더 애서니엄 (The Athenaeum) - 런던

This is one of the typical older style English hotels w/small elevators and corridors. Bit hard to get to from the tube as signage is confusing and the walk a bit long. Fairly nice but just a bit too stuffy for me. And don't bother w/breakfast here as the restaurant staff is a bit snooty and tries to hurry you. Plus breakfast is way over-priced.

We stayed at the Athenaeum for a week over Christmas 2011, with two teenaged kids. The hotel was very quiet and the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The complimentary snacks and drinks were very nice with two teen appetites and the adults enjoyed the in-room Nespresso expresso machine and complimentary tea. The beds were comfortable […] the rooms very clean and well-organized. We consider ourselves to be picky customers, but we had zero complaints. Being able to stroll to Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, Knightsbridge and Mayfair was a giant plus for us. Also, plenty of dining and convenience options very close-by. The Bar at the Athenaeum was very cosy. We only had breakfast at the restaurant. It was expensive (like most hotels) but delicious and with good service. 더 보기

Hotel with character and great staff, always ready to respond to your needs. Room was very stuffy with no obvious way to open the windows to let air in. Unusual to need the air conditioner in January - and what a noisy old brute it was too! Despite the noise it didn't cool the room suitable for comfort - heavan help anybody staying in the summertime! […] Great breakfast to compensate for poor night's sleep. Whisky bar worth a visit even if not staying at the hotel - make sure your finances are secure though! Very nice, good spot, but not 5 stars in my view. 더 보기

Fantastic Hotel in a Great location. Friendly and attentative staff who make you feel welcome and important the moment you arrive. No request is to much trouble for any of the employees employed at the Athenaeum.

I have stayed in almost 15 five star hotels in London now in my travels there, and this hotel would barely achieve a 4 star in the United States. Hotels.com promised me a king size bed, which should be no problem for a proclaimed 5 star hotel. However, we were given a double bed, and I had to pay an extra 200 dollars for a king size, which turned out […] to be two single beds pushed together. The room itself looked like a mobster safehouse with barely any amenities. I will never again stay here, and will tell all friends and colleagues your money is better spent around the corner at the Intercontinental 더 보기

Excellent Hotel - staff perfectly polite and supported wishes - keep up the good work!

Hotel is a great location in the centre of London. The staff and rooms were all good. But for the high price I paid I was expecting something a little more luxurious

We were staying in the hotel for one night only, midweek, and found the staff polite and efficient, helpful with early check-in/bag drop and even managed to secure a room upgrade. The jelly babies on the front desk are a sweet(!) touch. Definitely recommend to anyone staying in London on business (cabs a plenty on Piccadilly) and close to shopping/theatre […] district. Spa was also great. Not a good hotel for those who dont want to venture out into London. 더 보기

Welcome home. That’s the Athenaeum’s motto when you walk in the door. And, boy, do they life up to that statement. This really does become your HOME while in London. I struck up conversations with most of the doormen, who were all top-notch. They would see me walking from a far and wave. There was also EXCELLENT service everywhere else as well. The […] front desk man who checked me in and escorted me to my room would see me occasionally during my stay and approach me, call me by name, and ask me if everything was OK. “Do you need anything?” And the politeness and courtesy never seemed forced or pressured. It seemed like they really, genuinely cared about my needs and my experience at their hotel. The room was large and very comfy. And the soft drinks, water, and snacks in the mini bar were all complementary…something I have NEVER, EVER seen in London before. Would I say here again? In a heartbeat. Welcome home is right! 더 보기

年末からお正月にかけて滞在したが、快適なホテルライフを楽しめた。インターネット無料、冷蔵庫はアルコール以外すべて無料であったのはうれしい誤算だ。ロケーション、アクセスは文句なし。ロンドンのもっとも高級な地域であるメイフェアのど真ん中だ。英国のエンターテイナーの貴重なモノクロ写真が廊下、部屋に飾られている。ちなみに私に部屋には、ジョン・レノンとオノ・ヨーコ。多分、オノ・ヨーコを撮影した写真としては、最高レベルと思われるほど可愛らしく撮れていた。

Grosses, schönes Zimmer (Standard), freundlicher Services, schönes Dekor (auch von Bar und Restaurant). Sehr gute Lage direkt am Green Park, nahe Piccadilly. Auch von seitlichem Zimmer etwas Aussicht auf den Park, dieses war auch sehr ruhig. Netter Portier. Spa momentan nicht in Betrieb aber alles organisiert (inkl. Det var veldig irriterende å bli avkrevet 200 pund ved ankomst. Dette skulle være sikkerhet! Jeg skulle få pengene tilbake straks etter avreise. Pengene er ikke kommet enda. Jeg reiste 11.september!

L'hôtel est admirablement bien situé, au sud de Mayfair, à une station de métro (et de bus) de l'hyper centre, et juste en rive des parcs St James et Green Park. Le personnel est extrêmement serviable, et l'hôtel - qui jouxte le Sheraton - est vraiment très calme, très bien tenu (récemment remis à neuf). Le prix est justifié.
