실버오크스 호텔 가이저랜드 (SilverOaks Hotel Geyserland) - 로터루아

신비하고 무서운 경험 이였다. 창을 열면 테푸이아에서 뿜어내는 온천수와 펄펄 끓는 진흙천이 보이고 냄세 또한 유황향으로 가득하다. 로투루아에 처음 도착했을때부터 난 냄새지만 ,,, 내가 지금 어디 있는지 어디에 서 있는지를 생각하면 온천과 생소하고 지진과도 멀었던 우린 좀 무서웠지만 정말 멋 있는 호텔이였다. 저렴하면서 풍광까지 좋으니... 5성급 호텔에도 머물렀어지만 잠만자는데는 뭐 별반 차이가 없었다...

시내와 거리도 적절하며, 호텔의 시설은 낙후되어있으나, 유지관리는 잘 되고 있다. 침대가 너무나 소프트하여 허리가 좋지 않으면 고려해야 할 듯. 가격이 결정요소이면, 가격대비 추천한다.

While perfectly situated the hotel was tired and desparately in need of renovation. Having said that the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Dinner was of a very good standard, but breakfast had been done on the cheap! At one time this might have been a decent hotel but today it is a stretch to be 2 Stars.

We spent one night there and I think we got what we paid for... a cheap room with no view, no aircon and a fridge that had to be replaced (no mini-bar either). However we could go out on the lawn and look at the big geysers but we couldn't see them from our room. Breakfast was pretty average and the whole hotel seemed to be just functioning - a refurbishment […] of the whole complex would be a good idea. we stayed 1 night there - first we got a poolview room which wasn´t that nice. after asking for another room we got a room on the 3rd floor with an amazing view over the geyser - this room is more expensive as the normal room but i can recommend it to spend this money! it´s worth every $.

Best view ever, but needs an up date. Good value for money though. I would stay there again if going to Rotorua on a budget

This place looked different in the flesh that's for sure, the staff were terrible extremely rude and everything was a bother to them, there was mouled throughout the shower, huge holes in the towels, a white tip spider in one of the pillows, over all such a shame for location of the place which was very pretty, this place could be so much better with […] the right staff and the maintenance that it needs. 더 보기

Although this is not the best hotel in town, it has the best view. Straight at pohutu geiyser. Ask for top floor for the best view.

Booked 3 rooms online, Desk didn;t have all our rooms, pool side rooms dont exist, wifi in the room dont exist, in all rooms bath/shower was dirty,in 2 rooms fridge didn't work (only 2 little milk containers, only one bed was made up, key card was faulty, lights didn't work, No Air Con in the room, only a window and a room noisy old fan. the rooms we booked comes with continental breakfast, but during that morning the waiter/waitress charged us and we have to sort it out at the reception area while checking out. luckily we asked the receptionist what charges is she charging us and it was the waiter mistakes in writing on a wrong room number. How can this be a mistakes when checked in […] time has already been stated that breakfast is included? The person in charge at the reception are was not very polite too. The room we were in was very hot for the whole day, fridge temperature was not working and the fan speed control was not working as it should be. I stayed there with my two girls. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as we needed to store our mountain bikes. The room itself was adequate for our one night stay. Dark heavy drapes helped us sleep early! The bathroom was small and no bathmat was provided and we had to ask for extra towels,and there was only 1 facecloth. This should be provided […] for when you know the number of guests staying. Otherwise, apart from "dated" decor and substandard cleaning standard... I was happy with the price offered for one night stay which also included a continental breakfast, and if we wanted to upgrade we pay an extra $5 each. This was a good price... the meal provided was adequate although certain foods were not replaced quick enough, but for the cost, I thought it was very good. Very nice, walk out the room door, and youre 50 meters from the hot bubbles. You can actually hear the bubbles from within the hotel.

