I was hoping to stay in a funky little B&B so my only downside is that the property is pretty modern which kind of takes away from the charm of Canterbury. But it's in a perfect location. The rooms were comfortable - great bedding & clean. Definitely a great property & recommend.

Overall we were slightly disappointed with the ABD Canterbury. The welcome was good, however given the price of the room the quality was disappointing with no outlook . It was the the busiest friday before Christmas however despite there being, what seemed to be plenty of staff in the champagne bar, the service was extremely slow. We heard a number […] of complaints.We also payed a service charge on top of our drinks bill as we charged them to our room. We attended a function in the tavern and the poor service continued. All in all disappointing however it may be that had we visited at a quieter time of the year the overall quality of our stay would have been better. We know the area well so the surrounding area did not disappoint. 더 보기

Room was spacious, clean and modern. There was a very nice complimentary snack basket they refilled each day with chocolates, potato chips, mints, nuts. Also a selection of 2 different apple juices and 2 waters. Shower was excellent, warm and lots of water pressure. Very kind staff and you can't beat the location!

The hotel is centrally located on the High Street. Reception struggled a bit to load my room card. I had earlier asked for a room on a high floor overlooking the High St and was given that. The room was decent sized, bland design, pleasant enough. Soft bed. Hard to get a bright light. Safe, iron, no fridge. Good quality tea, coffee, hot chocolate, […] biscuits. The High St is noisy with drinkers on weekend nights - there is double glazing. There was also poor internal sound insulation - I could hear my neighbours' conversation, TV and shower. Bathroom was fair sized. Good toiletries in unusual flavours - grapefruit soap and so on; fun. On the Saturday morning there was a succession of short power cuts which also led to an extended failure of the water supply. No apology from management. Good breakfast. Reasonable price (£6.20) for continental which included well cooked porrage. Plates and bowls seemed small, so take more to circumvent portion control. Well managed breakfast room with friendly cheerful staff: when the lights failed on Saturday the manageress came to each table to apologise. I know that the fire alarm works - there was an alert at 00.30 on Sunday. A fire tender was in attendance, but no sign of any fire. Perhaps the electrical problems from the previous day? No explanation or apology from management. The hotel is expensive for what you get. In the absence of single occupancy rates it is ludicrously expensive for singles. 더 보기

The staff was very helpful with wonderful customer service. The hotel was comfortable and in a teriffic location. Was able to hear the child next door but we were lucky that no noise woke us up at night. Canterbury is a charming town with lots of shops and restaurants. Had dinner in their casual tavern and it was very good. We were only there for one […] night but would recommend a stay in Canterbury, especially before or after going to Dover for a cruise (so close by). 더 보기

FROM THE MOMENT WE ENTERED THE HOTEL WE EXPERIENCED NOTHING BUT VERY EFFICIENTAND FRIENDLY SERVICE.ROOM MORE THAN LIVED UP TO ITS DESCRIPTION.FOOD IN THE BAR WAS EXCELLENT AND THE HOTEL COULDNT BE ANY CLOSER TO THE HEART OF CANTERBURY...OVERALL A GREAT STAY AT A GREAT PRICE.

Stayed at the Abode last weekend with my girlfriend. Overall, an 'OK' stay (eventually). the main problem was that I booked a room with a King Size bed on hotels.com, the room we were given contained only a standard double. I felt they did the classic 'have you stayed here before' trick before giving us the room allocation - to see whether we knew […] what the differing room levels were. We hadn't, and so got offered a standard double when we'd paid for the 'middle' level of luxury. When we just wanted to have a rest, it was a real inconvenience to have to 'chase up' the staff downstairs to move rooms. Eventually we got to a much larger and more appropriate room. The hotel looks great (spotlessly clean) though and the bar was great. Just double check what you're booking when you book through a broker. 더 보기

Stayed here for 2 days with my wife during the may long weekend and cant figure out how they justified the price of the room. After 1st night, even after requesting for the room should be serviced by housekeeping, it wasn’t done. On the top of it we were told that housekeeping staff was very busy!! Then when we requested on the door not to be disturbed, […] housekeeping knocked and then did half a job they were supposed to do I can’t recommend to any of my friend. Booked a single night stay in the Abode and although it's a bit on the pricey side it's a fantastic building and the room was comfy and clean. Location is excellent for seeing Canterbury, too.

An excellent hotel in the heart of canterbury's shopping district. Difficult to get to by car owing to the denisty of pedestrian only steets in the area surrounding the hotel but once you find it there is limited hotel parking available. Comfortable room, very clean bathroom, large flat screen TV, carpet stained in parts but otherwise a thoroughly good […] hotel experience and strongly recommend to others. This is nice old hotel with a superior restaurant and a friendly staff right in the heart of Cantebury within blocks of the cathedral. Overally, we enjoyed our stay, particularly the food. Our room was small and basic and there was some noise during the night from the establishment next door. The carpet was a bit soiled. The common areas are attractive […] and nicely decorated, definitely inviting. We would stay again for the location and restaurant but would ask for a different room on a future stay. 더 보기

WE stayed at the Abode for one night on a trip to the cathedral and were exremely pleased. The employees were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and were able to direct us not only to the well know sites but to rare finds. Great location, rooms were clean,will absolutely stay there again

Really good stay and one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept on. Late night room service didn't have everything on the room menu and in the room some bathroom consumables had not been replaced, some used filter coffee pods were left on the drinks tray. However staff did deal with issues quickly and politely and I'd stay again.

great location, excellent amenities, we had a great stay. pillows are the only objection and mattress too soft, but it's a matter of taste.

Velrenovert, komfortabelt og sentralt beliggende hotell. Vennlig og hjelpsom betjening. Hyggelig bar i resepsjonsområdet og god restaurant. Romslig og greitt rom. Eneste minus at vi på vårt rom hadde problem med å holde varmen på badet over natten når vi slo av varmen og viften i hotellrommet (ikke separat baderomsoppvarming).

A un precio no desdeñable, nos ofrecieron una habitación sencilla que daba a un patio exterior y a una calle donde había un pub. Por la noche el ruido era insoportable hasta que conseguimos cerrar la parte superior de la ventana (cosa ardua). Desayuno no incluido en el precio. Una cosa positiva, la recepcionista no nos cobró 2 botellas de agua que consumimos […] en la habitación (no minibar). 더 보기

Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt, der Service war aufmerksam und wirklich interessiert. Dieses Hotel hat uns sehr gut gefallen, schöne, moderne Zimmer und auch das Restaurant:schönes Ambiente und qualitativ hochwertige Menüs. Weiter so!

We were very pleased with this hotel. Great location bang in the middle of Canterbury. The staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms were comfortable and the commun areas were convivial.
