the onlt thing i didn't like was being charged .50 cent for every local calls.

"Courtyard Marriott by downtown"
The air conditioning in our room was horrible as the humidity level was not controlled and there was no way to adjust it. Everything in the room felt very wet. Turning up the temp to make the room a little bit warmer did not help. What should have been a very comfortable sleeping situation actually felt like we were sleeping in and on top of wet linens. "Nice hotel in convenient location"
Nice place to stay. Close to UVa and the "corner" where you can shop or eat. Close enough (mile or less) that we walked to the downtown mall for dinner and a concert instead of dealing with parking. Staff was friendly at check in--no problems that needed staff after that. "Marriott Courtyard in Charlottesville, VA"
Room was ample in size but held an odor of sour towels that distracted from the comfort of the bed and room. The front desk had difficulty with my check-in because it was prepaid through hotels.com. Once this was resolved the room key, which was supposed to open the garage gate to park, didn't work. "poorly run"
I arrived hotel after 2pm and was turn away because room was not available. The manager didn't know when it would be available for check in. The hallway on my floor smelt cigarette heavily. Room carpet is damp and smell like wet dog. We have to take the trash out ourselves because nobody clean our room for 3 days.

Best location if you are visiting with a UVA Student but don't expect it to be up to Courtyard standards. I guess the hotel remains full because of its location and the mamangement does not feel compelled to be concerned with quality.
"Virginia Courtesy"
We came in a little late, nearly midnight, and the staff was very courteous, helping to get us into our room very quickly. I chose a couple of bottles of water from the little convenience store, and the gentleman waived the charge.

The Courtyard by Marriott in Charlottesville was excellent! I stayed on a Saturday night in March while visiting Monticello. Location was superb, we had a large room, however, when we called for late checkout the woman from the front desk was rude and very on edge. We checked out 45 minutes after check out time. When we went to the front desk and asked […] her which restaurants she recommended in the area for lunch,she responded rudely and named the two generic restaurants a block away from the hotel. I also asked for a reciept, and she acted like it was such an inconvienence to print it out. Im sure it was just this one employee, and it does not reflect the hotel itself. Everything else was excellent and I would love to return, I just hope they realize how negative thier employee is. 더 보기
