hotel is fine but reception staff not that helpful. simple requests were met with difficult answers or general unhelpfulness. shame as not a reason to not go but it felt a bit of inconvenience at times.

The room was clean albeit a little scruffy round the edges. For example the bathroom vanity top was damaged and the tile grouting was grubby. The glass bowl basin was fine but the tap was located too low so it was impossible to fill the kettle or a glass and this had to be done from the bath.The room window had blackout curtains but the bathroom did […] not and the bathroom door was glazed so the room was not blacked out.There was no robe, complimentary water or TV remote in the room and I had to ask for these. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Staff were very good and confident. Breakfast was good and the service excellent. 더 보기

Two single beds made up a double and were different heights therefore this was quite uncomfortable.

Me and my partner stayed there for an event at the Capital FM Arena. Its close to arena and also the centre of town where there are lots of nice bars and restaurants. The service was fantastic and all staff were very helpful. Now for the downfalls... we first stayed there 2 years ago and at this time we commented that the hotel could do with a revamp. […] Now 2 years on, the hotel is in desperate need of a make over. The first time we stayed we had a standard room which was very small and dark however was located in the heart of the hotel overlooking a conservatory roof which was nice and quiet. The second time around, we paid a little more for a king room which was of a larger size and had a view over the church which was lovely. However we stayed on a saturday night and as our hotel was on the corner of the street, there was a lot of noise coming from people walking along the road and using the walkway at the side of the church. The room we had was also right next to the lift so we had noise coming from all angles throughout the night. All in all, if its just the location your looking for, this is the hotel to be at. I will be considering whether we go back this year due to the problems experienced this time however should the hotel be updated, and the price is right, I would still consider staying at this hotel but avoid Room 22! :) 더 보기

This Hotel is Ok, it is a central location and serves a good breakfast but the room was cold. There was also lots of noise throughout the night from out side of the hotel. i.e students coming back fro a late night (4am).

I've stayed at the Lace Market several times - its consistently good service, comfortable rooms - and its not an ersatz big chain as its a well modernised old building.

Lovely hotel, excellent food either at the hotel restaurant or the Cock & Hoop next door (which is owned by the hotel I think). Clean and convenient for town centre, not a massive room but didn't need it to be. Overall excellent.

Helpful staff and great location for the Arena.

Wasn't so keen on the £15 valet (or £18 carpark), but name me a hotel without some sort of a sting. Staff were excellent, site itself was interesting and clean, the best hotel shower I've had in years, and nice to be able to leave the remnants of one heck of a party strewn in my wake without fear of being sent accross the road to the police station […] or crime and punishment museum. It is the second time we have stayed at the Lacemarket Hotel for a short break in Nottingham. The location is superb, close to good bars, restaurants, shopping and the Arena. Staff are friendly and courteous. Rooms comfortable, good shower, effective double glazing so really quiet even though in a potentially lively location. Excellent breakfast. For a City hotel it is better than most. This hotel was quite nice, and I enjoyed my stay there. The only negative thing was the reception staff person gave me really incorrect directions (but luckily I realized that before I got too far). She sent me to Nottingham Trent University, not the University of Nottingham where I needed to go. Very small room with a horrible view of a back alley. Just got into bed when the fire alarm went off. I then went onto the street half dressed in the cold for an hour due to a faulty fire alarm. The hotel's in a great location and staff were friendly and really helpful. The hotel has great character, although time has taken its toll and it's in need of some tlc. That said, it cost us the same price as it would have done to stay in one of the newer 'pile 'em high' hotels, against which this hotel wins hands down!

I stayed at the hotel on Tuesday night and it was freezing outside. There was NO HEATING on in the hotel. I was so cold and very disappointed. When I complained to the receptionist I was informed that on Saturday it was warm and guests complained about the heat and the heating was turned off. The hotel would've really been something special in it's day, but it's well past it now! The carpets are stained, the paint needs redoing, there's scrapes in the walls that need plastering and for the cost of a room... However it's in a great location and the bed was big and comfy and the room was clean.

Staff is very friendly. The wait staff is also good (had daily breakfast). Many good restaurants nearby and can walk to City Center. Room seemed small but that is because I am from the US. They give you newspaper everyday but there is a charge for it. Would stay here again.

as this hotel is in the centre you do have to pay for parking which is an extra cost The hotel room was very small and shabby in fact the hotel could do with decoration and updating. we asked for a wake up call which was forgotten. the breakfast was luke warm and one of us had to ask to reheat the breakfast as the beans were stone cold. the coffee was […] warm and stewed. The lace market hotel is very well place for the better bars in nottingham. Easy access by foot to the city centre. Hotel staff very friendly on check in & departure. Breakfast was good and fresh squized orange juice a real treat. Some rooms might be ready for a little refreshment but all in all excellent value.

Being a Landmark Hotel it is dated in some respects. Staff was very accomodating. Parking is a problem and valet parking at 15 pounds per day is about the only option.

After reading the mixed reviews I was still hopeful, but ended up disappointed. Our room was not as expected, very small and the bathroom really needed to be upgraded. The general cleanliness was not good particularly in the restaurant, we waited over 30minutes to be served with breakfast even though there was only 2 other couples in the restaurant. Very happy we stayed at the Lace Market. Staff friendly and professional. Food excellent. Booked King Room - bathroom and general room was clean and comfortable with a nice view of the church. One of the best 4 star hotels we have stayed at in the UK.

I got a really good deal at about half-price. At that rate its good value. At rack rate there is NO WAY I'd stay here. This hotel needs a design-jolt: everything is "cool" but doesnt work! Eg. No shower curtain so water everywhere; great TV but desk chair is in the way; great bed but mattress felt way to soft (old/); door does NOT lock automatically […] so every time you leave the room you must remember to lock it again, and that means turning the key twice aaaaargggh. Beautiful location. superior room was very comfortable with great view and plenty of space. Best hotel for the money we've stayed in for a long while. Def worth going for the superior room.

My boyfriend and I spent just one night at the hotel. Friendly staff, clean and nicely decorated rooms, comfortable bed. Excellent choice at breakfast with table service for hot food, tea and coffee and a cold buffet to help yourself to. Extremley helpful staff. I arrived at the hotel when the weather was very hot in June. I stayed in a room where the window kept sliding shut. The next morning I asked if there was anyway the window could be proped open and it was at this point that I was offred another room with air conditioning....lovely! Plenty for breakfast too.

Første møte med Lace var en dårlig håven resepsjonist:-(...spurt om vi kunne bytte den dobble dyna med 2 enkle men det gikk ikke. snakket med stuepiken 2 dager senere og det var ikke noe problem . bodde i bakgården med 5 vinduer rundt som jeg måtte ha gardinene lukket for innsyn av alle kanter..(bunkerfølelse) Betal extra for litt dyrer rom hvis du […] vil ha det mer luxus,vanlig dobbel er ikke vært prisen. Mye bedre på feks Days eller kanskje Ibis som er nabo Hotell og mye billigre. 더 보기

Litt trangt enkeltrom, særlig badet. Ellers greit. Helt ok beliggenhet også. Ikke fullt så bra at brannalarmen gikk midt på natten og alle gjestene ble stående ute og fryse en halvtime.
