I have stayed in many hotels and this one did not rate well with me. I was attracted to this hotel online due to ratings and other comments. I liked the courtesy shuttle that took me to airport and picked me up. Didn't have to bother with airport parking. A few disappointing aspects: water temperature in bathtub took awhile to get lukewarm and not hot […] (I talked to management and they were going to look into it); deluxe breakfast is overrated compared to other stays I've had. If you wanted hot breakfast, it cost extra; the wallpaper had stains & rips. Pool is outdoors. Would not recommend for young children. Overall, average stay if you don't mind minor inconveniences and average accommodations. 더 보기

Very close the DTW but I was not to impressed with the facilities especially the bed. I could feel what felt like springs on the bed.

My flight came in at 9:30 PM, but by the time the shuttle for the hotel picked me up at the airport and got me there it was almost 11 PM. The front desk staff was rushed and unhappy looking as there were quite a few people with vouchers from the airlines trying to check in for a night. I had a reservation and was a Choice member but did not get any […] better treatment. The worst part about this hotel was that there were NO elevators! When I asked for help to take all of my luggage up the stairs the desk staff told me that there really was no one to help. I wound up asking the other front desk person ( a male), and he helped me and an older woman get our bags up the stairs. The room was older and though the bed was made up to look like it was one of the newer soft heavenly beds it was just an old hotel bed with the pillows arranged differently. I would not stay at this Clarion again. It needs updating and the staff and elevator issue a real problem. 더 보기

Great rate, very clean,suprisingly quiet since it is near airport. Easy to locate. Great place to stay if you need to be close to DTW. I would stay again. Very clean.

No elevator made it difficult to take luggage to my room on the 2nd floor.

Shuttle can get busy just be there early. Breakfast doesn't start unitl 7 ish so you will have to wait for the airport if you have any earlier flight. Great for park and fly reasonable price.

This was not as bad as stated on the comments - it is a nice hotel - needs updating - but very good value for the price. I stayed there on a business trip and had no issues what so ever. I will stay there again.

The property is old and tired and the staff were very indifferent. The lobby looks like a funeral home. They were not welcoming or friendly, just efficient and didn't seem interested in whether or not they were projecting a positive attitude. Convienent to airport parking company. Easy to find. Clean and comfy!

I stayed here for 1 night to catch a flight the next morning. Mattresses were old and although I did a routine, very thorough examination the night before, I woke up with bites all up and down my arms and legs...BEDBUGS Hotel staff said they would take care of it for the next guest, but if it's you, I hope you pay the extra $10 and stay across the […] street. 더 보기

I was told when making the reservation that we could leave our car there and take the shuttle but was never told about the fee to do that until we were about to get on the shuttle

Water main had broken and they were unable to get me a room at another hotel. Cold showers was just that, COLD. Restaurant service was poor in the evening. Beware - the complimentary breakfast (cold except for the waffles) sits right along side the pay breakfast (hot).

When I arrived guest services were very efficient and courteous. Room was quite and pleasant, purchased gas for the rental car next door. The trip to the rental return was very close, instructions were spot on from guest services. Rates were better that others, I would stay there again.

I stayed here for 2 nights this past weekend and the hotel seemed good. Check in as well as out was very simple, and the staff we encountered were very nice.The beds were HORRIBLE though, and very uncomfortable, as well the walls being very thin. Extremely uncomfortable I could feel every spring in my back, legs, arms everywhere. They had teens there running up and down the hall and yelling. Not really nice at the front desk. Could hear the planes taking off.Pretty much when I got home I spent my time catching up on the sleep I didn't get there.

