호텔 롤라 (Hotel LOLA) - 뉴욕

매일 아침 코리아타운에 가서 밥 먹기에 아주 가까운 거리에 위치하고 있어서 예약을 했습니다. 호텔로비는 정말 럭셔리하고 안락한 분위기였구요. 근데 방 싸이즈는 너무 작았습니다. 여행 가방을 오픈 해 놓기도 만만치 않은 여유 공간.. 하지만 침대가 너무 안락해서 잠자기에는 좋았습니다.

They sold the room with broken air conditioning. It was a terrible experience. For the request to change the room, answer was that there was no room vacant.

호텔 관리직원도 스스로 인정하더군요.. 자기들의 문제가 요즘 많다고 말이지요... 뉴욕에 처음 가는 것이고 환율이 떨어지길래 미리 거의 한달 전에 예약을 하고 갔습니다. 문제점1. 퀸1 룸을 예약했는데 싱글베드하나에 엑스트라베드 주고 미안하다고 하더군요...오늘만 그렇게 묵고 남은 3일은 정상적인 방으로 옮겨 주겠다고 했습니다.뭐라고 짧은 영어실력으로 컴플레인을 했더니 아침 식사권4장 주더라구요...피곤하고 영어도 안되서 그냥 올라왔습니다. 문제점2. 그렇게 올라간 방에 히터가 안되더군요.. 그래서 고치지도 못하고 보조 난로를 가져다 주었네요.. 문제점3. 다음날 방을 옮겨 주었습니다. 바로 히터부터 확인했지요...안되더군요...기술자 […] 3명이 와서 거의 한시간을 낑낑거리더니 작동 되더라구요...휙 나가면서 미안하다는 말도 없이..참..뉴욕에 대한 이미지 완전 구겨지는 하루더군요.. 문제점 4. 방에 핸드폰이 안되요...창문에 딱 붙어서 통화해야하는 상황입니다...원인은 모르겠어요. 문제점 5. 방문을 여는 카드키가 안되서 프론트에 내려가 안된다고 하자 뭔가 다시 입력하더니 될거라고 하더군요..기대는 안했습니다. 역시 안되더라구요. 내려가서 짧은 영어로 한마디 했습니다. " if I speak english well, this hotel and you get big terrble !! " 그랬더니 여자 관리자하나가 따라 올라오더군요.. 문 열어주고 쏴리~ 한미디 하고 가네요...길 지나가다 가 부딪혔을때보다 10배는 작게 말이지요... 더 보기

And awesome bar & bartenders

The hotel is so chic and sexy and gives you the perfect feeling for a NYC getaway weekend. It wasn't right in the middle of tourist areas but perfectly situated centrally, close to subway so we could get anywhere easily. Loved that there were affordable restaurants nearby along with higher end choices if we wanted it. Definitely go!

We enjoyed our stay at LOLA and the renovation is quite nice, but they need to work a bit on room maintenance. Mold in the shower and a bathroom door that would not lock or even stay closed were problems. Amenities were not replaced during our stay and our laptops would not fit into the safe! Drinks in the bar were wildly overpriced, but the lounge/lobby […] area is quite comfortable. Nice hotel with trendy feel to the lobby area. Queen rooms are quite small even for New York. King rooms are very nice.

Hotel was very trendy. Hotel staff was extremely nice and helpful. Complimentary drinks at the bar upon arrival and extended ur check out until 1:00 for free.

Nice boutique hotel design (lighting very well done), high quality for the price, good location close to everything but off track a bit so not crazy nyc hectic. Definitely will go back again if need to stay again...

Just me in the city for one night on business. Perfect for that, though I thought the Internet access charge a bit high. Used my smart phone instead. Rooms smallish even for this type of place, but comfy and quiet. Sleek lobby and bar area. Outside construction hampers overall look, but assume that's temporary.

I was pleased to find a good deal on a hotel close to my office. I was much more surprised to find the room nicer than I had been led to believe I was getting. As my review title said LOLA over-delivered and I would go back again any time I need a NYC hotel!

Very stylish hotel with reasonable prices. Staff is very kind and helpfull and the bartenders are the best and friendliest you ever met.

I was very surprised by the luxury of this Hotel, considering the great price.In Manhattan no less.! Very nice lobby, two entrances that were great. Would definitely stay again .

The room was very clean and modern - loved the bathroom with the tub area converted to a large shower. The only thing that would have made this a perfect stay was that there wasnt a clock in the room....good thing I have a cell phone with an alarm feature on it!