Get waht you pay for - excellent special. If had been paying full price would have left. House keeping slap dash, reception area all locked and no reply to night buzzer at 10.30. Friends woke us to call reception as their key card did not work. this happened several times over the couple of days. Several excuses for this -supposedly fixed but continued […] to happen. The receptionist was very surly and not welcoming or helpful at all. The room had several maintenance issues. The manhole was above the shower and had no cover over it so was very noisy from all the pipes etc. We had no handle on the shower door which was very inconvenient and had to wait till the second day to get it fixed. Our door key card did not […] work properly and when we came home from dinner at 10.30pm had to wait around outside for over 1/2 hour before a maintenance man could finally help get us in. He did not even seem to know what he was doing and needed my partners help with the screwdriver to get us in.Everything was locked up and we were not even able to use a toilet while standing around outside waiting. The cleaning staff take all the towells and you then have to wait hours for another staff member to do the rounds later with fresh ones. They say you get what you pay for but I got an absolute bargain. The room seemed massive in comparison to any other accommodation we stayed at in New Zealand. It was our final 2 night so i was glad to have some space for a change. It's not new but it was clean and I like the location in the front of the geyser. Thanks for a nice stay.

It smells but it should vor the region of the world that it is located in!!! If you can't deal with volcanic type situations don't stop here. Priceless view!

A dated hotel but this was reflected in the price. Room was always spotless and staff were helpful. Stayed three nights here but wasn't longer enough. would stay here again.

Our room was on the 4th floor so we had an amazing view of the geysers and bubbling mud. The hotel was clean and the breakfast and free internet was a plus. It was a quick 5 minute drive into town. The hotel and the rooms are a little run down and outdated but overall it was a positive experience.

This is a fun motel to stay in since there is a view of a geothermal mud pool right next door and a geyser in the distance. Staff were pleasant and helpful. I appreciated the continental breakfast and the location made it easy to come and stop in for the night and be back on my way the next day. We had a nice view of the geyser and there was a bubbling mud pool beneath our window. Initially, as we were approaching the hotel, we could detect the odour of the surrounding areas. However, when we entered our room, it was alright.

With a great thermal pool view in the backyard. Breakfast has no hot food. The room is big, but it is old lacking of maintaining.

Silveroaks Hotel Geyserland is located on the edge of Rotorua, and a suitable location only if you have your own transport. We were disappointed with our stay for a few reasons. Firstly, it is located right next to the main highway and a main trucking route, so we couldn't get much sleep at all during the night due to the constant noise of trucks driving […] past. Secondly, we were disturbed by hotel cleaning staff three times between 8am and 9am while we tried to sleep in on two occasions they just unlocked the door and stuck their head into the room while we were still lying in bed and the third time they knocked. It was very annoying. There was no latch, no do not disturb sign and apparently the inside lock didn't work to prevent entry by hotel staff. 더 보기

A nice hotel at a nice price! Don't arrive before 2pm though, as I was made to wait 20 minutes until the 2pm check-in time! Breakfast is a nice addition, which has a good selection.

Good motel. Spa facilities not up to much - a hot water plunge pool in an enclosed room. Otherwise fine - good value

Room overlooked a mud pool and geysers which was very nice. Room in good condition and very comfortable however the rest of the hotel was quite run down and breakfast was pretty poor. Stay was OK but would look somewhere else on next visit.

view from the balcony to the vulcano geysier is verry nice.but the hotel is not in a good condition.pool is old,gym is closed,sauna is dirty,jakuzi is not working...

great hotel, good location, easy to find, had all the services we required (gym was out of service unfortunately). the view over the geyser was pretty cool to wake up to it was close to the major attractions of rotorua, and the main town was 5 minutes down the road good place to stay I reckons

