I enjoyed my stay. The bed was comfortable. The location was excellent.

This is supposed to be a Nice hotel. It has an excellent restaurant and the spa seemed nice as well. The rooms, however, were disgusting. My room smelled musty and I found out with barefeet that the rug was wet. The bathroom wasn't very clean and the end of my bed was wet through to the mattress even though it appeared to have clean sheets. The Inn was very easy to locate, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this Inn to anyone traveling to Augusta.

We were pleasantly surprised by the great food in the restaurant and the fitness center. The rooms were quite nice and the staff very helpful. The location is odd in that it is surrounded by highway and the mall but it thankfully seems very peaceful at the hotel itself. Highly recommended.

I was told it was the best Hotel in Augusta, and then was shocked it was so cheap. I entered my room and was not impressed. The floor didn't look as if it had been vacuumed and the bathroom sink needed to be washed better. The bed was comfortable, but there was no where to put my suitcase up (suitcase stand). Sorry to say the room was small, dated, and not very clean. Top it off with a biker party with rude drunken guests, who were insulting and lewd when I walked down the hall to tell the front desk about our broken shower. This hotel is not only clean and conveinent, but the hotel staff was more then willing to go out of their way to help us. The hotel is very classy without having an expensive bill. We ate at the inn house restaurant and it was excellent food. The free breakfast is bigger then any hotel ive ever stayed at with nice options, and the kids love making their […] own waffles. Only complaint i would have is the pool is ont 4 1/2 feet deep at its deepest spot so its more heared towards children, but the hot tub right next to it was perfect. Restaurant was wonderful, hotel was okay. Badly in need of an update, the room was a bit stuffy smelling, bathroom was outdated and while clean, water temperature was not consistent for more than a few seconds in the shower. the Spa looked nice although i did not use it. The spa, the restaurant, and the fact that they welcome dogs with a reasonable fee were the best features for me during my stay just before Christmas. The staff was welcoming and helpful, the rooms to expectations. All this for a very reasonable rate. Excellent accomodations - Top Notch

The Spa Suites are very nice, clean and pretty. Roomy too.

We were very pleased that we could get an early check in ( 12:30p ). Easiest hotel ever to get to off the highway ( I-95 ). Pleasant and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Minor negative......being able to enter from the outside is a plus but there are no rain gutters on the upper level so it's a bit of a wet shower to get thru to get into the room with […] luggage. We stayied in a lower room that was in a seperate building. The room smelled horribly musty like no one had stayed there in ages. Very clustered and just not a good set up in the room we were in. The restraunt in the hotel was extremly pricey also.. The best thing I can say is that the room was clean.

The room had a bad odor and the carpets were dirty. There were spider webs on the bathroom light fixtures and hair in the corners of the bathroom floor.

We were very disappointed in our room. We were set all the way in the back of the hotel and not even attached to the main building. Our section looked like a Motel 6; not even 8. However, the hotel, pool, & spa were very well maintained and gorgeous. We just wish our room was within the actual hotel. The Senator Inn has been a fixture in Augusta for well over 30 years. While they have updated portions of their facilities, some of the guest room features are a bit outdated. The hotel room we stayed in could use updating, but it was well maintained and clean. A new mattress would be in order... Fine for one person, but sags toward the heavier person with two in the bed. Staff was great. Breakfast included with the room is excellent! I'd stay again for the night.

"Dated" is the word I'd use to describe my hotel room. Oh, and "musty." It seems that they've dumped all of their money into the spa -- which looked (and smelled) quite nice-- and restaurant, where I had a pleasant dinner. But the accommodations leave a tremendous amount to be desired. I was put off by the first floor rooms that open to the parking […] spaces in front, though I was assured that they were safe. Nonetheless, one day, I came back to my room to find that the cleaning service had left the safety chain engaged (there is also a door into an interior hallway) and when I was unable to open my door, I reached in and undid the chain! The hotel is a bit dated but clean. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The spa day my wife and I had was the high point of our Maine vacation. I would stay here again.

I used this hotel as a stopover on my way to Little Cranberry Island. It wasn't very scenic, but was very convenient and comfortable. I didn't have time to use the spa, although it looked very nice.

This hotel is in a serious need of a refurbishment. Furniture and all decor is severely out of date. Shower would not regulate and the rooms were kinda nasty.

We had a great stay at the Senator Inn at a great price. We were passing through Augusta on our way home from a long vacation, and decided to explore Maine's capital along the way. Hotels.com had a great price for this hotel right in the heart of the city near the Capitol and Blaine House. The room was awesome, we had asked for a king size bed, when we got there was only planning on staying two nights,ended up staying three, because they upgraded us to a suite-great location, great service and very clean room. Cant wait to go back!

The room we were first place in SMELLED. I don't know what other way to say it, but I actually checked the toilet to make sure someone didn't leave a surprise in there. The front desk was VERY helpful and gracious, and immediately moved us to a different room with no question. Their explanation was that the rooms close to the pool can smell "musty," […] but this room smelled like crap, not must. The second room was great, and no hint of "musty." the pool is the only thing great about this hotel and it closes early....the breakfast was terrible, room was noisy and small and not clean......staff was not at all friendly! would never go back!

Stayed in this hotel on the way back from Maine through New Hampshire and Vermont. The room was fine, the hotel was fine but I didn't sleep a wink because the air conditioner sounded like a 747 in the room with me. I'd imagine that this would be a fine hotel in the winter.

The first room we were given we were very dissatisfired with. It was very small and had no refrigerator. After spending two nights in that one we were upgraded to a suit which did have a refrigerator and we were very satisfied with that room. All the rooms do give the appearance of being shop worn and need to be updated.

We was so unsatisfied with the overall condition of the rooms that we ended up leaving and did not stay at the hotel at all. We did online reservation which was easy and convienient. When we got in the first it carried a strong foul order and tghe room was very outdated felt like we was back in the seventies. It was not as big of a deal to me as it […] was my other half to the point he had me drive back to the office so he could go in and get us a different room. That room was worse then the first wall paper peeling off the walls stains on the carpets. Have to say not at all what we expected from the senator inn. It was a very unfortunite situation and we was not willing to try a third room just took our stuff and checked out. The room was very nice, but they allow pets, and our room had a STRONG pet odor. They did offer to move us, but by the time we got there, were so tired, and completely moved everything in , just didn't feel like moving. They did give us Fabreeze & Glade, which helped some. And when we checked out were told we could not be compensated for the odor because […] we had booked through Hotels.com. I brought my family to Augusta for a really brief business trip and they stayed in the Hotel while I did my thing. I had rave reviews of the staff, room, beds, restaurent and the pool from my kids and my wife. We hope to come back again for a longer stay Thanks Rob

My husband surprised me with a weekend get away to the senator inn and spa, the rooms were nice, but not much room between the tv and the bed, kept bumping in to the tv. Bed was very comfortable. My one big dissapointment was the tub, I love to take a bath we we stay at hotels with out are kids for peace and quiet, but these tubs were just about big […] enough to fit my 4 year old, there was no way i would fit . As I stated, the hotel is a gotta be circa 1960. Had subway tile in my bathroom. The rooms were small, but for one or two nights, the place was great. It seems like the hotel is the place where the members of the Maine legislature stay. The folks that work in the hotel are wonderful, the spa is clean, well maintained.