This hotel is overpriced and a sham. There is no wireless internet connection available unless you pay 20 dollars a day, which is ridiculous. The rooms are incredibly tiny and the bathrooms leave much to be desired. There are no curtains in the rooms and instead they have cheap blinds that do not go down all the way. Good design, but not really practial. No place to hang off jackets etc, very small room.

The Bad (or not so good): Standard queen rooms they assign from hotels.com are going to be very small. Bathroom is tiny and no leg room to actually sit on the toilet. Weird configuration to be honest. They also charge you for WiFi and its $13 so that hurts a bit. The room was also dusty and not cleaned very well (e.g., duvet under sheets was dirty). The […] Good (and it's quite good): Great TV with lots of HD channels. The WiFi is fast. Shower is good. Rooms are quiet. Staff are friendly. Great location. Great price (if you score a good deal). Beautiful lobby (if you like that sort of thing). Rooms are renovated so they look fresh and modern. In room safe is large enough for PC. I would book again but really try to talk them into a slightly larger room at check-in. 더 보기

This was a trendy boutique hotel with a great atmpsphere I would stay here again.

I loby was too dark and hotel seems to be tucked in a alley. It's renovated but the room is toooo small. The bed was very comfy! The ac/heater adjuster in the room was broken so we were freezing the whole time. The bathroom is very modern but no counter space at alllll! The location was very convinient.

Fine for business travel. Nice bar in lobby. Rooms are tiny but hey it is Manhattan. Hallways smelled a bit smokey.

I visit New York several times a year and have stayed at hotels on every level of the ladder, from the comfortable to the nightmarish. Lola may be the nicest, cleanest, most elegant place I've stayed in the city. The hotel itself is so elegant that just walking through the lobby makes one feel like they're on the A list. The staff are helpful and friendly, […] the elevators quick and efficient, the halls clean and quiet and the rooms as comfortable as they are beautiful...the shower was positively a work of art! My personal favorite touch was the "do not disturb" signs...one of which I simply couldn't help swiping as a souvenir! The first room we were put into was so tiny, you couldn't turn around without hitting something. When we entered the room, the door was not a regulation size door and my husband had to walk in side ways. Make sure when you go to the bathroom, you are not in the way of the door as you will get hit. It barely misses the opposite wall. NOT impressed. They spent all their money in the lobby. Rooms are standard NY tiny but mostly clean. Floor smells like smoke. I called downstairs to inquiry and the A/C, which didn't seem to be working. They sent up an "engineer." I'm guessing more so the bell hop. Great hotel in a great area! QUIET, QUIET, QUIET - no street noise in my room. The hotel was clean, comfortable and close to everything I was in the area for. Nice rooms and the staff was friendly!

Loved it...great location, quiet neighborhood. Liked the fact that after certain hours they ask you for key card in order to let you take elevator...therefore safety is a PLUS!!!

Its a good Hotel, staff is very hospitable everyone I met during my stay there. Its very well operated. Only grief for me was, I was surprised the room was like a cell, too small, i felt claustrophobic. Its great Hotel. for business or pleasure very inviting and warm. .

The hotel was very posh/chic and the hotel staff was amiable. My room wasn’t ready at the time stated by the receptionist, but she upgraded me to a larger room as a concession! The only issues with my room was the sink was clogged – but they rectified this immediately. And lastly, someone was smoking on my floor and it infiltrated my room! these are the 2 pros. but be prepared to lug your own luggage up the steps and hail your own cabs.... there is no doorman or service until you reach the front desk.

The bathroom in rm 435 is brand new and in great condition, but there was no countertop or cabinet on which to put toiletries etc. It looks like it was designed as a handicap accessible bath so that may be part of the reason. First time staying here. Beautiful, intimate lobby with nice but small bar. We checked in late, and were upgraded to a "suite." I cannot imagine how small the original room must have been. This had a King sized bed, and a roll away. It was small by NY standards, but the bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet.

Knowledgeable staff; very helpful. Typically sized (i.e., TINY) NYC hotel room, but barely spent any time there, anyway. Shower was terrific, though. A loud argument spilled out from the pub next door one night, but that certainly can't be blamed on the hotel.

Average hotel in a good location. Although much attention has been paid to the entrance lobby the recent upgrading of decor in the rooms has been done to a very poor standard. That said we had no other complaints, the location is great and cleanliness was too a good standard.
