The hotel was horrible. The service was also bad ......... the neighborhood looked pretty depressing ...... it was a waste of money :(

He hotel is dirty. Some days they do not clean your roons, like Sundays. No wireless internet as their website clams. It is relatively close to downtown and cheap.

Staff were very friendly. Room had a musty smell and shower was stained but the room served its purpose of a good sleep and was walking distance to downtown Athens.

This place is a dump, it is dirty, the manager on duty during the day was sleeping at the desk, it's noisy and the pool was not open, if I knew that the pool was not open I would not have ever booked at this location. I use to enjoy staying at Travelodges, until now, I will never stay at another Travelodge again.

Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed. I needed rest the most after working 12 hours a day and got none. Though the hotel front desk representatives were very nice (NOT MY COMPLAINT), there was noise ALL night, EVERY night. Doors slamming continuously! I even, after exhausted and hopeless nights of racket, witnessed room 207 resident counting […] his drugs right in front of my door after days of constant visitors in and out of his room. Hotel was better than most for the cost. However could have better ground maintence ,, Pool area was totally disgusting and unusable.

When I arrived the outside didn't look that bad the office was very hot, an I was wondering if the hotel had A/C. She gave me the room card, an I had to walk up 3 flights of stairs with my baggage. I open the door an the smell almost knocked me down. It smelled as if there had been people using the rug as the bathroom, an it was very dirty. I immediately […] went back down an she gave me another key to a room that was suppose to be better than the last. I open the door to the room on the first floor, an it smelled worse than the first one, the only difference that I could see is that there wasn't big gobs of bubble gum on the walls of the second one. I went back to the office an an they were kind enough to cancel my reservation without a penalty an that is the nicest thing I can say about the hotel. Good luck if you decide to stay at that one. Most everything in the room seemed dirty/dingy. The pillow cases had stains on them, hairs were stuck to the covers, the tub was dirty, tiles were loose in the bathroom, and other surfaces looked as though food/liquid were stuck on them. I'm not the kind of person that needs a five-star hotel, but this hotel was unacceptable.

Floor was not swept clean, dirt was always in the same spot daily. Loud at night.

I booked a non-smoking room, but the room smelled like stale smoke. I was switched to a different "non-smoking" room. While the main room did not smell terribly, the bathroom stank like fresh cigarettes. Also, the fridge did not work, the bathroom fan was broken, and I had to struggle to get the phone line to work. Please do not be cheap and spend just a couple more dollars for any of the numerous hotels located just down the road! I regret my decision to stay at the Travel Lodge in Athens Georgia and i would not recommend this place to anyone.

This hotel was the least expensive I could find and for the money, it was just fine. It's an older hotel but it was clean. There was a minimal breakfast in the morning. Overall, a good deal but don't expect anything other than the basics.

This hotel needs an upgrade pronto. The only thing I would touch was the white sheet on the bed that seemed clean because it was white, but who knows what was on it. The towels were tiny and scratchy and smelled funny. I could smell food cooking the whole time I was there. Will never stay there again!

I hesitated about booking at this motel because of the negative reviews on this site. I stayed there 4 nights, and have stayed here in the past. The room is small for a king size bed, (I was booked for a double bed, but got a King at the same price) the toilet is too close to the side wall (I am 6-2 and weigh 225), there is no decor, and the furniture […] is worn. But there is a TV, alarm clock, refrigerator, microwave, safe, and coffee maker in the room. The complimentary breakfast is minimal but free. The mattress was very firm, but the blanket was crappy. The HVAC unit has a digital temp setting which is WAY better than the 1-10 dials on most. The shower has a Water-Pik head and plenty of hot water, although it took a while to get the water to full temp, and the shower control was strange. The desk people are efficient and friendly, and the room was clean. It would be a tight fit for more than one person trying to get ready for a big event at the same time, but it is a very good value for one or two people needing a place to sleep and hang out while working in or visiting Athens. I stayed at the Travelodge only because it was the only hotel remaining in Athens on the night of a Georgia game. Absolutely brutal! Outside my window was a gated grass yard that literally had trash stacked up (broken furniture, old mattresses, etc.). The list goes on and on...
