Stayed here on business in March 2012. Was a bit disappointed by this hotel as it's falling short of it's potential somewhat - they have all the right ingredients for a great hotel but nobody's holidng it all together. Biggest point for me was that the place is infested with cockroaches - I understand it's recently undergone a renovation, but this […] is pretty much wasted until they undertake a thorough fumigation, I found multiple cockroaches in my room and corridors every day. As noted in other reviews, it's in a beautiful setting with modern, plush common areas. The staff are all friendly but need some strong leadership and management to get them working well as a unit - everyone we spoke to was friendly and well intentioned, however a poor level of English made day to day hotel transactions difficult. Only exception to this is the male restaurant staff - woe betide you if you go into the restaurant when there are no female servers, as the men seem to prefer to stand around and chat, waiting for the 'table fairy' to take care of the guests - if you needed anything when they were alone in there you had to seek them out, ask, then repeat ad naseum. If you're thinking about staying as you want somewhere cheap I'd probably recommend a good backpackers hostel - if you can afford more bear in mind this may be $20 or so cheaper, but if you can pony up a bit more then you'll get much more value for money! Final point for this is to be cautious of some of the reviews on here - seem to be a large number of 'excellent' reviews in sketchy English from people with no other reviews. The location of hotel though been far away from the city is very scenic. The open air bar and restaurant on the sea front is very beautiful. It is ideal for couples desiring privacy . The hotel breakfast also is good and has a Indian Palate too along with continental stuff. Staff is also friendly and warm. Good hotel to stay and relax.

The hotel is one of what seems like a rather large chain, and unfortunately isn't anything as spectacular as the photos or reviews led me to believe. My superior twin was a twin room with ensuite, I wasn't particularly sure what made it superior, it felt like we'd just been given a normal room - TV didn't work either. The hotel is nice, rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. But it's not as beautiful as it looks on the pictures (taken at night :) Food is good, the swimming pool is OK and the view is great. Good value for money in this area.

I stayed for one night before flying home from Dar. As mentioned in many other reviews the grounds are beautiful and the building impressive upon first arrival. I was a little confused about the 'soda and beer bottle' display in the front reception/lounge area (there were soda and beer bottles encircling a large round table just inside the entranceway) […] but soon realized they had been placed there to be sorted and placed in crates, possibly something which should've been done away from the view of arriving guests? Check in was quick and pleasant but the room was not ready even though I arrived 2 hours after the allowed check in time and the hotel was obviously quite quiet. It's possible the delay was to put me in a nicer room at a corner of the building, closer to the sea. I waited on the balcony enjoying the view while housekeeping finished preparing the room and when it was completed it was very nice and clean. After check in I decided to organize the 'shuttle' to the airport only to find out there is not 'shuttle' to the airport but they organize a taxi for you and for much more than I paid to come from the airport (35$, I paid 35 000 shillings, about 22$, to get to the hotel). I wasn't pleased to hear this because part of the reason I stayed at this hotel was for the shuttle to the airport as all hotels offer taxi services. I managed to get the taxi for 30$ but the taxi driver wouldn't budge and I didn't have much option; only wished I'd taken the number of the taxi driver who took me to the hotel. I then decided to eat something, not many options on the menu especially for vegetarians, and the beach bar and seafood grill are not separate restaurants but the same patio area by the water (nice view!). I saw one guest asking in confusion where the other restaurant was only to find out both were the same. The pizza I ordered was delicious until I found a crispy fly which I nearly ate because I'd added some ketchup! The kitchen was very good though offering to coo 더 보기

there is no good services in the hotel ,TV Channels was varey bad (just 4 Channels) , no refrigerator inside rooms ,

Högre standard än väntat. Fantastiskt läge. Dock var restaurangen en besvikelse. Nästan ingenting av menyn fanns att få och serveringen tog lång tid

Meille sattui ikävä juttu hotellissa.Huoneessamme kävi kutsumattomia vieraita ja tietokone varastettiin ja hotellin henkilökunta ei pystynyt selvittämään varkautta ja miten on mahdollista huoneeseen pääsy. Muutoin hotelli siisti ja huoneet tilavia ja palvelu ystävällistä. Sijainti melko syrjäinen vaati aina kyydin käydäkseen jossakin.

I stayed at Golden Tulip 13-15 October 2011. I had planned to stay at a guest house, but when I saw that Golden Tulip had a good offer, I decided to spend the extra money. It was absolutely worth it.
