Me and my wife loved this hotel. Great location right next to Farringdon Station with access to main lines and 1 stop from King's Cross Station. Convenient 24hr grocery store right around the corner. Plenty of restaurants and pubs in the area. Only thing that might be a hassle is that there are no elevators. If you have a lot of large luggage, you might […] not enjoy lugging everything up 3 flight of stairs. Everything else about the hotel was so amazing though that I really didn't even care about that. Plus, you can always ask to be on a lower level. One other thing, the shower/tub is a old style tub where you can't really take a shower without making a mess. There's no curtains so you have to basically sit in the tube and rinse yourself off. But again, i didn't mind that considering how great the hotel was. Plus it was different so I enjoyed it. We stayed in The Rookery for a long weekend and enjoyed it. The hotel is located in a quiet walking street, and only once I woke up to the sounds of the City (an occasional rapper at 4a.m.). Rooms were dark but stylishly and on purpose I presume: old mahogany and antique everywhere apart from the TV. Recommended.

We loved the hotel but found the Friday/Saturday night street noise from bar and club customers very intrusive.

We were in London less than 48 hours and had a booking at The Globe Theatre. We walked over the Millennium Bridge right to the theatre, easy 20 minutes. Restaurants and pubs everywhere you look. Absolutely fabulous! We stay here every time we are in London. Each room is furnished with antique furniture and the bathroom are really cool. Remember to ask for a room with a stand up shower. The staff is very friendly and is available 24 hours.

The hotel itself is top class from top to bottom. Great service and I like the idea of their "honour system" bar. Well appointed with antiques. Nice, friendly cat as well (if you like cats). The location is interesting with pubs, restaurants and shops and the tube station is just down the street. Nice hotel in a busy and difficult to find location. im a female traveller and the room was very dark so hair and make up was difficult. the hotel is overlooked at every angle by office blocks so you have to keep the curtains shut all the time, and the lighting is very very low. had all the facilities bar iron and board but this was avaialble on request. […] in comparison to other high quality hotels, it isnt value for money. very expensive for what it is. 더 보기

Our stay at the Rookery was absolutely blissful every moment. Beauty and comfort and cleanliness are top priorities here and all the staff were so helpful and humorous and knowledgeable that it was always a pleasure to speak with them. Comfortable room, attentive, cheerful staff, surprisingly quiet. I highly recommend it. Location is a little off the track, but near a tube station and convenient to many sights.

The Rookery is a fun little hotel, in a picturesque 18th-century building. The place has a unique look, and the staff (and rules) make you feel welcome. I stayed there for a week and enjoyed every minute. A few minor warnings: * Transportation is currently (May 2011) a bit problematic--the area is low on parking space, and the nearest underground station […] (Farringdon) is undergoing massive construction and is often closed during weekends (construction is scheduled to complete by spring 2012). We stayed here for one night following our wedding and everything was lovely. It was great to have the iPod dock so that we could listen to our own tunes. The bed was big and comfy and the bathroom had Ren toiletries - my favourite! We ordered breakfast in the room for 9.45 but then woke up early and starving so rang to ask if we could have it earlier, […] which was no problem and it arrived soon afterwards. This is a lovely old hotel with a lot of charm. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and available 24 hours a day. The room was big, and very comfortable, the bathroom roomy and well equipped. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Although old (built in the late 1700's), the hotel has been modernized with air conditioning. Also, there is a Tube station less than one block from the hotel that will get you anywhere in London you want to go. The hotel is exactly like the pictures on the website. I chose the Rookery for a business stay because of a complete shortage of choice elsewhere during the Farnborough air show. (ordinarily it would have been a hotel I would have considered only for a leisure stay). I found it characterful, extremely tastefully decorated and very well maintained. Staying in the heat of summer (28 to 30 degrees) it was […] a great bonus/relief to find it air conditioned. I was also pleasantly surprised at its proximity to the tube network (Farringdon - less than a minute: Chancery Lane - less than ten minutes) and the choice of nearby eating and drinking options. Booked this hotel on the basis of other reviews. Happy to say it worked out well. The hotel is in a very good location and just a short walk from Farrington tube station. The hotel is very comfortable. The rooms are well laid out and well furnished. Enjoyed my time and will use it again.

