The hotel was very good but there was alot of confusion over my payment to Hotels.com. They required an additional credit card # until verification of payment through hotels.com.

This hotel was good for my overnight stay. They need to work on getting the showers cleaner, evening out the hallway floors as there were places where you could trip if you weren't careful, and the toilet moved when I sat. * Shower took 5+ minutes to warm up every morning. * It wasn't a shower so much as a drizzle. * Wireless was constantly dropping even with 97% signal strength. Made working from the room impossible. * Floors are split between smoking and non-smoking. If you're allergic (or sensitive) to cigarette smoke, stay away. The hotel was very convenient to the NAVAL BASE at Great Lakes.

We stayed on Christmas Eve and were treated very nice, and they even stored left over food for us in the refrigerator. Only down side was no bath tub in the room, I do not like to take showers. Great location if you are visiting the Great Lakes Naval Station.

Hotel was fine for my purposes. Only problem was that the internet was not working when I stayed there. Also, the room smelled weird.

Hotel was fine for my stay. Had business at the Great Lake Naval Training Center. Nothing special but good enough.

This hotel isn't fancy, but it is clean and the desk staff was incredibly helpful. I was there for my husband's graduation from the Naval Base. When I arrived the air conditioning unit didn't work the front desk had it replaced in 15 minutes, and one very helpful clerk was happy to chat with me about the best options for getting around town. I only […] had two complaints. 1.) The walls were incredibly thin and I could easily hear the other guests' televisions and doors. That wouldn't have been a problem except that I needed to get to bed early to be on base by 6:30 and people were coming and going until after midnight. 2.) The shower head was non-existent. There was just the end of the pipe and the water came out in a low-pressure spray. Overall for the purposes of this trip the hotel was ideal and I would recommend it. It's not fancy (very few television channels, no bathtub), but it's very convenient and one of few in the area to offer a refund should your plans fall through. We used Sleep Inn Lake Bluff when we went out to see my sister graduate from the Navy boot camp. Not only did the hotel have an efficient and affordable cab service at a time early enough to get in line at the graduation, but they provided a decent continental breakfast. The beds were very comfortable, which was surprising. The only caution I would […] offer is that the smoking rooms are very, VERY smoky as well as the hallway surrounding them. I booked a smoking room because that was all that was available, but would much rather have been in a non-smoking room and floor. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The room was a decent average priced hotel room. The sink was leaking and the toilet ran unles we jiggled the handle to drop the ball, but we made a joke from it and screamed, "jiggle the handle!" to the closest to the bathroom. Lol. Overall, clean, great continental breakfast and price wasn't ridiculous. thanks

I don't understand why I could not check out at the front desk, but had to call hotel.com. Was not happy about that. The only thing hot for breakfast was a waffle I had to make.

Overall our stay was fine. The staff is very friendly and the hotel clean. My bed was soft, but I sleep on a hard surface due to back problems; so, most hotel beds are too soft for me. My main concern was with security in the hotel. A door leading from the stairwell right by the breakfast area to the outside was always open. The hotel is close to a […] military base and there were people coming and going all the time. The surrounding area is questionable. I say a run down car with 8 or 9 people in the car and one sitting on the ground with the front door open. It looked suspicious. Since we were not in the hotel except to sleep I was ok with it. 더 보기

The rooms were ok, breakfast was good. But the A/c didnt work so , we had to sleep with the windows open. They should of made sure the a/c worked before they gave us the room. When you make reservations for a room they should at least cut the a/c on so it would be comfortable when u got there.

very simple, clean, comfortable hotel. Very polite and helpful staff. The "shuttle" to NTC was very helpful. Avoid the traffic and lines and take the cab.

I was disappointed in my stay at Sleep Inn. The room was clean. The bathroom door had a large scrape in it. The front desk staff was not friendly. The hotel was filled loud guests, but the staff did not say boo to them. Coffee was spilled by another guest in the elevator, but was never cleaned in the time I stayed there. I was disappointed after a […] long driving trip to call in an order for delivery as listed in the binder only to find out that restaurant does not deliver to the hotel. We had to find food on our own. Thank goodness I had my own wifi hotspot to do my research since I could not get a stable wifi signal from the hotel. Possitive - Very close to Navy Training Facilities. The staff recommended good restaurants. The near by beach access to Lake Michigan was good and was pleasantly surprised with the lake water quality. Negative - Every small city had local law enforcement issuing driving citations. Red light intersections every where. Municpalities are using law enforcement […] as revenue. Very impatient local drivers frequently use horn. In at 5:00 pm and out at 9:00 am. Nice room with a decent shower and comfortable bed. The young lady at the front desk...bot pm and am...could use a couple of wardrobe advisors, BUT was pleasant enough and certainly efficient. Check in process was simple. Front desk attendant was super nice and helpful. Asked about surrounding restaurants and offered directions to other restaurants not too far off. For the price, I was very happy with the condition and cleanliness. The attendant asked immediately if I needed access to the WiFi and provided the username/password. I booked this hotel because it was so close to the Naval Training Base. I was there for my daughter's graduation. It was so convenient. I took a taxi to the graduation because the clerk at the front desk suggested I do so. It worked out great for me. The cab ride was $3 each way. The room was small and simple, but was all that I needed for my stay.

We stayed two nights during September 2009 for our son's PIR at the Naval Training Center. It was EXTREMELY close to the base, which is what we wanted. The hotel itself satisfied us immensely and I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area for any activities at Great Lakes Naval Recruit Training Center.

Staff was very helpful, other posts have talked about how difficult the left turn onto highway 41 is. All I had to do was ask the front desk clerk and she gave me the easy way out. Nothin to special about this hotel. Booked it at the last minute and thought it would be a bit father away from Great Lakes than it was. I've had better experiences for the same rate at other hotels and better locations.

Other than some loud slamming stairwell doors the first night of my stay, everything seemed to be great. However, pulling out onto the main road, if turning left, is next to impossible. I had to take a right, drive several miles out of my way, just to get to a restaurant across the street (which was recommended by the hotel staff). I wised up a day […] or so later and figured, you must drive through the gas station parking lot and pull out of the McDonald's exit in order to get across safely.
