in the room which was confusing. It was just enough odor to annoy but not enough that we complained there. In retrospect we probably should have but it being late & us being tired, it was dissappointing not to have an otherwise very nice room be perfect.

Parking is convenient, but very expensive. Guests should be offered a discount.

The only objection I had was that they took money out of my credit/debit card for "amenities" which I didn't use and had no attention of using and when I checked out did not credit my card immediately. I'm not saying they won't but it's been almost a week and it's not in.(I also stayed at another hotel during the same trip in Chicago and they gave me CASH for the amount at check out.) Otherwise: The hotel was well located, close to the famous "Magnificent Mile" and right by the subway stop for the red line. There was some construction going on and there were "cones" right in front of the entrance - made it hard for taxi pickups. I liked that their Business Center's computers were free to use, some other places charge. Rooms had microwaves and refrigerators along with the usual coffee pot and hair dryer, which is very convenient. Dr. S. Escobar

Front desk personnel were extremely helpful and welcoming. Good location, except for some construction outside.

The location of the hotel was great, close to everything. It was morning and it looked as though no one had cleaned up the pool area or stocked the towels from the night before. Otherwise the stay was Great especially for the online deal we got.

This hotel had a great location for shopping on the Magnificent Mile and for the El also. Was great they handed us a list of places to eat close by also !

Close to Mag. Mile (few blocks up Grand then up the stairs to Mag. Mile). Clean comfortable room, frig and microwave nice to have. Friendly, helpful staff. Be prepared to pay for parking.

I would like to take a minute to thank Michael for his attention to a situation we had. He had introduced himslef to my husband and told him whatever he needed just ask for him. A situation arose and we "grabbed" Michael and he took care of it without us ever having to deal with anything from it. He was My HERO! (I had 2 young female adults in the room at the time). We would recommend this HGI to any of our family members or friends. The location was great and we loved our room! We will return! Thanks for the great expierence.