On Wednesday night we encountered a problem at the Clarion which needs to be brought to the attention of anyone concerned with the safety and well-being of guests at the Clarion. I had brought my 98 year old mother back to the hotel early from dinner as she was exhausted from my brother’s funeral and wanted to get some sleep. My room was next door to […] hers and I got her settled and ate my dinner in her room. She insisted I go back to dinner with the others, that she would be ok. I went next door to my room, and checked in on her every 30 – 45 minutes. At about 11 pm, my daughter, niece and brother returned to check on “Granny”. They had had to get their door keys re-programmed as they didn’t work when they got back. I was in my room at the time and heard them in the hall so went out to see what was happening. None of our cards would open the door. The little light would turn green, but the door would not open. I went to the front desk and explained that my 98 year old mother was in the room and we had just been to my brother’s funeral and we were concerned since we could not open the door. I told them that the light turned green and the door would not unlock. They came down with the “master” key and on the way she asked me if I was sure I was trying the right room. I guess she had to ask that. She tried her key for about 5 minutes with no luck. During that time we asked if there was a maintenance person that could get in, and she said he live 1 ½ hours away and would not be in till the next day. She also indicated that there was no way the maintenance person could open the door even if he did come. We asked if we needed to call 911, as this seemed to be a rather dangerous situation if you cannot get into a room in an emergency. She said they would try going in through the window from the outside. After 5 minutes I went outside to watch, and after another 5 or 10 minutes I again suggested that I call 911. Then my niece finally got her card to work and came over to the 더 보기

Overall appearance is a bit dingy; could use updating. Two story WALK UP! NO ELEVATOR!! I only stayed one night to be near a meeting.

Stayed there 2 nights over weekend. Had some type of bugs or fleas in my room. They did nothing first night due to full house,however parking lot was not even close to full. They gave me another room next morning which was fine.Also had bathtub that did not hold water until I fixed drain

Our flight was leaving at 0600 so we had to rise early to catch the shuttle bus to the airport. Shuttle runs on the half hour and was efficient. Complementary breakfast starts at 0530, so we missed that, but got a free cup of coffee before leaving the hotel. Only 5 min. from DTW and would gladly stay again.

I loved my stay at the hotel. Everyone was nice and the location was great everything I needed was right around the hotel. My next trip to Detroit I'll be staying there

Hotel is nice. Employees are very helpful. Rooms (carpet) are a little dirty and unfinished repairs give the impression that it is a little unkept. Overall good hotel. free Shuttle service, internet, and breakfast are a great added bonus. Great value for the price.

I only had to stay one night and it was worth the cost. The hotel was quiet even though it is right next to the airport. The breakfast and restuarant/bar is great to have right there. So convenient. Hotel is basic but has what you need. Would stay there again.

Hotel clean and attractive lobby,rooms very clean other than problem with ants that was reported but took 48 hours before taken care of by moving to another room, lots of amenities, initial problem checking in inconvenience waiting over an hour to get a room that was prepaid months in advance and requested room type unavailable until next day and only […] after second request. Didn't get into room until 2AM! Had called night before been assured room ready. Older hotel needs ventilation in bathroom but did love extra space! 더 보기

the only reason we were at the hotel was because we needed to catch an early flight. at check in they offered a wake-up call which I set up. later I tried to call the front to desk, only to find a dead phone. went at midnight to complain in my p.j's (everything packed) and girl insisted the phone worked even while my family was in the room and it never […] rang. refused to give me another phone, and told me good luck with the radio/alarm, they would NOT knock on my door. fitful worried night, little sleep. other than that, everything okay. 더 보기

The Hotel has a shuttle that picks you up from the Detroit Metro Airport, which was very convenient. We were there in the middle of July, so the weather was sweltering. We checked in, no problems, no surprises. When we got to the room, it was nice, cool, and clean. Once again, no surprises. The biggest complaint would be the comfort of the beds. This Clarion Hotel is dirty and dated. My room had a burn mark from a dropped iron. A new ac/furnace unit under window, but the old unit still in room (my guess is not removed so less renovation needed to repair walls, Paint/wallpaper ripping marks high and low. No air conditioning in lobby, bar ,restaurant I felt sorry for the hotel workers melting, running around sweating. The ice machine was down on my side of the building, dry as a bone looks to me like it has been that way for a while. In our room the carpets had just been cleaned and were still wet, the room smelt like a chEmical cleaning solution try […] sleeping in that room with no windows to open and the air conditioner recirculating that air. The corridors carpets were wet also so much that the carpets were wrinkled and buckling that I tripped several times on the way to my room. No elevator so if your on the 2nd floor you have to carry all your heavy bags up 2 flights of stair casing .would not recommend or ever stay there again. 더 보기

Great location, rates, service. This is a well-kept hotel immediately across from Detroit Metro Airport. Restaurant on property + immediate access to others close by.