Needed a cheap hotel which for what I was quoted seemed reasonable. Arrived at night and room was warm with heater going. Did not receive welcome gift on arrival as stated in my booking confirmation. Room was tidy and semi-clean, although somewhat tired looking. The previous guests key card holder was still on the desk so unsure if the room had been […] cleaned or how thoroughly. Had a reasonably nice view but was nearly at far end of hotel so am guessing it was lesser than what it could have been. Unfortunately had very noisy neighbours who were running up and down hallway outside my room quite late at night, keeping me awake, then when I finally did fall asleep was woken by neighbours in room next door still partying at 1am. I rung reception at 1,30am and they said they would talk to them. Quietened down a bit half an hour later but still carried on partying till 3am with too much noise to fall back asleep. Where my room was located was reasonably sheltered from road traffic noise. Was disappointed to find no hot chocolate sachets in my room for a hot morning drink. Also disappointed to have to pay to use spout pool, which was not very clean. Asked at reception for spare towels as instructed in hotel room book, but unhelpful receptionist said she didn't have any so had to walk all way back to room to get towels before going to pool. When I came to check out same unhelpful receptionist left me waiting while she was eating, and then brought her remaining food out to the reception desk, which I thought was somewhat unprofessional. Hard to rate this hotel, good points were a warm room, comfortable bed, reasonable price. Bad points, noisy guests that partied all night, tired decor, a safe that could be moved so not particuarly 'safe', having to pay for hot pool, no extra towels, no hot chocolate or herbal tea in room, shower that sprayed in all directions so wet my clothes when I went to turn it on - even though I had turned showerhead towards wall as I have learnt from ex 더 보기

Hotel room warm, clean and functional. Very good to have two large beds in room.. Bathroom needed a little bit more cleaning, which was done straight away when attention drawn to it. Breakfast lady very helpful indeed, and good at her job. Overall we were very happy with our stay.

Only stayed one night. Shabby room and noisy as hotel is almost on the main road into Rotorua. Fire alarm malfunction went on for 2 hours and no explanation or apology from anyone. We left to get away from the noise. Only good thing was the view of Whaka from the room. Nothing provided at all, apart from gel soap from wall dispensers and the one over […] the shower/bath was empty. Hotel is fine being next to Geyser however if you want something a bit more up market it is not the place to stay Hotel is old and tired.

Fantastic !!!!! We stayed 2 nights and would have loved to have stayed longer. Our room over looked mud pools and geysers (just like it said on the internet). Our room was very comfy, just a few minutes drive to town centre. Upon arriving we found the receptionist very friendly. In our room we found a cockroach which didn't excite us very much!!! Our door out onto the balcony did not lock properly which left us feelilng alittle nervous, even though we were on the second floor there was still potenial for someone to climb a ladder and steal our belongings while we were out. Yes […] it only cost us alitte for the night, but you still expect things to be better than that. There was blood just under the mirror as will. When we left on sunday moring we let the receptionist know, she was a different one than saturday that we had a few issuses but she didn't seem to worried as i thought she would write them down and let the maintence men know or tell the manager of these problems. 더 보기

nice veiws of the mudpools and geyers. if we went back to rotorua we would stay again. room was clean

hotel a little tired looking,pool dirty, and gym closed but the location over looking the thermal park was outstanding. Upgrade to breakfast for $5 was great value. Good value for money .

Good news first: The hotel had very reasonable rates and the room was very spacious. Also, the view from our room on the fourth floor was incredible! We snapped many great pictures of the geysers in Thermal Village. If not for that, I'm not sure we would have stayed. Bad news: The wireless internet that was advertised did not work in our room... and […] I'm guessing it didn't work in several other rooms either. When I asked the front desk about it, they said only some rooms get the signal. Also, the hotel just didn't feel clean or safe. I'm guessing it's somewhat older, but it just made us feel dirty. I found several hairs in the bathroom and refused to walk around the room without shoes on. (And I'm not high maintenance in any sense.) The worst part was when we turned off the lights for 90 minutes to watch a movie and then turned them back on to use the restroom.... we found an uninvited guest running across the wall: a huge cockroach! Ick! We slept with the lights on and with one eye open. Not a good night's sleep. We won't be coming back any time soon. 더 보기

Clean and tidy, not enought in room facilities, no kitcchen anywhere to use. Other than that a tidy Holet although older. Also the driveway in need of repair as there was a huge hole in it.

Awesome hotel. we had our rooms facing the Geyser. We woke every morning feeling like we were up in the clouds. Love the location.