Truly fantastic. Full of charm and character. Superbly perfriendly staff. Away from the bustle of town but location still perfect for walking or taking the tube around town. Plenty of good eateries nearby. And all this for a reasonable price. Will always stay here now when visiting London.

Great location and ammenities. Hotel staff is exemplory and customer service is of the utmost importance here. Rooms are romantic, comfortable and inviting. perfect for those traveling from the states that want an elegant British.

The Rookery has a very distinctive English feel to it with beautiful four-post beds and antiques in every room. The staff was superior and the hotel itself was located conveniently within a block of the tube. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in London for business or pleasure.

Viehättävä viktoriaanisen ajan tyylinen pieni hotelli keskeisellä paikalla, hyvät yhteydet joka suuntaan. Hyvä ja ystävällinen palvelu. Ravintolaa ei ole, mutta niitä löytyy riittävästi ympristöstä. Pienenä miinuksena kadulle olevien ikkunoiden huono ääneneristys, katu tosin on onneksi melko hiljainen ja rauhallinen.

Dette var et virkelig trivelig hotell - gjennomført viktoriansk stil, hyggelig og serviceinnstilt betjening. Ganske rolig strøk. Manglet bare en restaurant der man kunne få en skikkelig engelsk frokost, men det man fikk servert på rommer var av høy klasse. Très sympathique petit hôtel. On a l'impression d'être à la campagne en pleine ville tant l'ambiance est celle d'un cottage. Univers de boiseries et de cheminées. Extrêmement pratique si vous venez à Londres par l'Eurostar: St. Pancrass est à une station de métro.

Exactement comme l'indique le site, aucunes surprises. Hôtel Génial qui sort des sentiers battus, vous ramène à une époque reculée et c'est super. Une literie très confortable avec un lit sur lequel je n'avais pas pieds lorsque j'étais assise... Une salle de bain spacieuse avec une baignoire très large et longue et en plus elle est magnifique avec ses […] pieds. Énormément d'espace pour ranger ses vêtements (une très grande armoire avec une penderie dans lequel se trouve un coffre fort, un parapluie et 2 peignoirs + un tiroir de la longueur de l'armoire. Au pied du lit un coffre doté d'une très très grande capacité de rangement également . Un mini bar garni de boissons alcoolisées et non alcoolisées. Nous avions sur le bureau un panier comprenant 2 bouteilles de vins, des chips, des gâteaux, 4 petits pots de verre comprenant différents ingrédients. En clair une chambre double standard d'une très grande taille avec deux fenêtres l'une donnant côté cour, l'autre côté rue. Une salle de bain avec une fenêtre donnant également côté cour. Seul point ennuyeux : la luminosité dans la chambre (suffisamment de lumière mais un rien trop tamisé, de ce fait il vaut mieux être sous la lampe pour lire). Le personnel de l'hôtel est extrêmement aimable, serviable et gentil. Ils se souviennent de vous et c'est très agréable. Il y a une employée qui parle couramment le français et cela rassure lorsque l'on est "nul" en anglais. L'hôtel est super bien placé, à côté de tout avec le métro ( en 10-15 minutes vous êtes à la TOUR DE LONDRES et tous les autres sites alentour), idem pour PICADILLY CIRCUS, SOHO. La gare de SAINT PANCRASS est à 1 station de métro de l'hôtel. Si l'occasion se présentait de bénéficier du même tarif préférentiel dont nous avons bénéficié au mois d'août je sais que je SIGNE pour un 2éme séjour au ROOKERY sans me poser de question. 더 보기

Eersteklas hotel, dat de sfeer van de late 18e eeuw ademt. De mensen zijn er vriendelijk en efficient. Het ontbijt, dat op de kamer gebracht werd, was vers en erg lekker. Alleen vrijdagnacht kwam er 's nachts lawaai van de straat, alle andere nachten was het rustig.

we were very impresses with the standard of this Hotel,, each room has a name and not a number which added to the charm.. the hotel staff were allways friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our 5 day break here and would recomend it to others. The only minus with the room was it was a little noisy at the weekends as there […] is a nightclub close by,, so people walking down the street being a bit noisy might be a concern to some,, but it didn´t bother us that much.
