From the outside it looks more like motel. But the room was very up to date and felt more like a hotel. The front desk was very nice. The location was a perfect walking distance to the pier/promenade and the downtown area. Would definitely stay here again.

I love this Inn!! It is so great !! Not only the room is very comfortable and clean but also the staff is very friendly! We are so late to check in so that we could not find the restaurant to eat the dinner! They provide the microwave in the room therefore we could buy some stuff from VONS to heat it!! I was pleasantly surprised at how nice and clean this hotel was.

Very reasonable prices. Good breakfast. Within walking distance to downtown and beach. Train was not too bothersome. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again when we come to visit our grand daughter. Thank you for taking care of the noisy obnoxious people 2 doors down!!

clean, good service. breakfast is okay and wireless service is a bit on and off. Its a short walk to main st so that is nice. For a business hotel, its okay. The back rooms are close to the train but I slept thru it 2 out of 3 nights

My Husband and I came to Ventura for a getaway weekend. The staff was very friendly and check in was very easy. The inside of the hotel room is very nice compared to the outside look of the hotel. Rooms surprisingly renovated and fresh, compared to shabby typical motel exterior. We could hear highway roaring from the bathroom window. The bed linens were nice. Continental breakfast decent.

When they mention "Deluxe" breakfast, they're not kidding. It includes (cold) hard-boiled eggs, make-it-yourself Belgian waffles, toast, milk, and all kinds of other things. The only bad part about it is the limited seating that's available. The room itself is cozy. The bed is soft and plush (as well as the pillows), and the heater/cooler actually […] works. TV has about ~20 working channels. My current gripes about the room is that the chairs aren't height adjustable, meaning those that are not so tall will have issues working on a table (I had to use a sofa cushion to compensate the slight height difference). Secondly the bathroom shower curtains are slightly short, as it's easy to somehow push it away for water to get through it. Lastly this hotel is right by some train railways. Occasionally you will hear the loud trains as they pass by the area, which can occur every hour or so. We were gone most of the time so I can't exactly detail when they come. Overall though the place is great for its price. They also provide a spa and heated pool, and its location makes it a 10 minute walk from the beach or Ventura pier. Add 5 minutes of driving further downtown and you can visit the mall. 더 보기

Stayed here on my way up the coast, returning to the bay area after a wedding in Phoenix. I like Ventura and have visited before. This hotel is an older California classic. Our stay at this hotel has been subject to a formal complaint to Best Western. Easy to find, close to decent eateries, decent decor, comfortable bed, however, the rear of the hotel has a frieght railroad line 15feet !!! outside the rear windows, with the freeway and associated noise a further 20 feet beyond this. As well as the constant noise from the […] freeway, which was barely muffled by the windows, we were not only awoken by the frieght trains passing at 4AM and 4:45AM, but the entire room physically shakes as they pass (it also seems to be the location where the engine drivers sound their horns too!). When discussed with the front desk, we merely recieved a shrug of the shoulders and the reply of "what can we do, it's outside our property" (by the way, this was also the initial response from central customer service at Best Western). With a 300 mile drive the following day, it did not allow me to enjoy the next leg of our trip one bit. Bad enough for us whilst on vacation, I'm sure no business user would have a solid working day after the experience here. 더 보기

We decided on this current trip to Ventura to stay somewhere on the value side instead of some of the other hotels in town. It is a motor hotel that is backed up against the railroad tracks and freeway but with the good windows they have, the noise of those two things was hardly noticeable. We were at the far back of the hotel and could see the ocean […] and above mentioned features. The bed was really comfortable and the room was a nice size. The shower was great with good pressure. I would recommend this hotel with the caveat that if you are sensitive to noise; ask for room near the front of the property, NOT at the back. The hotel property is immediately adjacent to a railroad track and then a freeway. True the trains seem not to run late at night but then the trucks are on the freeway. Nice Comfortable room with good bed, nice ocean view and lots of privacy. Only negative was railroad running right below my window.

I'll start by saying that our overall stay was fine. Not amazing, but fine. The first room I was assigned to had a burned out light in the shower and a smoking hot (literally) AC. I got switched to a new room, which had a working light, but I was afraid to try the AC. As previous reviewers have stated, there is a train that runs behind the building […] and shakes the rooms about once an hour, but it doesn't run at night, so it wasn't that big a deal. The breakfast in the morning was good - better than most continental breakfasts I've had in the past. The rooms were well maintained (other than my first room experience), but the ice machines were broken. Overall, I'd say if you're a business traveler who's just stopping through town for a quick sleep and a decent breakfast, by all means, stay here. If you're looking for something a little more luxurious, a night out with your spouse or significant other, you might want to look elsewhere. 더 보기

The price was more than I wanted to pay, but was very reasonable compared to others in the city, so I can't complain. I arrived early, so I had to wait for them to get a room ready; but they did, and brought the key out to me in my car when it was ready, as they saw me waiting. The outside of the buidling was clean but dated, so I worried about the […] inside of the room; but the room was very nicely updated. Nice breakfast included, internet included! but for some reason my cell phone wouldn't work the whole time I was there, but wokred once I left the property? so I can't stay there again, but would otherwise, no problem. 더 보기

It was close to the beach hotel was very comfortable. They gave breakfast very good not just a plain old danish and juice. We loved the stay here and would stay again...

The price was a bit more than other motels in the area, but the reviews indicated quiet atmosphere, friendly staff, safety, cleanliness, updated rooms. It was all that and more.

This was a great hotel. Very clean and comfortable.

The price, location and room arrangement was most convenient. The outside of the building needs to be redone.

Room was clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. Had dinner and breakfest at Vagabon's next door, very nice. Unfortunately, we were not told about the railway tracks behind the hotel and were woke up at 2:00 am by the train horns!

Great motel, really clean with modern decor and lovely bed. great facilities. Only downside is the location is right next to the railway and bypass. Not too much of a problem as it didn't stop us from sleeping and I am a light sleeper (They stop being allowed to sound the train horns after a certain time) - probably not great if you want an early night […] or a lie in. Called in AM to request early check in. I tried 2x, my husband called 3x..no response. Upon arrival at 2pm, we were told room wasn't ready and earliest guarantee was 4pm. We were to be a a wedding at 4pm so ended up geting ready at a McDonald's.Room was OK, breakfast was good and check out was smooth. Not highly recommended but OK.

The manager checked us in. He was very friendly and courteous. He also gave me a map and highlighted items on it. He was very professional and welcome. I found the other staff also friendly and eager to please. The outside of the hotel looks like a bit of a time warp (1970``s) BUT the room was terrific just renovated. Drove down from Northern CA. for a 30 yr. class reunion and the hotel stay was clean, cool & Awesome!!!

Exterior is older, but the rooms have been entirely remodeled. Very clean and comfortable. Free WI-FI! Great location. I would definitely stay here again!

The Hotel staff was helpful in giving me a map to the Ventura Fair; I enjoyed the walk as much a the Fair. Everyone was pleasent.

Compared to Santa Barbara hotels this is a good value if you don't mind having to drive 25 min to sb. There are trains that go by very close to the best western but during our stay did not run between about 11pm and 6am which didnt cause much of a problem. They also run only every hour. The breakfast included was decent for the price - breads, bAgels, […] cereals, waffles (make yourself). The room was fairly recently remodeled and clean and comfortable. It is close to the ocean and rooms on the 2nd floor in the back have fair ocean views. There is a park across the street which looked nice. 더 보기

Hotel quality was good, with a pool and laundrette, but in a noisy location next to the freeway and the railway.

I arrived at about 1:45 pm and was told by a very snobby Tamara (front desk person) that check in would not be until 4pm, even though I reminded her that the internet said 3pm. Then, I asked if I could switch to a non-smoking double bed, she rudely said all the rooms were non-smoking (a non-issue since I do not smoke). Then she snipped that I could […] not change my room as all the rooms were full. She never once apologized for the delay and I did remind her that she was a hotel employee and involved in customer service, and that she should go elsewhere if she did not liike her job. The room itself was nice, but as long as Tamara is employed there, I would suggest going elsewhere. Super comfortable bed--best night's sleep I've had in weeks.

My family has stayed here in the past and love the location and the breakfast. This time we got to enjoy the beautifully remodeled bathroom and room decor! We had no batteries in our TV remote and they brought them up to our room right away! Comfortable room, good, light breakfast buffet included. Pleasant walking distance to Old town attractions, Movies, restaurants, Paradise Pantry (wine and cheese tasting) Pool looked nice. A pleasant stay.

the hotel is alittle on the older side. the rooms need to b updated. very clean. There is a nice park across the street for the kids to play and very close to the beach. The breafest is the best part of the stay. It is one of the best breakfest a hotel has had.
